I think it's important to mention right from the start that I don't work for this company. I…read morewouldn't be good enough. The best word to describe Jack-Ed Carpentry is professionalism. That word can be overused but in this case it is actually inadequate. I contacted Ed, one of the owners in September and asked him to look at redoing my basement. He came out gave me an estimate and then stood by his estimate after I got sick and the project went on hold for six weeks. Ed then came in, verified the details again and gave me a firm date to begin the work. Every time he and his crew were supposed to be there they were as the project moved through assorted stages. His guys took special care to be respectful of the property and clean up each day's debris (We had to lock our cats up during the day when they were working, with no way to secure the basement the extra work Ed and his crew did to keep our pets safe was greatly appreciated). We had setbacks during the construction. None of these were Ed's fault. We had some added requirements that had to be met during the construction - Ed pivoted and handled them each time, never losing his patience and actually calming me down when I got frustrated with inspectors. When we had an added inspection thrown in - Ed met the challenge with ease and more of that "professionalism. Ed wasn't alone. His crew was simply amazing. I'm sure my wife wanted to adopt one of his guys "Miguel," because he worked so hard during the day until she would make him take a break. His work ethic was amazing and it was easy to see how Ed's influence in mentoring him rewarded us as customers. My only regret was that I couldn't have Ed and his team do more work. I'd gladly let them do more and plan on it as my budget allows the next phase. One other point. We had other contractors come in to handle other projects. Ed worked seamlessly with the other contractors. I think his influence made their performance better to live up to the standards he set. Jack-Ed Carpentry, simply the best (and yes, I admit to being a 65 year old fanboy.)

Cesar was extremely communicative upfront, making all the…read morepromises that our bathroom remodel would be done in 3 weeks and he could accommodate all our asks. NONE of that happened. After 4 weeks of irregular work, and a 90% paid invoice, he has completely vanished - leaving me with a half completed bathroom, a mess in our home and in our garage, and a stolen brand new toilet. He changed his phone number and won't return my emails or messages. HE IS A COMPLETE SCUMBAG AND A FRAUD. HE IS NOT A REAL CONTRACTOR AND HIS BUSINESS IS NOT LEGIT. I have reported him to my bank, to the company that sourced him for me, and the Illinois Attorney General.

Start date 10/08/21, it is now 12/07/21 and the renovation is at a standstill and incomplete (contract states 3 weeks for completion. Poor craftsmanship, cheap products (cabinets are sub-par at best), wrong size cabinets, terrible paint job, lighting fixtures not hung, the countertops are just laying on top of the base cabinets and not secured, base cabinets are not level; and it's been 2 months without running water or gas for this poor senior citizen. It's two months since the project began and Cesar Camacho has been a no-show since right before Thanksgiving. Also, the refuse from the kitchen demo is just sitting in the back yard without being hauled away. Mr. Camacho has not replied to any texts or call and has now disconnected his phone number. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!

The craftsman were most helpful; friendly and professional. They came to our home to measure, make a template and a week later, back to install. The counters are gorgeous snd we could not be happier. My wife and I built a house this past summer and had Tom and his crew create all the countertops…read more(and kitchen table) for our house. Man do these look beautiful! Everything was delivered within the agreed upon time window. There were a few snags in the process - the island wasn't fitted correctly and the kitchen table was made in the wrong color, BUT Tom has a lot of integrity and took ownership of everything and fixed it without any extra charges. Everything was dialed in and perfect in the end. I can't stress enough how relieving it is to work with someone who had integrity and stands by his work and product. He definitely is someone I would keep working with for future projects. Oh and I pursued a few quotes for the same project and Tom beat them all by a few thousand dollars! I would add that his product requires a bit more maintenance that I had realized - hopefully i don't butcher this, but its a concrete countertop coated with some sort of stone polymer that is completely customizable in color, texture, sand, etc (pretty cool) - on top of this is a clear sealant and on top of the sealant is a marine wax - this wax needs to be re applied every 3-6 months - especially in high traffic areas. Anything acidic (lemon, lime, citric acid, vinegar, etc) will begin to erode the wax and sealant and can stain the stone if left for too long. The cool thing though is that they can repair them in a way to make it look brand new so your not SOL if something happens to them. And just look at these photos... they speak for themselves.
