We rented two sit-on kayaks and did the "southern paddling loop", and it was an unforgettable experience. We loved every minute of it! The ladies at the rental area were very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. We were a bit intimidated at first, not knowing where we were going, but they provided us a map and explained the route so we easily made it through. There are numbered markers to direct your path. The mangroves were absolutely amazing! We saw several birds, including an osprey, and even saw a dolphin by the pier area. We would do this adventure again in a heartbeat! read more

I found this location on google, it was very easy to locate, it's just a small little shake on the side of the road in the national Park but that's all it needs to be. The two staff members at the shake were kind, knowledgeable, and moved quickly. I tended a board and my friend had her own and then helped her launch also for that area. The map is well marked as is the launch/return area among the trees, so it is easy to spot from the water. It felt safe, clean and so easy to take part in. The only slight down side is they don't have tap to pay, which feels like could be an easy fix in this day and age. But over all totally recommend this business if you are looking for a fun day on the water in this area! read more

Top notch kayak tour of the mangroves. I had been on kayak tours before in the Bradenton area, but our tour guide Micah taught us things about this area ecosystem we never knew before. Saw Atlantic and cow-nose Sting rays, a small bonnet head shark, enormous white pelicans, and tunnels of mangroves you HAVE to check out! So glad we found this, what appears to be new, hidden gem. We are both water babies, despite my not growing up on the water, and ECOmersion was great at given us that experience. Pros: - Lots of option: single double kayaks, sitting in or on top kayaks, stand up paddle boards (SUPs), and hybrid kayak/ SUP. This is the best rental selection I've personally seen. On top of the rentals, they also offer guided tours, we opted for a kayak, SUP, and no guide. - Well defined path. This may have been our favorite part. For those that have traveled on the bay in weedon island, it's immense with lots of mangroves and an opportunity to cross the channel or chill with boats on the local sandbar. The loop that gets you to and from ECOmersion is well done. It's a numbered path along the water that makes it nearly impossible to lose your way. - the path is beautiful, lots of shaded mangrove channels which is makes it perfect for a hot day with a tiny bit of wind. - Staff were very helpful, friendly, and polite. - Online rental and waiver process is very easy. We did everything online the morning of our paddle so that when we arrived we were ready to go. - The rentals were in very good condition as well. Cons: - Zero Highly recommend for a day on the water. Great for larger groups as well as small. If going with a group who want to go in the water, definitely stop at the sand bar and enjoy a soak! read more

We were late due to an accident coming from Tampa. We were told we can't stay on the water for the time we paid for. Yet there was 16 kayaks lined up in the water and across the loading area and no people there at all. When we got back I felt like I was being lied to about being able to be on the water for the time we missed since again, no one was there and all these kayaks were sitting there. So I asked if we can pay for an additional hour and was told NO you're booked. So we walked to the car and I immediately called the 727 number from *67 and pretended I was hiking at the park and wanted to rent a kayak w my friend. I was told there were openings 30 mins apart back to back right away and that you can take us right now. So you guys lied to us. Yet no where on the website does it say you lose time if you are late or that there is no refund policy. Thing is, we are not tourists. We are locals who have paddle boarded and kayaked multiple times with you and have made this a thing that my boyfriend and I like to do in our free time. After being lied to we will def not be coming back ever again. It's one thing if you have a policy about being late and mass amounts of people were there but again there is NOTHING posted about it anywhere and there was NO ONE there. The place was EMPTY with 16 kayaks lined up in the water and across the loading area. So we couldn't do our time that we had left that we paid for "because you were booked" but when I pretended to be a fake person at the park I could get a kayak immediately. The lack of empathy for customers stuck in traffic from an accident and the fact you guys bold face lied to us is very poor customer service. Instead of accommodating regulars for 30 mins you lost us as customers. read more

This place was absolutely amazing! The staff was super helpful, and we got to see super unique scenery such as the mangrove forest. They gave you a map at the beginning, and you have an option to use a waterproof bag or box to put your valuables. Everything is pretty well marked, and there are various different types of trails that you can do. We saw plenty of wildlife, and there was plenty of places to relax when needed. Brady and Ellie were awesome and knowledgeable guides. I had never kayaked before and Ellie gave excellent instructions on how to paddle so I wouldn't wear myself out. Got through the 4 mile adventure easily. We saw quite a few interesting aquatic wildlife and the mangrove tunnel was super interesting. The 30 minute stop at Shell Island was a perfect break for our small group. I will definitely recommend this adventure to others visiting the area. read more
