This is the second time my family had stayed here on our way home to Texas from Pennsylvania, and it wont be the last. John, the manager is amazing. He cares about his guests and is very friendly. i enjoyed chatting with him upon arrival & check out. This hotel is super close to a ton of restaurants and gas stations and it the most reasonably priced hotel within miles.. and ive done tons of research. Forrest City is also populated well with police presence(the police station is close and the officers and ther families frequent the local restaurants) making me feel super safe in an unknown(to me) city. It is tucked away in a corner of the end of a street and both times we have stayed, we have felt safe and it's nice and quiet. All of the people in this city are also very friendly. The beds are super comfortable and that is importsnt to me. AC cools perfectly and rooms are always perfectly clean. I cannot comment on breakfast as both times we have stayed, we have left very early and havent eaten. read more

We needed a place to stay. The price was reasonable and only charged an extra 10 for the dog. Room was clean and smelled fresh. Had available WiFi which worked well. Tc had plenty of stations and was easy to use. Hard laminate flooring which was different but fine. First floor with access to the outside. Easy with the dog. Didn't appear to be a very nice area but there were no issues what so ever. They did offer a minimal breakfast, fruit, muffins, cereal and coffee. The owners were very nice. the rooms were alright. it had a odd smell to ours. we can just tell that the laundry ladies don't really wash the blankets and sheets because we found a beer cap and tissue in the bed. the sheets didn't smell good either. the bed was really hard too. other than that, not a bad place. i just think cleaning ladies need to clean better. read more

This hotel was super sketchy. The room was not very clean and very outdated. There is exposed wiring, dingy sheets and towels, a mini fridge that freezes your food. The area around the ice machine was filthy and had trash in the area. The breakfast consisted of a few muffins, cereal, bananas and apples. I would never stay there again. The only positive experience at that hotel was the very sweet young man who was working there. If we weren't so tired from driving, I would have left after seeing the condition of the room. read more

The outside of this hotel is much nicer than the surrounding area, and you will need to follow your GPS device to get to it, as it is off of the main road on a side street. But the parking lot is clean, and everything was well lit there as well. The checking in experience was simple and fast. I was met by a fellow that was later referred to as John by another traveller, and he was cordial, quick, and left no stone unturned in his explanation of what there was to offer. Our room was picture perfect, and there was nothing out of place, no bugs of any kind, it was picturesque as a matter of fact. The television is a flat screen with a smaller range of the more popular cable channels. I did not see any premium channels, but I also didn't look. The wifi was excellent and kept a solid connection without interruption during my work shift. The bed is very comfortable, not too soft, not too hard. As for the actual amenities, there is a tub, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. All are ready for use when you arrive. We did not need to make any adjustments. Checking out was a cinch. The housekeeping team was already out and about, putting their all into the work. I was greeted with a smile, and they wanted to make sure that my stay had been pleasant. When I thought I had locked myself out of the room and my vehicle keys inside, they wasted no time to get me back in. The good thing about this area is that you will not be far from just about any fast food chain you want, and there is both a Waffle House and a Walmart close by. We found this to be very useful as we were familiar with this area from my previous employment, but I was not cognizant of that when I made the booking. Choice Hotels has done very well with this location, and I believe it is the staff that makes it so. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, they are serious about making your stay pleasant and worth what you paid. read more

As a general rule, I avoid Econo Lodge because my experiences with them have not been good. However, it was late, we were tired, we didn't want to spend a lot of money and the billboards said this is the newest hotel in the area. We took a chance. Glad we did because the motel did seem to be quite new. The person at the front desk--one of the owners--was very friendly and kind. He knew we were exhausted from driving and gave us a lovely room, on the first floor, near the office, so we wouldn't have to trek our bags very far. And he gave us a late check out. The area/town, in general, seemed...something...but I felt safe in the parking lot because it is very well lit (as are the passageways to the rooms) and there were security cameras. We were driving a big moving truck and he came out to show us the best place to park so we could get out easily the next day. There is also a AAA discount and he upgraded our room on top of that. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom new. Breakfast, however, is a very basic continental. Also, the ice machine didn't work. read more

VERY VERY MEAN PEOPLE WORK HERE. They will get the karma they deserve. But it's literally thanksgiving and my wife and I are moving across the country with no where to stay in the middle of nowhere. My good friend paid for a room for us to sleep for the night since we have 24 hours more of driving to go and need to rest. The reservation was in my name and I had the card on file. It's perfectly acceptable for someone to pay for someone else's room. She literally booked it NON-REFUNDABLE online for us. They would not even let me finish my sentences without interrupting me. Needless to say, they would not let us check in and started screaming at me when I started crying and threatened to call the cops because I was crying just wanting to sleep. They would not speak English to us and were extremely rude, mean, and unhelpful. Never have I ever experienced such horrible people in my life. Do not stay here. Literally go anywhere else. Absolutely HORRIBLE. For starters, my family booked 4 rooms here. 2 of them had roaches. The sheets were Filthy, Dirty, Wrinkled as if they hadn't been washed, Greasy, Stained, and filled with cigarette burns in rooms listed as non-smoking. They over charged me. I booked through Expedia. Bill should have been $160. They asked for cash at the hotel so I paid in cash. They charged me $168 and I figured the extra $8 was the insurance for Expedia. I gave $180 and they tried not to give me my change back until I asked for it. They then marked a different amount on my receipt when I was leaving. I didn't even mention the bites I got all over my arms and legs so be sure to check for BED BUGS. I thought I checked out probably not good enough. Then when Expedia charged my card the extra $9 for insurance that I thought I paid at the hotel. The hotel told me they could only refund me in cash, even though I live 5 hours a way. I had Expedia call them and they lied and told Expedia they was processing the refund. Then called me back saying they can't process a refund and that they would give me a discount. Because they lied to Expedia, Expedia tried not to help me thinking that the hotel was doing the right then when they really were lying and scheming. I was told to drive the 5 hours to get my $8 refund and drive 5 hours back. No breakfast. They have a lobby set up but you're not allowed in the lobby. You have to talk with them through glass in a small box space between the doors. The parking lot is EXTREMELY raggedy with dips that will tear your wheel alignment up. AVOID AT ALL COST! Highly DO NOT recommend this. Pick anywhere else to stay. Literally anywhere else. read more

This is a very good highway hotel for a one night stay. The rooms are clean and the air conditioner WORKS! However, the continental breakfast was disappointing to say the least. They happened to fire the manager the day prior to our stay so I am holding out hope that they can up their breakfast game next time. I don't usually give negative reviews. I prefer to praise places I really loved, but I would not recommend this location to anyone. The first room we were given smelled horrible, and we requested a different room. The couple working check in we friendly enough and gave us a key to check a second room. It was after 9 pm and we just needed to sleep during a cross country road trip. The second room still smelled, but was slightly less pungent. The carpet had stains. I had to kill 6 bugs in the room, including ants, spiders, moths & mosquitos. Spider egg case in bathroom behind door. Dirty, mildewed washcloths left behind in shower curtain. Shower drain did not remain open, curtain rod was falling off wall & rusted. Made me feel like the bathroom had not been cleaned. Front door deadbolt would not engage. Ground floor room with people yelling outside after midnight did not make me feel safe. read more

This place was horrible. Very rude. They called us at 8 pm and said if we where not there in 15 minutes he was going to cancel our reservation! He said check in was at 3 and we where 5 hrs late. Never heard of such a thing! Then he got into argument with my husband and said we could not stay there. Then he changed his mind. My husband is an elite customer and has never had this experience before. He has probably spent 1/3 of his life in hotels. They had signs on every thing Don't do this. Don't do that. The carpets felt wet. Dead bugs the floor. Sign on desk says No Pets. If found you will be charged $250. Ridiculous amount. Canceled the second night went up to Comfort Inn Suites. We stayed in this hotel last evening and had some real frustrations! I was please, however after calling choice hotels to express my concerns. The only pro to this hotel is that it was very recently renovated Fall 2016. The management will surely run this place into the ground pretty soon. Very unfriendly and unprofessional. His wife and child were sleeping in the room behind the desk. We booked on Priceline but he insisted we had to pay an additional $11 at check-in. He insisted we pay it, call Priceline, or he would just cancel the reservation. Finally we got to the room and there was only 1 towel and 1 wash cloth despite being a double room. Breakfast was not setup by the hour stated on the sign. When I went down, I had to ring the doorbell to wake them up. I was so aggravated that we simply just left at that point. We've stayed in a lot of cheap hotels ($50-75) for quick overnights while traveling and this has easily been the worst customer service we've ever had. read more

Had reservations for June the 9th, when we arrived there were only three cars in the parking lot, we went to the front desk and gave your name and the lady told us to wait sa minute, she came out with a guy and he took over signing us in, I ask if we could see the room and he said No,, He said you should have read the reviews, I politely said we did and I would like to see the room, he then said he had the right to choose who could stay at his lodge and told us to leave, I have not seen someone so rude and mean, if you need a place to stay I would not go there, he evidently doesn't need the busy. read more

This hotel is not worth the money. Stayed one night and will never stay there again. Room looked nice and price was ok but once I got in the room it was filled with mosquitoes. I called the front desk to see if they had any bug killer and No.....they only offered some "OFF". They did not even ask to move me to another room and when I asked they said they could not move me. Ended up killing over 100 mosquitoes and did not sleep the whole night. Econo Lodge just lost one customer.....#pitiful read more

We chose the hotel because it was brand new. The room's paint and decor was nice. However when we arrived there were no towels in our room. An hour and half later my son walked to the front desk to request towels and the wifi password. The GM told him they would bring us towels and gave the password. 2 hrs later I called the front desk and a lady answered (which we found out later that it's GM's wife) I explained to her about my son asking for the towels, she then argued with me stated he did not come to the front desk, then she laughed at me and pretty much said I was lying. She also told me to come get the towels, I told her no, someone can bring them. She brought 2 towels to the door and when my son answered the door she looked right at him and told him he did not come to the desk. He explained that he talked to a gentleman and she asked for his name. My son replied I have no idea it's the guy that was there. Then he told her we needed 4 towels for 4 people staying in the room ( my husband, myself, son and daughter) she then argued only two towels per room. Housekeeping finally brought us our towels and the lady fussed about how may she gave. My son then asked for the GM's information, she hesitated giving him the information. Later that night we had forgotten our key to the room and had to ask for another one. You are not allowed in the lobby, you have to talk through a window. The same guy (the GM) was there and did not give my son any trouble about the key, but told my son if you call corporate I will charge you more (because we had 4 people) if you do not call I will not charge you more. I then went inside and told him I was not trying to cheat the system if you need to charge for 4 people than do it. I then tried to explain what had happened with the lady and how we were treated. He did not believe me and he laughed as well. I had to show him pictures that I had taken to prove we had no towels. He treated me very ugly and unprofessional. The next day we went for breakfast, there was cereal but no milk, a waffle iron and orange juice, that's it. We also noticed that morning in our room we had a coffee maker and coffee in our room but no cups. So we walked over there and got cups. There were bugs in the bathroom and the shower curtain is hung too low that it gathers in the tub and is starting to mold. We left for the day, we came back that night and they came in took our towels and left two towels, did not make the beds nor did any cleaning. Needless to say we will never go back or recommend this hotel to anyone. read more
