The decor is simply elegant and beautiful. We were in room 4, with a view of the downtown. We had a glass of wine and just took in the scenery. SSBB is located next door to the wonderful restaurant "The Loft", so it's very convenient to walk downstairs, have a great dinner and enjoy the downtown scene. Breakfast from SSBB Bakery is complimentary with your stay. The bakery is closed on Sunday mornings, but hubby and I were left some wonderful pastries the night of our arrival. From the high ceilings to the immaculate hardwood floors, you have to ask.... why even bother to stay in a hotel when you can stay in a beautiful condo for the same price. Whenever I'm in Laurel, this will be the only place that I stay. Oh forgot to mention, it was extremely cleaned and well stocked with all the kitchen supplies you need including coffee!!!!

The rooms are impeccably appointed, chef Erica's breakfasts are gourmet delights and the B&B's grounds are beautiful. The new swimming pool and hot tub are gorgeous and inviting. Jenny's Hideaway has one ensuite on the main floor and 3 rooms on the second floor, two of which are en-suites. There is also a 3-bedroom/2-bath cottage on the grounds, with full kitchen, perfect for a family getaway. Jenny and John are both so friendly and personable, ready to accommodate any questions or issues. The small touches are wonderful: essential oils and bath salts for the soaking tub, a generous supply of thick, luxurious towels, a clothes steamer, steps to get into bed. We really enjoyed Jenny telling how they took a falling-down house and created the jewel that is the Jenny's Hideaway we enjoy today. Jenny is a native of Laurel and worked around the country in the hospitality industry before moving home to Laurel. She knows the town history and her neighbors. She also made it clear the current town celebrities, Ben and Erin Napier, are truly the friendly, accessible hometown neighbors they appear to be on their show. We actually stayed at Jenny's "by accident" when we arrived in town to find the hotel we had booked could not check us in because of technology issues. We found Jenny's in an online search and she welcomed us so graciously. We had no idea we had landed in the lap of luxury.

I wore shower shoes because I didn't feel comfortable putting my bare feet on the floor. The walls were thin! I was up until 2am one night because my neighbor was blasting his tv and I called the front desk..they said they couldn't get the guy to answer the phone or the door. I was told I would receive points for the compliant but I never did. Breakfast was breakfast...eggs and some kind of meat every morning. They have a lot of options, typical hotel breakfast. The front desk staff was nice. I wasn't a fan of the GM due to him changing the quoted price for my family reunion group rate but it's ok. Overall, I would stay here again next time I'm town visiting. But I definitely don't think it was worth the money we paid. You really pay for the name.

Stayed a duration of 6 days straight…read more Before I made it inside the room, I was approached by a homeless man walking throughout the property, knocking on doors asking for money. (I was extremely frightened) First room assigned, everything was in working condition and appeared cleaned. The only complaint was that the guest upstairs were partying around 3-5am in the room above. After the first day, I was moved to the back side of the unit. I was mortified with the condition of the room. (Pics below) The refrigerator which is a main amenity of the room was broken, and dirty. The bathroom sink had a black residue that hadn't been wiped prior to the next guest. The bath towel appeared nasty and unclean. The nightstand and end table had a sticky residue on it and floor was unswept and needed a good mop! After requesting to be moved, the next assignment had not even been clean. (Bed was not made, tv on, etc) Overall the final room was okay. You get what you pay for so the price definitely coincides with the quality of service!!

My sister is staying a couple doors down and her room is fine, I guess someone just got lazy and didn't want to clean! The manager was very snappy with out check-in. There is definitely a language barrier and that was extremely frustrating to deal with. This is officially the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Do yourself a favor and run for the HILLS. YUCK. They got us in quickly and no eye rolls and glares because we had fussy children. The check in person was SO sweet! Our 4 year old was very energized due to being in a car for hours, but the heated pool was the perfect way to wear out a little of her energy. Would stay here again for sure! Didn't notice anything creepy or sketchy going on. Nothing super fancy, but a great, clean family friendly place to stay if you're in a pinch.
