The lone bit of wall decor

We only stayed here for one night, but we had no issues. I had reserved the room months ago as we were attending a Loreena McKennitt concert in Portland and didn't want to pay three times the rate for a hotel there. They had the reservation no problem and we were charged the same amount agreed to at the time of reservation. The clerk was helpful and friendly. I asked for a first floor room and it was no problem. The room was fine. Clean as far as I noticed with my lack of obsession with cleanliness. The beds were comfortable and the microwave serviceable once I finally settled the plate onto the revolving arms properly. The breakfast offerings are a typical continental variety of fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads and, well, boiled eggs. But I give them credit; some hotels never started up breakfast suspended during the worst of Covid-19. The heating unit was a little loud, as they tend to be. We didn't use the fridge or television. The hotel is very handy to an Irving gas station/convenience store setup and to I295.

Booked through Expedia, for the price it is great. Comfortable and decently clean, nothing really to complain about for the price, outdated blankets. No bed bugs! No cigarette smell. It's perfect for the price and if you venture off during the day and just need a place to sleep for the night. 2 queen size bed , flat screen tv, fridge, microwave, makeup wipes, shampoo and conditioner, and soaps are supplied. Ice is on the 2nd floor. Enjoy!

I understand Econo Lodge is not the Taj Mahal. I really get it. I'm used to staying in lower end motel/hotels...BUT as a former housekeeper that worked on Hampton Beach NH (in a popular low end resort) I expected better accommodations even for a low-end motel. First of all, when we walked in, the microwave wasn't plugged in! To heat up our food I had to pull the microwave up and out to plug in next to the lamp. Oh, and the remote control didn't work. ‍ Next, I noticed while my 3 year old was being 3 and throwing stuff everywhere--toddler parents im sure you get it--my son took the cushion off the chair. Thank God he did--I noticed what looks like possibly blood stains on the cushion. Isn't that a health hazard??! Next when I took a shower, I noticed hair--not my hair or any of my family's hair--somebody else's hair--on the shower wall. I'm a tad bit skeeved out and I will be reporting all of this to Choice Hotels. And to confirm Alyssa's previous statement--the Wifi, which has 3 different connections---were all spotty at best. If you can deal with all this hoopla for one night for under $100, then this is the place for you. For Metro Portland you won't find a place cheaper than this. But staff here needs to step their game up on the Cleanliness factor. If I could give this place a half a star I would. PS: Their breakfast options were mediocre at best. I suggest if you want decent on the go breakfast, go to any Mister Bagel in the Portland area!

The rooms are newly renovated and was very clean when we stayed there! We booked on hotels.com and the room looked exactly like the photos online. Customer service was good. No one disturbed us while we were there and we couldn't hear the highway at all so the soundproofing was very good. The bathroom was cleaned well and definitely smelled like it was recently cleaned. The complementary breakfast was pretty average. There was a very small selection of food and there was no meat/eggs served. But, the waffle maker made up for it.

Clean, affordable, friendly staff. Minutes from LL Bean campus. Breakfast bar was well maintained by staff. We would stay again.

It's close to the shopping in Freeport, about a 3 minute drive, and a quick 20 minute drive into Portland.

In retrospect, I would have missed a treat had we not stayed at the Brewster House Bed & Breakfast on Main Street in Freeport, Maine. Owned and run by Kelleigh and Dave, the latter is a trained chef, and the former is a consummate professional in caring for their customers. We also had the pleasure of meeting one of their children and heard a couple of hilarious stories about some oil changing mishaps. Turns out, the breakfast part of the B&B is my element. Instead of one long table, which some B&Bs provide, Brewster House offers smaller tables for two or in our case, tables together to accommodate three guests. We were all seated in one room, a dark blue-walled space with white antique dishes and a moose head as decoration, close enough to talk, yet separated enough to have private conversations. All of us guests chatted and laughed and shared stories as Kelleigh deftly served and described each day's three courses. Dave occasionally looked out, but seemingly a bit shy for compliments stayed in his kingdom of that wonderful kitchen. Here's to Dave who shared some of his culinary acumen in the forms of shirred eggs with fresh greens, firm peaches donned with whipped topping, blueberry-kissed French toast, and so very moist waffles with dreamy homemade syrup. The bath towels were of good, heavy quality, which is important to me and the lotions and soap with little images of a Maine village were nice touches. Being from Florida, we weren't certain if we were dreaming at night when air conditioning was not needed. The property is several decades old and one can hear that when ascending and descending stairs, but they were sturdy so that's all that really matters. I sat on the multi-colored rockers on the porch at the side a time or two and absorbed the peace that I felt at Brewster House. I may never visit Maine again, but Brewster House Bed & Breakfast is etched into my memory as one of my favorite things about my first visit to Freeport, Portland and surrounding quaint towns in Maine. If you ever plan on visiting the area, give this historic location a try.

My only complaint is that the bedside lighting in our room isn't sufficient for reading. Mood lighting ~ check. Reading ~ you'll need to use your phone or a flashlight. Or, perhaps the intent of a B&B, read in the common room with your fellow guests.
