Caution to anyone who calls this service in search of a move-out cleaning: Although Jessica sounds very kind and accommodating on the phone, she and Eco Clean Madison adopt a business model of finding as many ways to overcharge customers as possible, justifying the overcharge by shaming the customer's cleanliness, taking clandestine photos, and insulting customers if they question the exponentially higher bill. The cleaners themselves were kind and accommodating when the move had some complications (as often happens, moves are hard!), and they did a good job of cleaning the apartment. I met three cleaners who worked for ~2.5 hours while we finished our move. Later that evening I received an invoice for nearly TWICE the amount agreed upon and a judgmental email from Jessica. She stated that four cleaners had spent over 11 hours cleaning the apartment, that it was in "very bad condition," that I had misrepresented how much cleaning had to be done, and that they'd have to replace and repair equipment as a result of cleaning my apartment (later she told me that this included new rags--apparently this cleaning service expects to keep their RAGS pristine). I am not here to defend the cleanliness of my apartment upon moving out. Most people are aware that move outs mean messes. When I called Jessica, assuming that the bill must have been some kind of mistake, she became downright condescending. Jessica told me that the apartment was in horrible condition, and that the workers had taken photos of both the apartment and themselves to prove that four of them had been there, which seemed like an unusual thing to do. She said that I should have known that they would bill me by number of hours per person (thus the claim that the job took 11 hours), and that they would increase the cost based on the "condition" of the apartment--a completely subjective concept that should NOT be the basis of billing. Jessica told me that I had not been forthcoming with my initial description of the apartment, that in her "five years in the business" she has never seen any company operate differently, and went to great lengths to tell me how slovenly my living space was. I'm sure everyone enjoys being judged when paying for cleaning services. I may not be "in the business" but I have worked with other cleaners. Every other company agrees upon a rate and sticks with it. Not so with Eco Clean Madison. This is NOT normal, no matter how many times Jessica repeats that it is. When I pushed back, Jessica refused to listen, talked over me, said I was "talking in circles" and "overwhelmed" and refused to listen to my legitimate complaints. This is NOT customer service, and honestly it came off as downright sexist. Later, Jessica sent me an email with 18 photos of my apartment that the workers had taken. One wonders how much of those stated 11 hours of work involved "documentation." I am sure Jessica will respond to this review with similar condescension, but potential customers should be aware that they will be dramatically overcharged and then SHAMED by this company's employees. A cleaning service should expect to encounter dirt. Otherwise their services would not be needed. There was no initial quote for an additional oven charge, and more importantly the original quote did NOT state a number of workers on the job -- so Jessica's claim that "4 workers took over 11 hours" to clean the house and that I should be charged for that extra labor is completely bogus, and evidence that this company will do whatever it takes to swindle customers out of as much money as possible. Bottom line: **DO NOT use their move-out cleaning services.** Expect your home to be creepily documented, your quoted charge to increase by hundreds of dollars in the bill, and their manager to berate you if you dare to question any of it. This is a terrible company -- at least as represented by their front end employee. There are many other cleaning services in Madison that will do the job thoroughly, fairly, honestly, and without treating their customers like garbage. read more

The women who came to clean the house lied to the owner or manager of the company exaggerating the condition of the home. It had NO furnishings of any sort, and was a very small house, and was already relatively clean. We had just purchased the home and wanted it cleaned anyway. The owner took them at their word and assumed I was lying when I tried to talk to her. Also - they seemed to be stalling for time when I finally went into the house to check on their progress - AND they were using CLOROX - the stuff you buy at any store. Eco-clean did a fantastic job on a move out clean for my apartment. I was stuck in a bind and needed same day cleaning after another company cancelled on me at the last minute. The owner could only find one cleaner so he came and assisted himself! How's that for customer service? They did a phenomenal job cleaning the apartment. Their attention to detail and commitment to cleaning every nook of the apartment was obvious. My apartment looked every bit as good when I moved out as when I moved in two years ago. They also are committed to cleaning with as many Eco-friendly products as possible. If I was staying in Madison I would absolutely trust these folks with cleaning my place on a regular basis. I used EcoClean Madison for three years and we consistently had issues with scheduling. When they showed up they did an amazing job. My home looked beautiful and they paid attention to detail. However, Jessica would often reschedule us the day of only an hour or so before she was supposed to show up. I have three small children and it is difficult for us to get out of the house and we would often plan our days around being out for the cleaning. More times than I can count she called us at the last minute to tell us their current job was taking too long, or she had car trouble, or a personal emergency. She never offered to compensate us for these multiple missed appointments. When we finally canceled the service due to yet another scheduling conflict she had the audacity to tell me that I was difficult to work with despite the fact that I constantly worked to accommodate her and her personal scheduling needs. Rarely in our three years did I contact her to reschedule on my account. I also recommended her to several friends and paid them half their rate for the cleanings that were missed due to the Covid lockdown. Again, I have nothing bad to say about the quality of their work but her unprofessional demeanor and unpredictability ultimately led us to cancel their service. read more

Avoid this business. I contacted this business on two separate dates via the phone number on their website. I had a question about additional services and because I liked their website I wanted to inquire. The second date I called back I received a text from the business "who the f*** is this?" This person went onto berate me for calling the business line to ask about services and told me to email or book online "like a normal person" then went on to tell me my call to their business was harassing and they were filing a police report. Then I had several various numbers call and text my phone asking who I was ....It was the most bizarre thing I've ever experienced in my life. Was a shotty, classless, disgusting business. An amazing, and talented company. Made the process of booking online incredibly easy, kept me up to date on arrival time and any issues that were encountered. If I was still living in the area, they would very easily be a company I would request regular cleaning service from. I was fortunate and had the owners come out, and I couldn't have asked for nicer peole to interact with. Small company, with conglomerate ability. Skip the process of getting a quote from one of the commercial companies, pick this company, where details matter, and quality is the norm. Great experience!!! read more
