    Paint on door frames
    Shannon H.

This place is beyond horrible. Only reason it's getting 1 star is because 1) I have to leave a star and 2) The front desk girl was nice. I booked on the app, no where on the app does it say there is an additional $50 deposit. But I agreed to it, because she said I will get it back after they clean the room and make sure there were no damages. Ok fine. So after a week and many phone calls and leaving a crappy review on the app, I finally get a email from Choice Hotels Management and they refunded my $50 The room needed update big time. It looked like there was a hole in the bathroom door and they just filled it in with drywall putty. There was nail polish or some kind of paint on the door frames. Some kind of black ring around the sink, something all over the mirror. The little fridge was nasty. Just skip this place.

We checked in to learn they were not serving breakfast as the website stated. (I understand COVID has jacked with a lot of businesses but) the pool is also closed (again, probably COVID related) the room was very damp and musky, had not turned on the A/C prior to our arrival. We had to leave for a while to let it cool down. The room was ok, not exactly "clean" as I would have hoped; sheets had visible dirt spots, toilet paper holder falling out of the wall, and no soap, shampoo or conditioner in the room. I would have liked to see a bit more effort put into the room, since the other amenities were unavailable (you would think they would have the time). Ok, but still disappointed.

Sleep Inn And Suites - Gallatin

    (7 reviews)

I recently stayed at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Gallatin, Tennessee for a family funeral and overall…read moreit was mostly positive experience with a few frustrations work mentioning. The Good: The location is fantastic right in the middle of everything. There are plenty of places to eat within minutes, plus Walmart and several clothing stores close by which made running errands for things we forgot really convenient. The room itself was clean and while the beds weren't the most comfortable I've ever slept on they were management for a couple of nights. The breakfast was one of the highlights of the stay. They offered a great spread of hot foods like waffles, eggs, and breakfast meats along with cereal, bagels, and other simple options. They also have a 24-hour coffee station near the front desk which can be a life saver for those like us who traveled far. The Bad: The parking situation needs improvement. The lot is very small, and if the hotel is fully booked you may end up parking along the curb or needing permission to use the rewards members spots. Larger vehicles and trailers also take up multiple spots, which make the situation difficult. Another issue is that there rarely seems to be a front desk employee actually at the front desk. you have to ring a bell and wait to be seen through cameras, which can be inconvenient especially during the day when people are constantly checking in or out. My biggest frustration came after checkout. We booked through a 3rd party and choose the option to pay-at-property, even upon check-in we were asked for a photo-id and a credit card to charge the room to. When we returned home, we realized the wrong card had been charged and the card we handed was never used. I called on 12/10 to clear things up and ensure both cards would not be charged, but the woman who answered the phone had a very hard time understanding what I was asking. She thought I was calling to book a new stay, then assumed I was currently checked-into the hotel and asked for my room number. Eventually, she said the person who checked us in would have to call me back to explain why she didn't charge the correct card. When I asked when that would be she said the next time she came to work. Meanwhile, I still have a pending charge nearly a week after checkout. If someone is working the front desk, they need to be able to communicate clearly, understand billing questions, and know how to direct concerns to a manager. Asking a guest to wait days for the original employee to return isn't acceptable when it comes to charges paid by guest. Finial thoughts: This hotel has a lot going for it-great location, solid breakfast, and friendly staff. But the inconsistence between employees, parking limitations definitely need major attention. Which this improvements, I would consider staying again.

Incorrect Check‑In Instructions The self‑check‑in directions provided were inaccurate. The instructions stated to "turn right toward the barn", but the correct route required an immediate left. After a long drive, unclear directions created unnecessary confusion and delay. 2. Power Hookup Failure & Safety Concerns After setting up my tent at 7:24 PM, I discovered that none of the four outlets were functioning. When I called for assistance, I was repeatedly told to "press the reset button," despite explaining that the outlet was not a GFCI, which is a safety requirement under Tennessee electrical standards. This was not only unhelpful--it was unsafe. 3. Lack of Communication & Delayed Support Between 7:24 PM and 9:15 PM, I made multiple calls for updates: 8:25 PM - Called again because no one followed up. 9:00 PM - Walked to the office; no staff present. Calls went to voicemail, even when selecting the Urgent option. 9:15 PM - Finally informed that no technician was available until the next morning. At no point was I proactively updated, and no immediate solution was offered until I insisted. 4. Poorly Communicated Alternative Accommodation Only after pressing for a resolution was I offered a cabin. The instructions given were simply: "It's the cabin with the red roof and red deck. You can find it on the campsite." I explained multiple times that I was facing Highway 109 and needed clear directions. Instead of providing assistance, the staff member repeatedly said, "You can easily find it, it's the only one with a red roof." After a 10‑hour drive, breaking down my tent in the dark, and navigating a nearly pitch‑black campground, this vague guidance was unacceptable. A basic courtesy would have been for a staff member to meet me, use a flashlight, or at least point me in the correct direction. Instead, I was left to wander the property alone until another camper kindly helped me locate the cabin. To add to the disappointment, the "farm" itself was poorly maintained. The gazebo area was covered in bird droppings, and the netting above it was improperly secured, trapping several birds -- some alive, some dead. The overall environment did not resemble a well‑kept campground. A long‑term guest named Tom allowed his husky to roam off‑leash. At one point, the dog nearly urinated on my tent. He also did not pick up after his dog. The bathroom facilities were equally substandard. There was only one toilet booth and one shower booth for the entire area, both built with noticeably poor workmanship. I have never encountered a campground with such limited and inadequate restroom facilities. 5. No Support During Checkout At 10:14 PM, I called again for checkout guidance and was hung up on. My follow‑up voicemail was never returned. I checked out at 4:00 AM, left the key inside, and locked the door without any staff interaction. 6. Unprofessional Call the Next Day The following afternoon at 3:42 PM, I received a call asking whether I had checked out and how they were supposed to access the cabin without the key. This made it clear that no one had listened to the voicemail I left the night before, where I explained exactly how I checked out and where I left the key. The staff member then made an issue out of not having a spare key -- which raises concerns about their preparedness if a guest ever loses one. When I explained again that I had left a voicemail and followed reasonable checkout steps, she responded rudely, saying: "We upgraded you to a cabin and I hope you are happy being a rude guest," and then hung up on me. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable in any hospitality setting.
