Service Department charged us $100 to release our totaled vehicle to insurance. No explanation but wouldn't release until we paid. We paid just to get the claim closed. An inquiry was sent to the manager of the Service Department. I did receive a call the next day but when I asked the manager for an explanation of the charge he said he would have to research and get back with me. Never heard back... that was over three weeks ago. read more

This is the absolutely worst car dealership and service I've ever experienced. Currently they've had my car for a few weeks because they can't figure out what is wrong with it. They keep ordering random parts that don't fix the problem. There is no estimate on the arrival of the next part they'll try. The last time I had my car there it was simply to program a replacement key fob that we put through the laundry. It took them three weeks to program it, and in the process, my car was completely undriveable because whatever their original "fix" was disabled the ignition even when using the key that had not gone through the wash. And they don't have loan cars while they tinker with mine. This place is terrible. read more

I suggest that you do NOT put a deposit down on any vehicle. You will definitely NOT receive it back!! I placed a required deposit of $1,000 to hold a Palisade in transit, but found a better deal somewhere else before the vehicle even arrived. Please know the time frame from the time I put the deposit down to the time I contacted them to let them know I found something else was less than one week (two of those days they were closed for Christmas). One of the owners, Mark Eckert, will NOT respond to emails. He offered a "store credit" that will be valid for one year. FYI I did not purchase a Hyundai and should not need $1,000 worth of parts on a brand new Toyota. At one point someone said, "don't waste your time on her" in the background while on the phone. Since I did not have a transactional purchase with them, they should return my deposit. This is not the right way to do business. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I most definitely would. This is the most unprofessional, unorganized and flat out unaccommodating dealership I have ever been to. For starters: Had to bring my car in because my RPMs were skyrocketing, transmission was constantly slipping, and it became a hazard to drive. My car has always had its normal maintenance and was never behind while being in perfect condition. Staff informed me I could have a tow service pick it up from my location and drop it off. Since it would be there longer than 4 hours I was told I would receive a rental. This was great as I have two kids, treatment appointments and work. Appointment time was set, my car was delivered 5 hours prior, and two hours AFTER my appointment time my car still hadn't been seen. Upon talking to the service department, front staff and the GM, I was told I wouldn't receive a loaner and now I was stranded trying to hurry and find transportation for the remainder of the time. Services finally "processed" my car around 5 PM to inform me that nothing was wrong. The car was inoperable and a tow truck had to bring it in, yet they inform me "nothing was wrong" and it was "low on oil." The car was low on oil, not to my fault, I hadn't even reached the mileage for my maintenance yet. They suggested I do a oil consumption test to see if it's consuming more than needed, pertaining to the issues I was having. Mind you, this location is a distance away and is not close to home. They wanted me to come in every 1000 miles, for 3000 miles so they could check the levels. Instead of driving an hour there and back during my cancer treatment, I located a dealership close by and they ran the test. In fact, my engine was consuming to much oil and needed a lot of work. Now that I had this sorted out, I called the dealership to inform them it is consuming to much oil, I had the notes and reports from another dealership that they could reference. The service department told me I "wasn't allowed" to take it to another dealership and that I could only come to there location for this test. Bullshit. So I've now wasted another 3000 miles to gauge this test and they demand I cannot use the reports and tests from a local Chevy dealership to assess my problem. I would now have to bring my car back to there location to start the tests OVER again. I called to make the appointment, even though I didn't see it fit, to accommodate the games this dealership was making me play. Everyday they were booked, no openings, so completely packed that nothing they could offer would enable me as a single mother to make it in, and go back to work, treatment at 12:30, and my kids before 3. Again, would not allow me to use a loaner car for the duration it was there. I've decided to cancel all appointments that they've refused to accommodate my schedule with due to the lack of professionalism, respect and incompetence of this dealership. This has been the worst experience, comes in close to chemotherapy if that says anything, that I've ever had. Stay clear of this dealership, you can receive better customer service and respect somewhere else. read more

Avoid this place like the plague if you want to buy a used car. They tried to pass off a really good looking car that was almost completely rusted on the underside as a car in "great shape". They tried to talk me out of an independent inspection, saying "We can have our service guys look at it again for you". Shady. When I called out the huge amount of rust that surely they must have known about they said "We didn't know about that." Yeah, right. I purchased a (barely) used car from Alex in the pre-owned department after finding the car online and calling to confirm it's availability. From the start, Alex was patient, honest, and forthcoming. I had already researched the exact type of car I was looking for and there was no hard sell - he just helpfully answered questions and helped move the deal along. I was also happy to when the finance manager quoted a lower interest rate than my pre-approved loan and worked with me on a trade in deal. Overall the experience was hassle free and very pleasant. I was mislead to believe my business was important. I wasted my morning on my only day off this week. I guess my time and business is just not that important to them. Tony Hung and Charlie in the financing department were both awesome and made our car buying experience so easy and stress free. Tony did a great job of finding us a beautiful car in our budget, he listened to our wish list and got us a great deal on a car with extremely minor hail damage on the roof. Charlie explained the warranty and gap insurance very thoroughly and answered all of our silly questions. Everyone was really friendly extremely accommodating!!! Went in looking at a new Elantra for our first real "family car" and found exactly what we wanted with all of the bells and whistles that were the most commonly purchased and none of the "extras" that no one really ever uses. That was 2001. We bought a brand new '02 Elantra on the spot. Our most recent experience was great with the exception that the salesperson knew less about the vehicle than we did! We had done our homework and decided that the Elantra was, again, best for us and purchased it that day. That was December 2019. They had a 2019 Elantra on site that was ready, in our color (Silver), so we took her home and she is now happily garaged and cared for. read more

About a month ago, I came to buy a used 06 with 110k miles and I live about 3 hours away, so I put down a $300 deposit to hold it. and after checking out the car they wouldn't even come down off the price more than $50 even though the car had an exhaust leak, broken sway bar link and plugs in the tires, they also lied to me saying the oil was "recently changed" but the first thing I did when I got home was an oil change and it was so black. I've even tried to contact the GM 3 times and of course, no response probably because I bought a 6k car with cash instead of a 60k luxury car, this place sucks so bad, I paid 6500 for the car and I've put another 600 into fixing it. I was sold a 2022 G70 at sticker price even though it had 6,000 miles more than what they said it had, they said it had tinted windows (it does not.) So I have to pay $410 for tint. I've had the car for 3 weeks now and noticed I was getting only 15mpg. I took it to Christian Brothers (like I do all of my cars) for a thorough inspection. They sent me pictures of my oil filter covered in oil. They said whoever did the oil change over filled it and it leaked onto other parts. Cost for fixing a problem this location did costed me $500! I called and spoke to the Sales Manager Mike Bard who you'd me the only way he can do anything is if I take it to him to fix (1 hour away from where I stay). Other than that I have to pay out of pocket! Horrible service. From being LIED to about the car I was getting, to having to pay for damages OUT OF POCKET that were caused by this location... When I picked up the car it was low on Coolant, so they had to fill it up on the lot. That should've been a RED FLAG right there to me, but I was desperate to buy a new car (which turned out to be used). Don't worry Eckert Hyundai, I'm an ex advertising consultant so I know exactly where to copy and paste my reviews to. You screwed over a good guy. Now the good guy has to tell everyone not to buy from you. If you have a Genesis from this location I recommend getting it serviced elsewhere. read more

Disappointed-called hours ahead to see a new 2019 car that apparently the "manager" was driving as a demo. After traveling for over an hour prepared to buy this car we arrive to find that the car looks like it's been through the Sahara Desert on the outside and under the hood. They didn't even pass it through the car wash because they were too "busy". The back of the driver and front seats look like small children just sat in the back seat and kicked constantly on the front seats, scuff marks everywhere. Then we find a dent on the car that we were not told about over the phone that apparently they cannot fix or give us credit for. No thanks Eckert Hyundai. We own two other Hyundai vehicles and are very disappointed in our experience today. read more

After moving to the area, I brought my car in after having a complete nightmare of an experience at a South Austin dealership. Eckert Hyundai went above and beyond to address the issue ANOTHER dealership had created and never batted an eye. It was very hard for them to find the issue the other dealership had created originally and they spent countless hours looking at all kinds of different areas where my creaking noise was coming from. Billy had exemplary customer service throughout this entire experience and I know I'm quite particular/meticulous about how my car is serviced and can be a bit over the top at times. STAY AWAY! This place is extremely dishonest. I took my car in when Hyundai issued a recall/service campaign, and the check engine light has been on ever since they touched it. In addition to the recall, I have taken it to them two additional times to get them to fix what they damaged when they were performing the service campaign. The last visit they wanted me to pay for some phony repair that they claim is a "coincidence", all to fix their mistake. The service manager Dylan Hulme refuses to make it right for the customer. I bought a Genesis from Eckert. The purchase itself was fine, but using them for service has been a nightmare. When you buy a high-end vehicle, you should expect high-end service, and this is absolutely not the case with Eckert. My last car came from a dealership that specializes in high-end cars, and provided high-end service, and that is where I will return. I have been a customer at Eckert Hyundai since 2004 and I am on my 9th Car purchased from them. I have also recommended this dealership to several friends and they have also purchased cars there. 5 If I remember well. During the years since 2004 I have had ALL of my regular maintenance done there also so I feel I have earned the right to give a fair unbiased review. First the Sales Department. I have had the good fortune to meet Stan Becker in 2004 when I got a car for a relative. Later his son Joe also joined the sales staff and Joe has also helped me over the years. These 2 gentlemen are the best and easiest going sales people I have ever met. As a background I am going on 80 and have had approx. 50 cars since I was 17 so I have dealt with lots of dealers and brands. If you wand laid back no rush honesty here you go. The manager Mike is easy to deal with also should the need arise. Next Finance department. I have dealt with several people in this area and all but once they found me the best deal and rates. Also they explain all the after market warranties but NO pressure....much appreciated......... Service....Cant say enough. The manager Don and service advisor Jimmy have always taken care of me. The cashier Kesha.....I forgot the correct spelling ALWAYS goes over all work done and charges. There is a bowl of mints at her window and over the the years I am sure I have eaten at least the price of a oil change .l almost always work by appointments which 95 percent of the time are exactly at the time I need. Prices for routine maintenance are fair and sometimes less than the chains and the record of service is maintained should a warranty issue arise. On a few occasions I was in the area of the dealership I realized I was due for service so I called and they fit me in....usually little or no wait. read more

Our 18-year old was scared of car dealerships as they always took advantage of her (this was her 5th dealership visit this week). Rodney couldn't have been more kind to her, honest with her and quite frankly like a dad to her! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! My mother purchased a 2018 Tucson three weeks ago from Josh at Eckert Hyundai. From day one there has been a tire losing air. We brought it to the dealerships attention right away. As a matter of fact, due to the on going construction and the vehicles location on the lot, Josh, the sales person, made a comment regarding his concern over nails, or other objects that may or could damage a tire. After bringing the vehicle back to the service department, them "looking" at it TWICE, they supposedly fixed the problem. Today she took it in for the THIRD time in regards to the same issue the dealership has been aware of. Instead of actually fixing or replacing the tire, they turned my mother away, claiming they do not cover the tires. Well ladies and gents, my mother is fully aware the tires are not covered. However, when the problem existed from day one it's obviously something that needed to be fixed by the dealership. The sales person, Josh, has a condescending entitled attitude as well as many of the other staff members. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone!!! I got a great deal at Eckert Hyundai. Everybody at the dealership was a joy to deal with and I was amazed at how fast they completed the transaction. It was truly the first time in my life I bought a car without them trying to upsell me on some scam like extra at closing time. I never really looked at Hyundai until recently. They have really come a long way. Hyundai is one of the early adopters of Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. They get great reviews and have the best warranty. Plus the car itself is slick. Beware! Shady sales tactics. The cars that they have listed online as "certified" are not actually certified but "pre-certified". Meaning if you want the certified car that they are advertising, it is going to cost 795 more than the price that they quote you. Apparently that is noted if you read the fine print. Bottom line, don't list a vehicle as being certified if it is actually not. read more
