I bought a pair of earrings worth about 2.4k through TRR's New Jersey consignment store, and the shipment was handled by UPS. When the package arrived in my country, it was flagged by Customs due to an incorrect declared value. Instead of 200+ tax, I am being charged 2+k, because the value of the earrings was declared at 24k instead of 2.4k I have contacted TRR multiple times over two weeks, often during US business hours, which unfortunately fall in the middle of the night where I live. Despite this effort, the responses were extremely unhelpful. I was repeatedly told to "go back to UPS," even though UPS did not provide the declared value and cannot amend it without the shipper's instruction. TRR promised to correct the declaration, but no correction was actually made. This left me stuck going back and forth between TRR and UPS, with neither taking responsibility for resolving an error that I did not cause. UPS could not clarify who exactly provided the incorrect customs declaration beyond "TRR", and told me to go back to TRR. Customs also informed me that I cannot pay the duties first and claim later. The declaration error must be corrected by TRR, as they arranged the shipment and provided the declared value. As a customer, this has been frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing, especially from a company that deals in luxury goods and international shipments, where accurate customs documentation should be standard practice. This was supposed to be a Christmas present.

Because of that, I felt it was important to share how disappointed I was with my recent experience. Unfortunately, the atmosphere in the store has consistently felt unwelcoming. The staff rarely smile, seem bothered when customers ask questions, and often make it feel as though they are doing customers a favor simply by being there. As someone who genuinely enjoys shopping at small businesses and has chosen to support your boutique repeatedly, this has become increasingly discouraging. What upset me most during my recent visit was that I was shopping with my 12-year-old daughter, who urgently needed to use the restroom, and your staff refused to allow her access. As a parent, I found that incredibly disappointing and lacking basic compassion and customer courtesy. I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider addressing both the customer service environment and how situations like this are handled in the future.

I knew that a shopping trip would yield great results, and I always walked away with a full bag. It was especially a great place to buy work clothes! The quality and selection has really just changed. Everything feels cheap, thin and see through. It's got more of a 'club vibe' than a work vibe. Flying Monkey Jeans are no longer in the $40-50 range, now they are $70 for a pair! Staff was also super unfriendly. The store employee had airpods in. Did not offer to help set me up with a room when I was lugging around a pile of clothes to try on (with no one else in the store). Maybe what's in style has just changed and I'm not stylish anymore?! In any case, I don't think there is another shopping trip here in my future.
