Echo Home Inspection was recommended to us because of how thorough and detailed they are in their reports and knowledge. We had the pleasure of working with Dotty who was very helpful in scheduling and preparing us for the process. Tim and Jim were our inspectors and they walked us through every possible issue we may have with possible future our home. They made us feel at ease through their communication and friendliness. All the information feels overwhelming at first, but so necessary. Thank you so much for making this experience stress free and positive. I will continued to recommend Echo to friends and family! I can't say enough good things. read more

I'm absolutely shocked this company is still in business and has positive reviews. If your real estate agent recommends them--run. Find another inspection company immediately. They missed major issues in the home we purchased--problems that weren't even mentioned in their report and are now costing us over $20,000 to fix. It's hard not to feel like there's a conflict of interest between this inspection team and the agent who referred them. Do your due diligence and protect yourself--look elsewhere. read more

They missed major leaks that is now costing us $30,000+ to repair. All they had to do was to peel back insulations to find but they come up with lame excuse of material in the way, which they could have easily moved. What a waste of $750 inspection fee. They almost look like they are working for the sellers. Terrible. read more

Hire the trades to come to your home and inspect the major components. Don't hire a home inspection company. They only tell you the obvious things. They don't tell you something is not code, they do not tell you about major things like septic under driveway or seapage tanks and grease traps, they brush over your home and report that you may want to have that looked at by a qualified tradesman. Hire the Tradesman first, forget the home inspector. Its a waste of money and time and ECHO is no different. $450 down the drain. Hire a tradesman to look at all your components. Home inspectors won't report on code violations, major issues that will cost you a ton of money after you buy your home. Call a Plumber, HVAC, Electrician, Chimney Sweep, Well Inspector, Roofer, etc. You will be glad you did. read more

Fast turn around to receive the final report. Very detailed inspectors came out ( 2 inspectors, one for major mechanical one for everything else). Very professional from start to finish. Reasonable fee for townhouse inspection. I am also in the building trades and I did not question anything they found and they did not miss anything. Would highly recommend them for home inspections !! read more

We were in the process of buying a home, but did not trust the company we were buying it from. A lot of what they had told us was already a lie so we really needed a good inspection. These guys helped a lot to put us at ease. My father and I walked the house with them and they talked to us about the issues they found. They were very knowledgable and professional and offered some great advice on what to do once we purchased the home. The inspection report was thorough and thanks to this we were able to convince our housing association to remove the crab apple trees out front. Perfectly pleasant people and definitely someone I recommend. read more

They were able to provide me with valuable information for items which may need to be done at my expense after closing on this new New Lakewood IL home. For that, we are very grateful. read more

Working with Echo Home Inspection has been a positive experience from the first call to receiving the very detailed inspection report. Because of Tom and Tim's thorough inspection, we were able to discover some issues with a house we were considering and when we pointed those out to the current owners, they were not willing to budge and so we walked away. We used Echo again for another house and like the first one, received a very detailed report. The inspectors were very knowledgeable and let us know if they saw anything out of the ordinary. Also, loved the cookie they provide after the inspection. I highly recommend Echo if you want a thorough home inspection. read more

The men who came to conduct our inspection, Jesse and John, were very professional, thorough, and pleasant. Their inspection report was very clear and understandable. I especially liked that they verbally went over the report before they left, with the pdf to follow a couple of days later. Both men were friendly and personable. I'd recommend Echo Home Inspection to anyone! read more

Tom and Tom were both SO thorough and really took the time to explain a lot of things to me as they went. Really appreciated their expertise! read more

Professional. Reliable. Ask for Sparkey. Had two inspections with this company on separate houses. Not only were they extremely thorough, they are clearly highly knowledgeable in their fields. They identify the smallest details and reveal hidden problems that I never would've thought to look. Ten out of ten Service. I highly recommend. read more

Our inspectors were amazing! We would absolutely recommend Echo and they are the real deal! They were incredibly detailed and informative- regardless of any other recommendation, I will always use Echo if we ever need a home inspection. They are the best of the best! read more

Had a wonderful home inspection done by 2 inspectors from Echo last fall-then the house purchase fell through. We had a second inspection on another home with a different inspector from Echo later in the fall. SO much was missed-very expensive mechanical issues, wiring issues, plumbing issues, roof deterioration, etc. We are seniors and would never have purchased a home knowing it needed this much work. read more

Used them to inspect a second home on a lake. Very professional and thorough. Looked at everything and produced a great report that easily showed the few small issues so we could have the sellers make repairs. They did a great job and would definitely use them again. read more

Echo Home Inspection service was recommended by my realtor and I'm glad I took their advice. This is the third inspection company I have used over the years and Echo was by far the best home inspection company I've used. They showed up on time during the busiest part of the home buying season, sent two professionals to complete the inspection, and went over everything in fine detail. This was the most thorough home inspection anyone could ask for, and when they left my wife and I felt very confident that the home we were buying was even better than what we had imagined. If you are in need of a home inspection and want to hire a top notch, professional company, then Echo Home Inspection Company is the one to use. read more

I needed a VA-approved inspector to help with my 1st-time home buying experience using a VA-approved loan. These guys are great. They were able to schedule my initial inspection (and a later re-inspection to check that some issues were resolved properly) really quickly and the work was thorough. Antoinette answers the phones and coordinates the scheduling, she's awesome! The inspector I worked with was Jim, he seems very knowledgeable and even took the time to talk me through how to do a couple simple repairs myself after I move in. 5/5 would definitely recommend, especially for all my veteran brothers and sisters out there using VA loans. read more

Two inspectors arrived early (before us) and worked incredibly efficiently. They kept us informed along the way, showed us what they were looking at, explained their thoughts, etc. A LOT of expertise! They took their work seriously, but were also friendly. We got the inspection report in less than 24 hours and it was the best one we have seen (we've seen three). A summary, and then so much detail including clear pictures. Easy to understand, clear, concise when necessary. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you! read more

I am a former Real Estate Appraiser, involved in thousands of home purchase transactions and familiar with the various services of different home inspection companies. These guys are top notch! Very professional. Highly recommend! We were purchasing a home that was just inspected a week earlier by a competitor, we received a copy of the 1st report, I read it thoroughly. We considered basing our decision to buy off only that report which found just a few small issues seller was very willing to fix. But, we decided to have peace of mind, let "our guy" also go through it. Turned out our guy was too busy to get it done before our 5 day window expired. So, our realtor recommended Echo. The team at Echo got in their in time, they uncovered many other issues that helped us understand the issues and address them all before moving in. We are so thankful we found them. Jim & Tim were extremely professional, courteous and thorough, answered all my questions and calmed my concerns. You'd be wise to hire them! Thanks Echo!!! read more

Horrific Inspectors I had DotTy Duse and her group inspect my house and passed it. Later I found out they never went in the attic or in the crawlspace. Right after purchasing my home I had to spend $10,000 to fix a Ceiling that was about to fall in on the rest of my house. This could've been avoided if it was inspected. I asked for a refund and was refused. Unfortunately, I found out that it's next to impossible to sue inspectors because they are not qualified carpenters, plumbers, or electrician with this company, he so anything they miss, could be considered an honest mistake. I don't see how it can be an honest mistake when they never went in the attic because if they did, they would've noticed all the damage that was done up there. I left the house and left them to inspect and they went over the checklist , I had to put $15,000 into my new home that I should've known of ahead of time and they wouldn't even bother refunding the money I gave them for the inspection. Dottt was not even nice about it. to me, it was my very first home, and it was stressful enough as it was to have an inspector turn around and treat me the way she did made it just the absolute Lee most horrific experience of my life. read more

Tom and Tom did an excellent job with the home inspection on our new house. Would 100% recommend to anyone in need of a quality and thorough home inspection at an affordable price. read more

Echo was referred to us from friends that recently purchased a home and had a good experience. We found the inspector to be thorough and explain his findings in a clear and concise manner. The final report was detailed and was easy to read. The usage of pictures and arrows pointing to the issue or source of the issue was very beneficial. read more

I used Echo because of a referral from my mother-in-law as they have purchased a couple of homes and swore they were great. I was buying a home (that eventually fell through when closing came) and needed an inspection done. The major issue I had with Echo is that when they inspected the home they stated that the furnace did not fire. When we brought it to the table, it turns out that the gas wasn't on. I just cannot trust an inspector that could not tell that the gas was shut off. What other things were missed then? They also stated that grade was to the house when it obviously was not. There was a little dirt pile by a corner of the house that could have been kicked flat with my foot, not a grade issue. I've just signed on for another house and will not be using Echo for my inspection. read more

We had a great inspection experience. We had two guys come out to do the inspection, and it felt very thorough. So thorough, in fact, that they found some serious issues and recommended we get some follow up inspections from some experts in a couple of fields. We followed their recommendations and ended up withdrawing our offer on the home because the cost of the necessary repairs would have been over $25K. I am so glad we got the inspection so we knew what we were getting ourselves into before purchasing. I hope to use them for our next inspection. read more

I was recommended Echo from a friend who recently purchased a house. On his testament I went with them. I had Mark and Tom show up, and right off the bat I liked these guys. They were honest, intelligent and fun to work with. The whole process they kept us in the know of what they were looking at, why, and what it meant. I hope to be closing on my house, but if for what ever reason I don't, I will be using Echo Home Inspection. I will also recommend them to all my friends. read more

Stay away from Echo Home Inspection. Hire a professional electrician and plumber. Let them tell you the real cost and problems from the beginning. Echo employees are not plumbers nor electrician. They take a class pass it and become an inspector. According to Echo they turn on the faucet water comes out plumbing works! Turn on lights electricity works! I hired Echo Inspection only to learn after my purchase and when I tired to use the home warranty that was sold with the house that nothing was covered. Warranty company does not do work on plumbing that had prior issues and does not meet city codes. I have a $9800.00 plumbing bill. When I take a shower I have to plunge the whole time because the water goes extremely slow because the piping under the house is all wrong and needs help getting through the pipes. Forget about even talking to Dotty she just has workers call you back. Than when workers call back that is a run around. My report shows one major problem under kitchen sink when I brought up it showed no problems with main bathroom got oh sorry when the report was being transferred to you it didn't all get sent?????? The 200% money back guarantee is a joke. Echo should go into Baking instead of INSPECTING!!!!!! read more

Wonderful! I would suggest anyone give Echo a call for a thorough home inspection. From scheduling my appointment to post inspection communication, they are right on it! When I called, they were able to schedule something right away at a very convenient day and time. My inspectors arrived a little ahead of the scheduled time (bonus!) and were getting the outside work taken care of on the property before I even got there with my real estate agent. During the inspection, they were both very informative and friendly-making sure to explain everything they were finding to me. They completed the whole inspection in just under an hour, and I had my report emailed to me the very next day. Oh, and the cookies are a nice touch, too. Extremely pleased with Echo! read more

I highly recommend using Echo to anyone who needs a home inspection. Their prices are very reasonable and the detailed report they provide after an inspection is priceless. Echo has conducted two home inspections for me over the past six weeks and done a tremendous job both times. The first inspection helped uncover various issues on a home which I eventually decided not to purchase based on Echo's detailed findings. The house appeared well maintained at first glance but there were numerous problems identified by the inspectors including issues with the roof and HVAC system. The second inspection with Echo was conducted by Tony and Tom. They were both very detail-oriented and polite. They explained how to properly operate and maintain various mechanical systems in the house. They were very patient with answering my questions and pointed out potential issues to monitor in the future. These guys were absolutely great. read more

We used this company for a pre-purchase inspection in May 2014 based on a recommendation from our realtor. And while there were several issues that caused me concern at the time of inspection, I am writing this review specifically because of the incompetence related to the inspection of the copper plumbing. There were several areas of corrosion along horizontal runs of pipe which I asked about during the inspection. The inspector said it was normal. I wasn't particularly comforted by his response, but had I been an expert, I wouldn't relied on his knowledge and assessment. I am not an expert. Anyway, these areas of "normal" corrosion have now developed pinhole leaks and I am working with a plumber to replace all of the horizontal runs of copper pipe. Also beware of the unlicensed assistant Echo sends to complete many of the checklist items on the inspection report. Definitely stay away from Echo Home Inspection. read more

There are companies out there who feed off of the trusting and will lie and cheat their way through the years. This business insures my inspection for like 120 days and sure enough after I closed the warranty was past the date. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! I cannot count how many things we found. If an inspector comes in and drinks a bottle if water and then signs a paper and walks out, does that make it a home inspection? This company is not recommended to even renter read more
