I consulted with many engineers from referrals and from Yelp but it wasn't until I met Engin that I felt like I was dealing with a true professional who knew exactly what he was talking about. If you're looking for anything structural anything to do with foundation or the structure of your building I would highly recommend using his company. Very quick turnaround on documents. Super easy to schedule site visits. And Engin has gone above and beyond to help with necessary correspondence needed for a complicated legal dispute That involves the structure of my building. It is important to call out that some engineers do extremely sloppy work and you should be very careful who you hire especially when you're asking them to do detail drawings of your house. I found this out firsthand by allowing co-owners of my building to hire another firm who created extremely inadequate structural drawings that left out a lot of key information. Thankfully, I hired Engin's firm to confirm the accuracy of the plans and we were able to flag several key areas that needed to be updated or were missing critical information on the building. I'd like to call out that several engineers don't pay close attention to detail, and you really need to have all the details especially when you are doing something that can greatly impact the construction on your home. We're in the middle of a small remodel with another structural engineer who may've gone a little overboard with the requirements and I reached out to Engin for a second opinion. He was very responsive and seemed more realistic abt balancing 'the math' vs real-life. This is the first time we've worked with structural engineers and we went with the first one recommended to us, not understanding what a pivotal role they play. Next time we'll do a lot more vetting to make sure we work with someone who doesn't overengineer, is flexible as issues crop up in the middle of the project, and can creatively problem solve on the fly. It's obviously in contradiction to previous reviews, but it happened. Look, no one is perfect and that goes for Engin. I am just expressing my experience just as the other reviewers did. I like to keep things short and simple but Engin takes it to a whole other level. Perhaps it's because he is full of himself. I heard engineers can be "aholes" to deal with but for the sake of customer retention, a quality business should be careful not to follow the trend especially one that may be offensive. I hired Engin Yagmur of ECR Engineering to do two drawings for my house. I never worked with an Engineer or Architect before but have dealt with hundreds of folks in business over the last 35+ years. I contacted him in October of 2020 and explained that I needed to replace my cement, front entry stairs. This was the primary project and I thought to do some voluntary earthquake strengthening in the garage at a later date and asked for plans for both. After some poor communication he came back with the earthquake plans in January. (Not the important stair project that I stressed was the reason I reached out) I waited another 6 months to get the stair plans. (You read that correctly) Several emails to him after weeks of not hearing anything. His condescending communication and unprofessionalism are just some of the reasons why I would never, ever refer him or consider him for work again. After paying him thousands for both jobs on top of both permit fees, he wanted to charge me another $1k fee to have someone wait at the building department because he didn't have the time. He explained that he now puts this in his new bids but never discussed it with me. Within days after the plans were received, he said the contractor and I can not use any of his plans for the job. I paid him every dime we agreed on and he walked away and breached contract. There are plenty of folks to call on in the Bay Area and you should avoid Engin Yagmur of ECR Engineering for any of your structural needs. Save your time and money and hire someone professional that treats you the same! read more

I've had a disastrous renovation at my home, and the contractor has dropped by the ball on many things. I brought in Engin from ECR to help me right the ship by getting building plans approved by the city (after my contractor failed an inspection). He did a speedy and thorough job and a very reasonable price compared to what others were quoting for the same thing. He also helped me look through my expenses to the contractor and figure out how much I'd been overcharged, and helped me figure out that I didn't need a bunch of extra work that the contractor said I needed to do!
