I really like BHV Atelier des Chefs :) I initially preferred the other ones, but after going here…read morethree times in a row, I can't help but like it more. Once you figure out exactly where it is (all the way to the back, on the 3eme etage), it's much more fun. (I got lost the first few times, trying to look for the exact address - all you have to do is get off at the Hotel de Ville stop, go out the exit "Hotel de Ville" and BHV will be right there. No need to find the exact address on rue de verrerie).
The prepatory space is transformed into a dining space, and it's all enclosed in a glass room - so even though there may be people peering into you, you eat in relative privacy. The chef is really nice, friendly, and can speak some English, though one of my favorite memories is this:
"Here, you rape ze lemon -" Everyone tries to restrain their laughter politely, but a man intercedes.
"En anglais, "rape" veut dire ... violer."
LOL. (In case you don't get it, "raper" is the term used for peeling or removing the skin)
The meal afterwards is delightful, and I always sign up for the free dessert & coffee (though you can get tea instead) & wine deal. 15€? Awesome. :)
