This place was infested with cockroaches. they allow people to make all kind of racket coming in and out at 2:30 3 o'clock in the morning. then I spoke with another gentleman and they only charged him and his partner $50 for a room. After charging me 85 with the military discount. I would not let my dog sleep in this place again. I will send pictures of the room when I get back to it. Is the absolute worst motel I've ever seen in my life. I would never ever again spend even $20 per night in a place like this.

I say that with all politeness but I wouldn't be being fully transparent if I didn't mention it. If you are new to the area and looking for a place to stay nearby, this Hampton Inn location is an excellent decision. When I told my son we'd grab a place to stay 2minutes from the base the evening before he was set to report back at 6a, he wasn't overly thrilled. I assured him it looked ok from my research. As soon as he realized it was next door to the Infantry Museum he knew it was ok. The staff were very friendly. We slept well at night. The hotel has a pool and serves a hot breakfast in the morning. They have a small military discount and while I haven't stayed at anything on the base I can confidently say this is a safe and great place to stay if you're looking to be nearby. If you're traveling as a family, the pool and brekke options may be especially nice. Had I known there was a pool sooner, I think we would have spent a bit of time out there. Perfect for summer stays! They had cookies out at night and I spotted grab and go style lunch/snack packs during the day, in addition to coffee/tea/hot cocoa out 24/7. They have small refrigerators in the room (no freezer) we did root beer floats for dessert but ended up needing to toss our ice-cream as we wouldn't be able to freeze it. Plenty of safe, lit parking in large lot out front. I mention this as we had two cars (a rental and his car we'd have transported to Columbus) full of my sons belongings and I really wanted to ensure that his items were safe overnight. Exceptional waffle maker at the breakfast buffet! Made the most perfectly crisp waffle :) Clean, comfy and caring. You're in good hands here.

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton is located on Dawson Rd in Albany. The rooms are very spacious. My…read moreroom contained a large work desk. Pullout sofa if needed. King size comfy bed. Walk-In shower. Microwave and small fridge. I slept peacefully. Woke up ready to take on the day. I grabbed quick breakfast on my way out. They offered eggs, bacon & sausage. Toast, bagels or Muffins. Host of cereal and fruits. There's a pancake maker and oatmeal. So if you're visiting Hampton Inn in Albany, try out this location.

The hotel is pet friendly, as is the staff. Festive decorations in the lobby (someone was ready for Christmas before Thanksgiving) :-). Our room was clean; decent sized bathroom, though the hotel seemed to be a bit stingy on the bath linens (no hand towels were placed in the bathroom, no extra towels or extra bath/wash cloths). I am sure there would not have been a problem to ask, but it was no big deal, particularly due to our very short stay. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. Typical "powdered" eggs, breakfast potatoes (which were a bit bland); the sausage looked pretty good, but I don't eat beef or pork, so not sure how it tasted. There was oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, bread for toast, and various types of pastries. The staff was super nice, even offering to take photos of my friend and I before we left the hotel for our gala. I would stay at this hotel again.

This is long but stay with me. It will save your sanity…read more We stopped through while going to Florida. I am currently 8 months pregnant and my husband and I just needed a place to stay for the night with our 15 month old daughter. We lasted about 20 minutes because it was so gross. You know when you walk in somewhere and just start getting itchy and wanna cry? Stay here if that's the vibe you want. It was a no smoking room that smelled like my aunts apartment who smokes 6 packs a day. There were even cigarette holes in the bed sheets. The 3 local flies seemed like this was their room as they wouldn't leave. Wouldn't even go near the door. I know things like that happen but 3 flies? Come on. It smelled like a morgue but maybe that's the kind of cleaning products they use? Idk.. I'm not a cleaner. I cried because I'm pregnant and feel itchy and it's just overall gross so I tell my husband I can't stay there. He's not a go with the flow guy but even he said he couldn't stay it was so gross. I told him we had to leave and he walked into the office and said we needed to leave for an emergency (a lie, I know but I didn't wanna tell people I'd rather stay in a cemetery.) The first thing out of the ladies mouth was "we can't give you a refund" which sounds like she's said this 1 or 500 times before. My husband isn't a man of too many words but when we left he said, "I should have known it would have been bad when the manager/owner came out in his pajamas at 5:30pm."

It looked less than desirable, but we didn't have much choice. We checked in, and within five minutes of being in the room, we saw roaches. Needless to say, we IMMEDIATELY checked out.
