As I worked to recover and gain strength and mobility, I learned just how much my progress was up to me, but I also discovered how invaluable it is to have educated, experienced, and empathetic trainers, and everyone who worked with me at ATI epitomizes those characteristics. i went to impact physical therapy to seek relief from chronic tension headaches. tony was my…read moretherapist and i saw him 2x a week for 6 weeks. after 2 weeks, i started to get relief. my symptoms continued to steadily improve until i was discharged. tony's therapy program included everything from exercises to hands-on work to cupping. i was also taught a series of take-home exercises which i still use for headache relief on a daily basis. although my headaches were atypical, tony's expertise and knowledge of anatomy provided relief where all other options have failed. prior to going to impact, i had sought help from neurologists, optometrists, dentists, otolaryngologists (ear/nose/throat specialists), massage therapists, acupuncturists, and more. i even visited diamond headache clinic in chicago and was not able to get relief. i only wish that i had found impact sooner. thank you tony and the entire gang at impact, you guys rock!

Dr. Melby and his staff were kind and incredibly patient with her, as she is typically very timid in a healthcare setting. We decided on a treatment plan after discussing options and my daughter has since completed her treatment plan and will go to appointments on a more "as needed" basis. Over the course of her treatment, my daughter became very comfortable in the office and we have noticed changes in her stability of movement among other things since being adjusted. While my daughter was starting her treatment plan, I decided that I wanted to get evaluated, as well, to see if Dr. Melby could help with chronic pain I suffered with in my neck and back. I am currently still working through the treatment plan Dr. Melby put together for me. However, I have felt like a completely different person since being adjusted. My pain is much more minimal, almost to the point of being completely absent at most times. All of that being said, Dr. Melby and his staff are absolutely amazing and very personable. The office is in a great location, very sanitary and appointments are easy to schedule. I would highly recommend Melby Chiropractic to anyone that may be on the fence about trying chiropractic care.

But I literally drive down from Chicago a couple times a year to have an adjustment because after almost 20 years in Chicago I still haven't found someone as good as Dr. Melby. My take is that his appointments are super short not just to maximize profits but to see as many people as possible - help as many as possible - while still maintaining an incredible work/life balance for his family. I'm 26 years old, and recently started having some serious back pain issues and woke up one day…read morewhere I was completely stiff and couldn't move my neck in any direction or sit down without immense pain, had to remain standing. I went to see Dr. Alexander the next day per recommendation from a coworker. In the consultation appointment itself, they took x-rays from all sides, Doc examined them and felt all the vertebrae in my spine individually. Found out that I had misalignments going right then left in both my neck and lower back, and multiple nerves were being pinched, causing my shooting pain and numbness and muscle stiffness. He asked if I was okay with getting an adjustment in that initial appointment, I gave consent, and two popping noises in my neck later, I was able to sit again without pain. I had quite a few issues, he put me on a plan for 4-6 weeks with 2-3 appointments each week to monitor the movement range of my spine and make adjustments and perform electrotherapy as needed. It's been 3 weeks and I'm back to jogging, stretching, light workouts again. His staff is knowledgeable and very pleasant and the services are quite affordable as well. I highly recommend Alexander Chiropractic. P.S. I went to Carle Hospital in Urbana the same day as my consultation appointment here, to get a second opinion. Got a remarkably different and innacurate diagnosis there stating that I had to choose either upper back or lower back because they wouldn't address both in one appointment, then stating I had no spinal issues at all (without doing x-rays or checking my spine by hand) and that it was surely all muscular and required injections to lessen the muscle stiffness, followed by physical therapy. But had I done that, it might've temporarily dulled my pain, but never addressed it, and I would have to keep getting the injections and having no treatment for the cause of the pain.
