Rooms have carpet that felt wet. Towles were gray,but no stains. So in overall if you must stay here it is ok. Also this hotel would benefit to have EV chargers on site because there aren't many options near by.... Plus if they'd serv food even just bar food,quick bites and simple drinks that would have been so great because there aren't many places to eat in the area and to all the places you must drive. If you are new to the area and looking for a place to stay nearby, this Hampton Inn location is an excellent decision. When I told my son we'd grab a place to stay 2minutes from the base the evening before he was set to report back at 6a, he wasn't overly thrilled. I assured him it looked ok from my research. As soon as he realized it was next door to the Infantry Museum he knew it was ok. The staff were very friendly. We slept well at night. The hotel has a pool and serves a hot breakfast in the morning. They have a small military discount and while I haven't stayed at anything on the base I can confidently say this is a safe and great place to stay if you're looking to be nearby. If you're traveling as a family, the pool and brekke options may be especially nice. Had I known there was a pool sooner, I think we would have spent a bit of time out there. Perfect for summer stays! They had cookies out at night and I spotted grab and go style lunch/snack packs during the day, in addition to coffee/tea/hot cocoa out 24/7. They have small refrigerators in the room (no freezer) we did root beer floats for dessert but ended up needing to toss our ice-cream as we wouldn't be able to freeze it. Plenty of safe, lit parking in large lot out front. I mention this as we had two cars (a rental and his car we'd have transported to Columbus) full of my sons belongings and I really wanted to ensure that his items were safe overnight. A lot of my coworkers came here as well. There were a few tables left when we came and we were seated in the same room where all of the food. The staff here were pretty friendly and nice. They came by our table every so often to check on us and if we needed any other drink refilled. I don't remember every single food item there, but it ranged from mac and cheese to calamari to fried chicken. I thought the food was not bad and for under $10 per person for lunch, I'd say it's a good deal.

I am currently 8 months pregnant and my husband and I just needed a place to stay for the night with our 15 month old daughter. We lasted about 20 minutes because it was so gross. You know when you walk in somewhere and just start getting itchy and wanna cry? Stay here if that's the vibe you want. It was a no smoking room that smelled like my aunts apartment who smokes 6 packs a day. There were even cigarette holes in the bed sheets. The 3 local flies seemed like this was their room as they wouldn't leave. Wouldn't even go near the door. I know things like that happen but 3 flies? Come on. It smelled like a morgue but maybe that's the kind of cleaning products they use? Idk.. I'm not a cleaner. I cried because I'm pregnant and feel itchy and it's just overall gross so I tell my husband I can't stay there. He's not a go with the flow guy but even he said he couldn't stay it was so gross. I told him we had to leave and he walked into the office and said we needed to leave for an emergency (a lie, I know but I didn't wanna tell people I'd rather stay in a cemetery.) The first thing out of the ladies mouth was "we can't give you a refund" which sounds like she's said this 1 or 500 times before. It looked less than desirable, but we didn't have much choice. We checked in, and within five minutes of being in the room, we saw roaches. Needless to say, we IMMEDIATELY checked out.
