No bar in the hotel and the only place in walking distance is a Walmart. Stuff was ok. Hotel wasn't the cleanest....Sticky floors everywhere for both of the days we stayed. Rooms have carpet that felt wet. Towles were gray, but no stains. So in overall if you must stay here it is ok. Also this hotel would benefit to have EV chargers on site because there aren't many options near by.... Plus if they'd serv food even just bar food, quick bites and simple drinks that would have been so great because there aren't many places to eat in the area and to all the places you must drive. Only walmart is walkable....

I am currently 8 months pregnant and my husband and I just needed a place to stay for the night with our 15 month old daughter. We lasted about 20 minutes because it was so gross. You know when you walk in somewhere and just start getting itchy and wanna cry? Stay here if that's the vibe you want. It was a no smoking room that smelled like my aunts apartment who smokes 6 packs a day. There were even cigarette holes in the bed sheets. The 3 local flies seemed like this was their room as they wouldn't leave. Wouldn't even go near the door. I know things like that happen but 3 flies? Come on. It smelled like a morgue but maybe that's the kind of cleaning products they use? Idk.. I'm not a cleaner. I cried because I'm pregnant and feel itchy and it's just overall gross so I tell my husband I can't stay there. He's not a go with the flow guy but even he said he couldn't stay it was so gross. I told him we had to leave and he walked into the office and said we needed to leave for an emergency (a lie, I know but I didn't wanna tell people I'd rather stay in a cemetery.) The first thing out of the ladies mouth was "we can't give you a refund" which sounds like she's said this 1 or 500 times before. My husband isn't a man of too many words but when we left he said, "I should have known it would have been bad when the manager/owner came out in his pajamas at 5:30pm."

I would not recommend staying here until they are a full service hotel again.

A business trip required me to stay the night in Eufaula, AL…read more Eufaula is a very small city - there are no rental cars, no taxi cabs, no Uber. So transportation from the local general aviation airport into town after regular business hours CAN be a challenge. Thankfully, the airport manager recommended the Econo Lodge and said the manager would likely pick me up at the airport. Jay, the manager, was eager to pick me up. As it turned out, I was able to borrow an airport courtesy car, but Jay's willingness to help me out was GREATLY appreciated! The hotel itself - well, it's an Econo Lodge. But the room was generally clean, as was the rest of the hotel and the lady at the front desk was polite and efficient. The rate was a good value for an Econo Lodge. If you find yourself in Eufaula and don't need to stay in a luxury hotel, the Econo Lodge is a very good choice.

I didn't get to meet the family, but the owner/desk guy is super nice and chatty. I happened to route back past here after leaving pre-dawn and stopped back in - yes he got my room key, yes I missed breakfast coming and going, but he brought me a little food anyway. So nice. Anyway, as for my room? Clean, mostly working except in the bathroom... and pretty quiet. Although rooms are outside-entry and I could hear the road noise, the road has no traffic overnight and it's not near an Interstate like many hotels. Comfy bed, plenty of pillows, though I found myself switching pillows every couple of hours overnight as one sagged down where my head rested. C'est dormir. Re: the bathroom? I was in the farthest room from the front. It took a long time for the water to heat, which I kinda got from that distance as well as it having been sub-freezing the night before, rare for Alabama. The water did eventually heat, and that is how I noticed the bathtub didn't drain well. The owner did promise to look into that for me. I also had to hold the toilet handle awhile to get it to flush, again a function of distance from the water source, again not really a concern. The verdict? Absolutely a good place to stay if you find yourself in the area overnight. I just would ask for a room closer to the front. (:

However we do like to check out the sheets before laying down for a good nights rest, however in two different rooms there was bed bugs or and track marks along the seams of these mattresses that we where told were new. Also while we had already entered the second room we where given we started immediately looking over the bedding. After entering the room and had the door closed behind us. The owner was standing outside the room and then proceeded to enter the room uninvited without knocking or asking. Then he had left. So we proceeded to our investigation, he entered the room a second time without knocking or asking. Just barged in this time with a slight attitude that we were even looking to make sure there was none. There however were track marks on the seams and sheds. We left and went to eat, and decided upon returning that we were not going to stay the night. We politely asked the owner if we could receive a refund for the second night when he got mad and said "no return for tonight or tomorrow!" Then closed the through window. So here we are submitting a long review of our loss. If you see the super 8 just keep on going towards Georgia there's better hotels.

General aviation folks traveling near Eufaula: this is a great airport!!!!!…read more Okay, it's an older airport that is a little on the quiet side, but I can't say enough good things about the service! I arrived at KEUF just before sunset on a business trip. As I was securing my airplane, Grace, the airport manager, appeared with her dog and cat in tow and provided some great recommendations for lodging and dinner. Eufaula is a small city with no taxi cabs or Uber, but Grace has a small courtesy car available for overnight guests. Courtesy cars used to be commonplace at general aviation airports, but in the past several years, they have all but disappeared. The combination of expense, liability, and the regrettable abuse of these vehicles by inconsiderate guests has made the courtesy car a rarity these days. But not in Eufaula! The following week, I had the opportunity to spend another night in Eufaula on my way BACK from my trip and once again, had the good luck to enjoy the use of the courtesy car, the economical comfort of the Econo Lodge, and Grace's flawless hospitality. A final note about the airport itself - the runway, ramp, and self serve fueling area are all in excellent condition, but the tie down ropes on the ramp tie down spaces are either absent or substantially dry rotted from age, so bring your own tie down ropes / chains / ratcheting straps.
