Sohea and Gary did a fantastic job with transforming my black hair. This was a graduation present to myself and I've been wishing for colorful hair. We couldn't decide whether to do purple/lilac or rose gold, and Gary created a beautiful color melt of midnight blue/black to purple/lilac to rose gold. There's so much color and depth done in an elegant and artistic way. I couldn't have asked for better! Thank you so much Sohea and Gary! read more

So many years of amazing cuts! Gary continues to be my favorite stylist of all time. He truly loves hair, seriously, he knows everything about it. If I pick a style that the thinks won't work on me then he suggests an alternative and makes adjustments until its perfect. I always schedule fun events after I get my hair done so I can show off. Now that I'm not getting color done it takes less than an hour to wash, cut, and style my hair. It's so fast I don't even get to read all the fun trashy magazines. My fiance and my male coworkers are now seeing Gary and his crew as well. And they all look great =) read more

I've been living in San Francisco for a couple years now, but I remember when I first moved here I had a hard time loving any hair stylist or salon. That was until I went to Eclipse. Gary is amazing, he really understands what you want and does his best to create it. I've had a specific, pretty unique, haircut for years with bright red highlights that need to be maintained. Eclipse is definitely the place to go if you want your coloring job done professionally. I almost forgot that awesome feeing you get when your hair looks completely amazing after getting it done until I came here! read more

I've been wanting to color my hair for some time now and after doing some research, I decided to go with Eclipse! Gary and his team seemed to be the go to salon for hair coloring. I stopped by after work to get a quick quote. Gary took a look at my hair and helped me set up an appointment for that following week. I really appreciated that he tried to fit me in even though he was pretty booked. Later that weekend I realized my work schedule had changed and I couldn't make my appointment. He was incredible understanding and was able to fit me in for an earlier day. Gary, and Sohea did an AMAZING job transforming/coloring my hair. They were very transparent with every step. They took their time foil/bleaching my hair but to also separate out sections of my natural hair to avoid it being too light. This process took up a majority of the time that I was there because my hair is very thick. They were also incredibly meticulous when mixing my hair color (gray/ashy). I heard them discussing the color formulation/ratio in order to achieve my desired color. John finished up my appointment with a quick layered hair cut and to add some shape, which really brought it all together! I will definitely be going back when I need a touch up or decide to try out something new! read more

This is a basic no-frills salon where you can get a truly Expert Color and Cut by Gary and his small team of assistants. Gary absolutely knows his craft, haircuts look wonderful as they are growing out, they use high-quality coloring products, and I feel like I am paying fairly for the services, I don't need a gorgeous atmosphere. They are always helpful, accommodate appointments, my colored hair is soft, and I leave feeling much more attractive! read more

Loved my hair experience here! I wanted to do something different from my usual brown balayage. I've always wanted to do a gray ombré but was told by my other salon that it would take multiple sessions till I could get to the color I wanted + worried I'd end up looking like a granny. But Alyssa and Gary worked their magic with my hair and did it in one session and knocked off all that brass! The place was busy just how I expected it to be but I could see that they practice team work in making sure everyone is being taken cared of. Lovely color by Alyssa and beautiful layers done by Gary! It's been 3 days already and I couldn't be happier with my hair! Will be coming back for my next coloring. read more

My hair was absolutely trashed by this salon. I came in with dark hair that I was trying to lighten to a medium grown. About 8 different people started brushing my hair with bleach, all jumping around to different clients and having no idea what color I was even dying my hair. The main guy who runs the place asked ten times if I wanted to "go blonde" to which I said, "no, a light brown is the lightest I want to go". My hair was streaky, blond, uneven, and so damaged by the time I walked out. I immediately had to find a new salon to fix my hair the next day because I was so embarrassed. They were overbooked the whole day too, constantly rushing customers and each other. They don't listen to customers, they think they're always right, and they have multiple people touch your hair instead of one beginning to end. I'll never go back. Photo attached is what I got when I asked for a "medium brown". read more

*ONE STAR REVIEW* ONLY TWO STARS BECAUSE IT WILL NOT LET ME POST MORR PICTURES UNLESS I GIVE TWO STARS. I went to see Gary as he was highly recommended by a friend. I also checked out his Instagram to check the colors and if he preserved the integrity of his clients' hair. I asked for a cool toned brown, showed him a picture from his Instagram, but walked out with shade of blonde. I asked for him to take off the damaged ends and he insisted that he cut off only 6" but I measured and it was 8". He charged $500. He took pictures but never posted them on his Instagram which was the first sign of a problem. If he did not like it enough to post to his followers, is there not something wrong with it since he is not proud of it? I tried to like it and after three washes, I contacted him and asked if he could fix it since it was not what I wanted at all. We found a time for another appointment and unfortunately, I am still unhappy. I showed him another picture from his Instagram (and other similar pictures from the internet) thinking that perhaps he would see that color and understand more of what I wanted, but again I am super disappointed and sad. When I got there, he said he was going to let the toner process for 30 minutes at most, which is normal, but he left me for almost an hour. He was going to charge me for a blow out, but I declined as this was a fix it appointment. Instead, he stuck me under a heater with no heat protectant in my hair and didn't even brush or comb it. I had to ask for these tools and do it myself. He sent his assistant away for the day and then told me my hair was "dry" even though it was still quite damp. It's not great to send your clients out the door with frizzy, damp hair and the wrong color on the second try. I wish I had never let him touch my hair. I have cried so much over my hair because it looks awful. I am really upset and will not be returning and will warn anyone who wants to get their hair done there to not go. read more

I came in with a very difficult set of hair to work with and Gary went above and beyond. I asked him to fix my hair which was previously ruined by my old stylist. I wanted an ashy blond/ grey color but my hair had many uneven brown highlights and a dark toner that I was told couldn't be lifted enough. Gary is the third stylist I reached out to so I had high hopes for someone to finally fix my hair. I have to say Gary exceeded all my expectations and I couldn't be any happier! Throughout the whole appointment, Gary was also very attentive and friendly. He tried to make interesting conversations with all his clients. I can tell he really cares about his clients and is so down to earth. As soon as I sat down at the salon, I already had a good feeling he was going to do a good job. His confidence, honesty, and passion made me feel at ease. He spent 8 hours on my hair carefully bleaching it and toning it. He's very experienced and knows exactly what to do to get what I wanted. I didn't think my hair get could be the color I wanted after what it's been through but Gary made it happen! Below is what my hair looks like before and after. Gary transformed my hair. read more

I really hate to even write this review because Gary is so wonderful and if you go you should go because of him however I unfortunately did not have the best experience like others did. I called and asked if he could do an all over color and cut and I came in that day. I showed him pictures of what I wanted, jet black and a healthy trim with the weight thinned out. I'm a brunette so I showed pictures what I've done in the past. He reassured me I would look great and he'd take care of me no problem. He put the color on and after washing. He probably only took 5 min to cut my hair and barely cut anything off. I could see all my dead ends still. He styled it and I asked for it to be thinned out since it still felt really dry and barely cut. When I went home I realized my color didn't change at all and friends and family confirmed that. I called him to see if he's be willing to fix it since it wasn't at all what I asked for, and he said since he would have order a special color he'd charge me an extra $75+. That's now more than $300 for a simple trim and all over color. Ive gotten my hair done across the country and I've never heard of a salon not carrying a color like that and then also charging extra. Going black should be the simplest color and unfortunately it was a miss of an experience. read more

You know how everyone should search for that one stylist and then follow that person forever! Well I found mine! Too bad they are across the globe in another country (I'm not local) I'll definitely make an appointment every time I get to come back to SF. John was amazing at colouring, his technique is superb! He makes everything blend together so well. Gary was also really helpful at giving pointers on what Colour would blend well and explaining how to remove my brassy ass hair. he also gave me a trim Their blow out is great too! Gary is a master of color. You can see, hear, and feel how much he loves what he does. He's well experienced but always striving to learn. He and his whole team work hard to give people the hair transformations they're looking for. I came to Eclipse from a friend's recommendation after trying to get an ashy balayage from a different salon. I wasn't happy with my balayage -- it had more warm and red tones than I wanted -- and my previous colorist kept reassuring me that the more times I went in for color, the ashier she would make it. I was tired of paying for gradual color that frankly wasn't happening so I switched salons. Gary and his team were able to give me an ashy balayage and a great cut in one appointment. I'm super happy with it and with the purple shampoo he recommended. My hair hasn't gone brassy! read more

I wish I had a good before photo of my hair because it was a mess! I have naturally dark brown to almost black hair that had been dyed many different colors before. When I came in for my appointment with John, my hair had been bayalaged multiple times and still didn't look too great due to having old dark brown dye in my hair previously. I had these brassy blonde highlights that were way too contrasted with my almost black base. John completely rescued my hair and exceeded my expectations. He did some more bayalage to blend in the highlights and lifted my base to a cool toned brown that flowed seamlessly with the bayalage. I was finally able to have the cool tones blonde bayalage I always wanted. He also double toned the bayalaged parts so the color could last longer before I needed another toning session. I also had an Olaplex treatment done, during which he informed me that he will do step one and two of the treatment. Previously I've only had colorists that did step two only, not knowing that the best results required step one and two. I really appreciate that he went the extra mile. I will definitely be coming back to John for color from now on. read more

The WORST hair salon I have ever visited!! My experience here from start to finish was APPALLING. I hadn't dyed my hair for months excitedly waiting to get a fresh head of highlights, get rid of any yellow tones at the ends of my hair and a new icy color for an upcoming trip. I contacted the salon and spoke with Gary (although he never identified himself as Gary even though I was requesting an appointment with him - odd in itself) he recommended John and assured me he was good with blondes they also requested pics of my hair which I sent. I arrived at my appointment with John, explained what I wanted, showed him pictures of my desired hair color and specifically stated I did not want any red tones and my hair blended to root..I've been getting my hair highlighted and toned for over 10years so this was not my first rodeo and I had no problem telling him exactly what I wanted! There was a serious lack of communication..he suggested just putting highlights on the top and toning but I explained that I wear my hair up a lot for work so he said he would put some in the back! He Never told me that he was doing a full head of highlights - which I am not fully convinced that he did or he did their salons version of a full head, In professional salons which I visited everything is explained more thoroughly about what they will do and try to accomplish. He did the highlight and I could see even with my hair wet that the highlight looked stripey at the top of my head but he still had to tone so I had hope! Once it was toned it didn't look so bad, I had also requested a cut and to my horror I looked up from reading a work email to discover he was about to start cutting without even asking me what I wanted, how much I wanted cut off etc!! I knew the color wasn't great..my face said it all, but didn't say anything as I wanted to get home and have a proper look at it, the lighting in the salon is also very bad so it is hard to judge. Gary was trying to over compensate and take pics as I was paying which I found odd as he hadn't bothered giving me any attention as a new costumer the whole duration of my time there! Anyway my next shock was the price $295 before tip and I stupidly tipped 20% on top of that which they did not deserve (I know I'm a fool). Well when I got home to my horror I had blunt lines all over my head where the highlights had been applied- very poor technique. My roots also had a red tone. I promptly txt Gary pictures and told him how dissatisfied I was..he txt back quickly saying " he could see" and asked when I could come in ( this is the only reason for the one star I would give them zero only they were quick and willing to fix it). He still never apologized for any inconvenience, I had to cancel plans and go back to the salon after already spending three hours there already that morning! When I arrived back at the salon Gary was on the phone we exchanged hi and I sat down..once he hung up he never addressed me even though he was standing directly in front of me - very awkward as the salon wasn't that busy, at this point I was in disbelief as in to how I was being treated after spending $350 in his salon!!! they eventually acknowledged me and Gary told John to make the highlight finer and bring it to the root..so he did this but never accepted any blame and said that he didn't know I wanted it to the root..as if I wanted blunt lines of unnatural looking highlights. Anyway he only did the top section of my Hair and didn't tone it..and Gary said purple shampoo would take out the red but requested that the lady washing my hair should not put on a mask I felt like my hair could have used it considering it had just been highlighted twice..but whatever I just couldn't wait to get out of there! Just before I was leaving John apologized and Gary chipped in with " always let us know and we will fix it" too little too late Gary!! He also told me to purchase purple shampoo to take out more of the red- so after I specifically asked for no red at the beginning of my appointment I am now further out of pocket to fix the mistakes that the salon made. Their costumer service is horrendous..Gary never once apologized for any inconvenience! The place lacks basic salon etiquette..I spent 5hrs there in total and was never asked if I wanted water/Tea/coffee, never offered a magazine and John never communicated what he was doing for eg.he would just leave me under heater and never say how long for it, if I was ok etc..it was like I was invisible! My hair 2days later still has red/ginger roots I am embarrassed to go on my trip with my hair like this but have to give my hair a break for highlighting, i Intend to get it fixed as soon as I get back at a professional salon that knows what they are doing! Needless to say I will never step foot in this salon again if you are wise you shouldn't either! They charge high end salon prices and the place is shabby and unprofessional!!! read more

My feelings are both "half and half" about this salon. Background story; last year in October 2016, I had my hair previously bleached and toned at a long time salon I used to go to. My then stylist "accidentally" chemically melted off my hair and didn't get the correct color I wanted. (I was trying to achieve a light ash brown gray color.) I was so sad and upset because my previously long hair was choppy, uneven, and all my baby hairs melted off. I didn't like the color (it was a muddy looking blonde/gray), so I informed her if she could just add a toner to make it brown. She did, some what, however it ended up liking reddish brown. My hair was extremely thin, fragile, damaged, felt like straw when dry, and felt like fragile spaghetti when wet. I decide to take hair vitamin tablets and try to grow back my hair for almost six months. Some of my hair grew back, gained strength, however was still uneven. I figured it was a good time to research a place to get my hair cut and dyed again. I decided to go with Eclipse salon because they have experience working with Asian hair. I contacted the salon and they replied back immediately. The owner, Gary, texted me back, asked questions, requested for pictures of my current hair, and pictures of what I wanted to achieve. He stated he could fix it and that he'd have to do a color melt and balayage. He stated it'd take four hours and that it'd cost $300. I honestly thought that was a bit pricey, and thought I just wanted one solid color and not all the color melt and balayage, but I figured Gary knew what he was talking about since he received high reviews and the pictures on his site look good. We confirmed the date and time of my appointment. A day or so before my appointment, Gary texted to confirm the date and time. We confirmed via text. Then a minute or so later he asked if I could come in a couple hours later. It was okay with me, however I thought it was strange that he just texted me earlier that he confirmed the initial time we agreed upon. On the day of my actual appointment, I arrive about 15-20 earlier because I was afraid of being late. No one acknowledged my presence. Eventually some stylist looked over and smiled at me. Gary eventually came over and stated he was running a bit late. I told him it was fine since the salon was packed. After about waiting for another 15 minutes or so, he got me in a chair and started analyzing my hair. Long story short; a number of people worked on my hair. All of them extremely sweet and professional. Gary and another man started to put highlights on the roots and top of my hair, afterwards Gary put bleach on the mid-half until the ends of my hair to lift the previous color on it. I was thinking to myself that my hair would not be one solid color and that would look uneven. I didn't say anything because I figured he knew what he was doing. Afterwards, they added the toner to my hair and I wasn't too thrilled with he end result. My hair looked like a muddy dark blonde. I informed him I wanted an ash brown. He kept on insisting that he liked the color and it looked good on me; however I wasn't happy. I informed him I wanted it darker. He then agreed to put on a brown gloss all over my hair. After he did that it looked a bit better, however I still wasn't completely satisfied. He did cut off a lot of my damaged hair, which was good. (My hair was layered, 3/4 down my back.) He cut it straight across, which was a bit above my bra strap line. I didn't mind him cutting it that short because I knew my hair was damaged and needed a fresh start. So after that, I was practically at the salon over four hours until their closing time. He charged me $300 (not including the tip I gave) because he said they had to do a lot of processing on my hair. (I honestly felt it was a bit over priced and I still wasn't too happy with the color because it's not exactly what the picture looked like. He also didn't do the color melt or balayage on my hair and I didn't know why I still had to pay that much.) I figured at least I tried getting my hair fixed and maybe I'll just try another salon who could get it right. I made sure to take care of my hair and hardly washed it. It's difficult for me not to wash my hair at times because I work out at the gym, four times a week, and I'd get really sweaty. From March 18th (that's when I got my hair done at this salon) until today's date of April 8th; I washed my hair a total of only three times and my hair color has already faded. I also noticed that my hair color seemed uneven and the hair in the back end of my head lining my neck didn't seem like it was dyed at all. Overall, the staff and people were nice, but I just wasn't too thrilled about my end results, and felt it was over priced for what they did. I'm still so sad about my hair and I hope to find a salon that fits my needs someday in the future. read more

I first came into contact with Gary after shooting out emails to various salons in an attempt to describe what I wanted done to my hair. As a person who has never done anything drastic to her hair, I was pretty nervous in general because I wanted to go silver and lavender; that would require lots and lots of bleach, then hair dye. However, Gary assured me that I had nothing to worry about and they would take very good care of my hair. So I booked my all-day appointment to give myself a new do! I walked into Eclipse at 10 AM as their first client of the day. I'm sure Gary could tell that I was nervous because he assured me right away that they'll treat both my hair and me well! He retouched bases with me in regards to what I wanted and how the process would work. My hair is one of my better parts of me (if I do say so, myself), so I put all my trust into Gary and his team. Two rounds of bleach and a round of hair dye for what seemed like decades (with a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy thrown in), with Gary and another hair stylist working on me simultaneously for all three rounds, my hair was done in a triple color melt. An ash brown at my roots, melted into silver, with lavender layered in. The coloring was beautiful and everyone in the salon was more than accommodating. I walked out of the salon around 6:30 PM in love with my new hair. Fast forward about a week, and the silver in my hair started going slightly blonde. Though the color was beautiful, it wasn't exactly what I wanted so quickly after spending so many hours in the chair the week before. I got into contact with Gary and he was more than willing to have me come in and "fix" my hair to my liking, free of charge. Again, the staff was amazing! I can't thank Eclipse Salon enough for my hair. I've gotten so many compliments and I'll be coming back for more hair transformations! read more

John did an amazing job with my hair, it looks natural and pretty!! Thank you so much!!

I should have written this review a long time ago, but if you are from a country that the owner doesn't like, he purposely does a bad job - from my own experiences with this salon. Because of the good reviews on Yelp, I went back there 2-3 times - then I realized the back of my hair had major hair dye disasters. One of his assistants looked surprised when he was told what color to use for a touch up, and another assistant looked very upset when he instructed her NOT to dry my hair after the touch up. Of course, I didn't ask for a discount or anything, so why do half of the work and charge full? She told me that she would, of course, dry and style my hair as it was part of the services AND nobody could/would/should walk with the wet hair. Thinking back, the way he asked my nationality on my first visit and gave me a look, I should have never gone back there - he is unethical & unprofessional. I am happy with my new hair salon that fixed the bad coloring - they couldn't believe it was done by a professional salon. But because I think he has good skills from the other reviews & pics here, he just chose to be mean & do bad work on my hair. My hair is dark brown with no highlights - the easiest touch up. read more

I contacted Eclipse because I desperately needed to get my hair re-colored for my graduation next week. I made sure to do my research and find somebody who was knowledgeable and knew how to do really complex colors (I wanted a silver, white color) I was ultimately on the chair for 9 hours, but only because they take their time making sure your hair is perfect (which I definitely prefer over coming into the salon again and again - who has time for that!?) The whole time I was there, they were really accommodating offering me water, iPhone charger and making sure I was okay. I had a whole team working on my hair so I was really being taken care of. Gary, Sohea, Franny, and Sophia were amazing! Many people who came into the salon were repeat customers and I'm confident to say that will be a repeat customer as well! Thank you Eclipse for making me look fabulous!!! PS. I've been getting loads of compliments even from random people on the street! read more

Love Gary! He is the real deal. I cannot recommend eclipse enough. I have very dark brunette hair and he nails my highlights every time.

I'm pretty disappointed with the haircut that I received and the overall experience of Eclipse Salon. First, the appointment process was lacking. They didn't take down much of my information or tell me who my haircut would be with, which made me worried whether the appointment was being booked at all. I didn't receive a confirmation call the day of the appointment, so had to call in myself to make sure I was still on the books. Second, my hairdresser seemed overworked - she was yawning and saying how tired she was. Not the best first impression of somebody who is going to have control of how your hair ends up looking. Third, the haircut I got was not the one that I wanted. I'm growing my hair out from a bob, and only wanted a trim and long layering in the back. I ended up with angling in the front, which I did not ask for. When I asked my hairdresser to not cut the angles any shorter, she said she just had to make them even, and proceeded to make them a lot shorter. Now my hair hardly fits in a ponytail, and doesn't look great when I wear it curly, which is its natural state. Lastly, the overall aesthetic of the place wasn't great, and the products that they used weren't anything special. I will say that the girl next to me was getting balayage coloring done, and it looked really good. So maybe this place is better for coloring than cutting. Regardless, I won't go back or recommend. read more

Showed up on time for my appointment and was told I had to wait 45 minutes before somebody would see me. Ok - not a problem. I rescheduled another appointment about a month later. Showed up on time and again was told I would have to wait 30 min. Realized that the scheduling here was completely off. Not a fan of a service provider telling customers to wait when the customer shows up on time. That's disrespectful. read more

Gray is a true color expert and committed to a successful result for his clients. I came to him after getting a full set of highlights done at a premiere (super expensive) SF hair salon that had done a terrible job! See pictures below. They had highlighted my hair without any thought or care or technique. I asked Gary to get rid of the terrible yellow highlights and give me a clean and sleek look. For some reason even my texture had gotten messed up with the brassy highlights - Gary also renewed that! He brought my hair back to life and gave me a haircut and color that I LOVE! We had to work together to get me where I wanted to be and he was patient and committed to making me happy and my hair look fabulous the whole time! Thank you, Gary!!! read more

Made an appointment here after extensive research into colorists in the bay area; saw that Eclipse got really good reviews for coloring Asian hair and doing trendy creative colors, so I called and requested an appointment with Gary and was told to text him photos for a consultation (love this process, by the way, so efficient!) My 1 star off is not for the quality of work, but for the few things I observed that I felt were unprofessional. First and foremost, I had requested an appointment specifically with Gary for color, but when I arrived he told me Michelle would be helping him with the bleaching process, but not to worry since she was really good. He was half wrong.. Gary never touched my hair in the 7 hours I was at the salon, and Michelle didn't just help him, she did all of it. If Michelle wasn't so fucking fantastic I would've be super pissed, since you don't request one specific person only to be baited-and-switched upon arrival. (Especially since another woman was getting a very similar color job to mine, and she was there before I arrived in the morning, and not close to being done after I finished, even though her hair was super short. It looked like that stylist was still learning to do color up to Eclipse's standards... Gary kept checking his work and making suggestions.) Now onto the good: My colorist Michelle was super professional and friendly, and did amazing work! She took my dark brown Asian hair to icy, bleach blonde, then to a really beautiful, warm, silver lavender. I wanted to make sure that when my hair grows out, the color wouldn't be a harsh, defined line, but something that still looked good. She explained that she would have to bleach my whole head, and add the dark roots back in, something called a color melt. During the process, she was super conscientious, first warning me that my scalp might feel tingly from the bleach, and then continually checking in during the bleaching stage to see how I was feeling. She was always checking up on my hair, even as she helped with other clients. At the end of the first bleach session, she looked at my tips and didn't think they would turn out icy enough, so applied more and had me wait. When it was blond enough for the color, she asked the see what I wanted again and I pulled out the photos and explained before she went off to mix the color. She spent quality time making sure the dye was massaged into my hair, and covering all of it, checking back continually on her work. After we washed out the dye, she thought it would end up looking more silver and less purple, so she suggested we put more purple back in, which I was game for. I loved that even though the process would add more time to her already long day, what mattered for her was the quality of her work and that I got the hair that I wanted. In the end, the color was more ombre than I initially wanted, but it's because we added that second coat of color at a later stage, so it wasn't all going to be uniform. BUT I LOVE IT. I love that it gives my hair extra dimension even when it isn't styled and is just straight (the ends get a little bit strawberry blonde pink, and it's adorable). Overall, would highly recommend Eclipse Salon; prices are very fair for high quality work, and the stylists are friendly and welcoming and the salon isn't at all pretentious. I'll be coming back to see Michelle when I need to update my color. read more

Eclipse Salon - Warm, silver lavender. More ombré than I wanted, but still really happy with the color and health of my hair. Thank you Michelle! - Hair Salons Near Me - San Francisco, California

Had my appointment to see Deisy this week and I cannot rave enough about my new look. I went from brunette to blonde and was not sure how I'd look but she made it natural, fun and bright! The staff there is so nice and always taking care of you, offering water and lots of beautiful hair dos :) I'll post my photos here. read more

I really liked this salon but am knocking off 2 stars after they weren't honest with me about my amazing stylist (Deisy) leaving. I was told she was on vacation but later found out Deisy moved to another salon (she moved to Hue Hair Salon on Fillmore). read more

This morning I walked in and asked to make an appointment for a hair cut and color with John or Gary. I wanted John or Gary to do my hair because they have good reviews on Yelp. Franni said I could come back at 2:00PM, then she told me that she had been there for six years and can color hair just like them. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my coloring. She dyed my hair dark when I wanted it lightened to blend in the grey hair. When I asked her why she dyed my hair dark , she said it was too late. I also wanted the pink color blended in, she just added the color to the lower part of my hair. I'm so disappointed and feel so depressed, because the hair coloring is nothing like the picture. To make matters worse, when I got home and looked in the mirror I found many gray hairs she didn't even take the time to color. I spent $300 to get my hair professionally colored and I feel like she didn't take the time or care how it looked she just needed business. read more

Eclipse Salon - Just to be honest not happy to spend for $300 for this hair color. I should be don't listen to her. Not worthed. Disappointed. - Hair Salons Near Me - San Francisco, California

So Gary contacted me here on yelp. Started off nicely. He then offered me hair products to take down my review. That's right he tried to bribe me. Four messages later I informed him this was harassment. I finally had to block him and reported him to yelp. Didn't help change my opinion of your salon. Seems desperate and trashy. Get it together the salon is still poorly run unorganized and totally unprofessional. Pull it together Gary. Every time I walk past still looks cramped and dirty. Not worth 65$ for a haircut. read more

Eclipse Salon - Gary tried to bribe me w/product to take down my review of his salon. My review honestly reflects my experience at his salon. - Hair Salons Near Me - San Francisco, California

GARY!! Gary is the man. In fact, everyone working at this salon is amazing. I hadn't had my hair done for probably a year and found Eclipse randomly on Yelp. Went in for ombre and a trim and was blown away. To be honest, I had been going to a beauty school for the past 4 years, so this was a totally different experience for me. I definitely felt very special and doted on. The service was around $240, pricey for me, but I think worth it. My hair turned out gorgeous and natural-looking. Love it! read more

Great stylists here! I come out from Marin to get my haircut and always leave happy. I've had Gary cut my hair a few times but have also tried out other stylists. They always do a good job. It's a little pricier and no frills salon but they wash, cut, and style your hair really well. read more

I made a reservation (on a Saturday!) for a haircut just one hour in advance and was pleasantly surprised with the results. I had a wonderful woman in the back cut at least 5 inches off, and she made sure to check in with me every step of the way. If you're looking for a reasonable quick cut, don't hesitate to pop into Eclipse! read more
