I contacted Diesel Specialties of Lewisville, explained that I already had the diagnostic code, and was told they would confirm the code with my mechanic and order the necessary part before I brought my truck in. When I picked up my truck, I noticed the invoice included a very large diagnostic fee, despite the issue already having been diagnosed beforehand. I politely asked about the charge, and the owner immediately became extremely hostile. He began yelling, cursing, and throwing things during the interaction. As a female customer, I found his behavior intimidating and completely unacceptable, especially since it occurred in front of his young child. The entire experience was unprofessional, aggressive, and honestly frightening. I would not recommend this business based on the way I was treated.

2020 Update: I am late posting an update, but life, loss, and multiple surgeries have truly gotten…read morein the way this year. Back in 2016 I found G & J Customs and raved about how JC helped me with my 2001 Toyota Solara when I visited here from Michigan. I gave them 5 stars because they were professional and ethical. They cleaned up issues that I had previously paid someone $500 to fix, and that particular mechanic took advantage of me, took my money, and left my car in worse shape. Because of JC being an honest business man and a man of God (I don't know his faith, I just feel this in my heart), the work he did on my car allowed me to safely drive across country to New Mexico, and then to Tucson, Arizona. I eventually sold my Toyota to someone in 2019, and still never had any other work done on it other than what JC had done in 2016! Fast forward to Fall 2019; I returned to Winston-Salem after being overseas and had purchased a used car from a small local dealership referred to me by someone. Unfortunately, the car I purchased started to give me trouble immediately and the dealership was unwilling to acknowledge or fix the issues. Of course I went to my Google reviews to find the mechanic that had previously assisted me with my last car. To my delight, G & J Customs was still in operation and JC was still there! JC made me an appointment immediately because he remembered me (Yay!). He took a good look at what was going on with the car, and once again, an unscrupulous person had taken advantage of my lack of knowledge of cars. JC initially did what he could to make the car drivable, but upon further inspection, he advised me that the car was not safe and that I was sold a heavily damaged salvage. Until that point, I had no idea the car was a salvage vehicle. I cannot express to you enough how valuable it is to have an honest and ethical mechanic who is concerned with your safety on your team. JC and team at G & J Customs has come through for me twice now. I can truly say that I fully respect and appreciate them for what they do. I highly recommend G & J Customs to anyone looking for a real mechanic with a professional and ethical standard worthy of applause. Spread the word if you know someone who needs a great car mechanic, and when you go by, tell them Kindra Speech sent ya!

One year ago I stopped by this shop for a leak repair on my classic car. Henry had me pull into his shop and repaired it instantly, what's more, he didn't charge me a dime. I experienced the same service and same care that Henry provided. All questions were answered concisely on how long it would take and how my car would be treated while there (inside only if overnight). There we no subjective "try" statements. The end result looks great, sounds good and fits great. My classic buick has a slight rumble at idle and is dead quiet at speed now, and things are flowing much better. Photos included. No expectations I drove from Charlotte to Lexington to be utterly amazed at the professionalism of the employees of TK auto. I was greeted when I first drove up. The staff was super friendly. First glance at the garage bays looked very nice and well kept. I meet Johnny, Robert, Piseth & Brandon and felt confident watching these mechanics work on the cars currently in the shop. Johnny the owner asked me what my symptoms were. A few seconds later after doing a inspection, he came wt a game plan and prognoses. He gave me a computer diagnostic and read the error msgs. Having a German car and knowing how touchy it can be - I was weary at first. He explained what the issue could be, and added they there might be other alternatives that would fix the issue. I agreed the the alternative work repair versus going the other route having to replace sensors and dismantling parts. After Johnnys quick fix, he asked that I drive the car over the weekend and if the check light comes back on the part required has already been ordered and ready to replace on Monday. I am now home and was so pleased that my Check Engine light is gone ! Will continue to follow his instructions and drive the car to cycle the codes and hope that the check engine light is gone to do my inspection on Monday. Very happy to made the decision to solicit TK Auto Repair. Very satisfied with the owner, mechanics and employees. The service and knowledge was very refreshing for once. Did not feel like I was in a corporate chain auto shop that wanted to gauge you. Will repost Monday to give full details on the check engine light and if I passed. Definitely worth the drive !! I would recommend this shop. This is a honest customer review. Happy camper Thanks Guys !!!!
