My experience was "meh." I've been here twice and I'm not impressed. I always try to give places a…read moresecond chance, but this go around made my decision. I got my hair colored and cut. They barely dried my hair, only dried enough so that I could get a feel for what the color was. I'm sorry, but if you're paying for a color and cut, a dry should come with it. I literally left the building with wet hair during winter. Keep in mind I provided pictures of what my hair looked like and what I wanted. I also asked the stylist to call me to ensure there was enough time scheduled to complete the color and cut as the receptionist was only going to schedule an hour. 2/15/24....the owner's response does not make sense, at least to me. My first visit consisted of a color and no cut and my hair was blown dry. I wasn't provided an option the second visit, so my fault for assuming that I would receive a blow dry the second time with a color and cut. It wasn't a cost savings benefit for me, it was a timing issue for the colorist. I've been to many salons and always had my hair dried and styled as part of the overall service when coloring hair.

I arrived a little bit early for my appointment at 6 and was given a quick tour of the salon. It's…read moresuper hip inside and looks more like it belongs in Logan Square. They offer you coffee or tea from a local business in Libertyville which I thought was awesome and there's also cucumber-lemon water too. Patty came out to get me around 6:15-6:20 and patiently listened to my thoughts on what I wanted to do with my hair. She was super friendly and really helpful with offering advice every time I told her about my hair problems. Too dry, too frizzy, too damaged, everything! Believe me when I say my hair has been through a lot over the last decade and more. Patty washed my hair with an amazing minty shampoo and also a very light, non-creamy conditioner which I specifically asked for (yes!). Then she also showed me a leave-in conditioner and thermal protection spray that she thought would be best for my hair. What I most appreciated was that at no point did she ever try to sell me any of their products. She simply talked to me as if she was recommending something for a friend. The haircut turned out to be pretty good. My bangs were cut a little too short than what I would've liked though but luckily it grows out fast so it's not that big of a deal. She took off about 6+ inches of hair in the back so it ended up at the length that I wanted. Other random points: The Hair Fetish uses a lot of Paul Mitchell and Davines products. It's also a huge bonus that they do a free trim of your bangs if you come in the next 3 weeks after your haircut!
