Having electricity in our tent was quite nice. The employees were super friendly and I saw a worker kindly ask a visitor to keep their speed down.

Campsites for the campers are kind of close together, but the tent lots had tons of room! The entire campground is shaded nicely with beautiful trees. It is clean and well maintained as well. The cabins are decent- clean, and stocked with everything you need. Nothing fancy, but the linens were all clean and the water was hot so no complaints here in that aspect. I didn't deal with the front office as my mother in law booked our stay and did all of that. My only complaint would be the other campers/cabin renters. Our cabin was a duplex and our neighbors were not considerate of how much noise they made. Cabins and camper spots are dog friendly, however it's basic knowledge that your dog must be leashed. Our neighbors did not leash their small poodle, and it rushed my two dogs, one of which was blind, several times. We informed them that because one of our dogs is blind, even though he is a nice dog, he could snap at something coming up on him suddenly. This did not deter them from allowing their dog to continue unleashed. I should have said something to the front office but didn't want to cause any trouble. All in all, a good stay, and not the campgrounds fault about obnoxious neighbors.

The cabins seem to be well built and the views are great -- right on the river, with a back deck so you can sit and watch the floaters go by. There's great river access so you can hang out on the gravel bar and swim all day or have a fire pit at night. That is about all the nice things we have to say about this place. When I booked 6 months in advance I was told there would not be a confirmation email. Upon arrival, we learned they do not provide towels in the cabins and that information "should have been in our confirmation email" (!) which of course we did not receive. (They did, however, provide us "emergency" towels once we asked.) They also did not provide hand soap, shower soap, or shampoo. Our cabin was clean inside, except for an invasion of ants. Our friends' cabin did not seem to be cleaned whatsoever prior to arrival. There was dirt in the kitchen drawers, and the toilet was filthy. There was no light bulb in the lamp, ceiling fan didn't work at all (we told them and they did not fix it). One of the Adirondack chairs on the deck was missing a leg; luckily I noticed it before I sat in it because it was propped up on the wall like the chair was fine but it definitely was not. There was some kind of slab of meat that someone had thrown on the ground outside the cabin covered in bugs. There was also a package of rotten meat sticks in the fire pit from the previous guests. It's a shame the owners of this place seem to only do the bare minimum and still charge over $200 a night for a cabin. It's a great property and has a lot of potential, but the owners really just don't seem to care.

For $5 a person parking/admittance, we joined some others at their campsite for the day. The sites were well-maintained, the rocky beach was clean, and it was a joy to spend the day on the cool river. We didn't need floats, but TRL had them available for rent, had we wanted them. Afterward, we visited the shower houses (which were pretty clean), cooked dinner on our grill, and watched the kids play on the playground. Before returning our day passes, we looked around the general store at the t-shirt, river toys, rafts, and more, followed by two scoops of hard ice cream in waffle cones. I would definitely come back, and I wouldn't recommend this campground to anyone looking to enjoy the river. Tech notes: I had Verizon 4G at the general store and at the campsite, but I was roaming at the river. There are two Pokestops near the general store.

Their equipment is always in excellent condition and their service is great. This trip was exceptional because they had just had a terrible storm over night and the owners had been up all night. My sister-in-law, who was at Site R10, spoke with a passerby who suggested we call the host, as she was not on-site at the 4 p.m. check-in time but instead staying at a nearby hotel. As we began to pull into what we believed was our reserved site, the occupants informed us it was a permanent site and not available for nightly reservations. We then called the host, Candi, who told us we were actually assigned to Site R2 and should have received an updated email confirmation. I later checked and saw that an email had indeed been sent that day--but since we were traveling, I hadn't checked my inbox. We had specifically reserved Site R11 because we were bringing dogs and appreciated the grassy, shaded area. Candi assured us that Site R2 also had shade once we pulled in, but the site turned out to be fully gravel with no grass at all. I also inquired about picnic tables (see image on website), and Candi responded that she doesn't specify whether sites include them, adding that most campers bring folding tables. In our experience, especially at the nightly rate charged here, picnic tables are a basic amenity we've always seen at other campgrounds. When I expressed disappointment, her only response was, "You're welcome to leave if you don't like it." There was no apology for the mix-up or double booking, nor did she offer any sort of resolution--just the option to leave. We decided to stay for the duration of our booking and made the best of it, but we didn't use the fire pit or eat outside, so it didn't really feel like "camping." Ultimately, Candi needs to understand that guests expect a certain level of professionalism and courtesy. When clerical errors occur, it's the host's responsibility to acknowledge them and make things right--not simply tell guests to leave if they're unhappy.
