Going into the office we were greeted by Vicki the owner/manager/and more and received the warmest of welcomes. She said that she hoped we don't mind an old fashioned 50's feel, and we didn't mind that at all. We were given a key (YES A REAL KEY) on a diamond shaped plastic key chain (come on remember those). Opening our the door, we found our room had that old fashioned feeling but with some modern conveniences. The Ace motel is a great break from the "corporate cookie cutter" rooms you find in the big chains. Do yourself a real favor and if you have the chance to stay here, do it! A piece of advice BOOK YOUR ROOM DIRECTLY THRU THE ACE MOTEL SITE OR PHONE! I tell you this because those web hotel sites that have those TV Ads, they rip-off the small independent hotel/motel owner, the percentage those Big sites take basically take most if not all the profit for the owner. He said it was my responsibility to tell him and someone could die if they went into a room that previously had a dog and they had a severe allergy. Rooms were more on the modern side and were extremely spacious and clean. The front desk service was so friendly and I had the entire pool and hot tub to myself (even on a sold out night). There is complimentary breakfast in the morning with a nice variety of options including hard boiled eggs, cereal, Belgian waffles, biscuits and gravy, coffee and toast.
