I've probably been there 10 times over the past 20 years. Prior to Echo Bluff being built, we stayed at various places in Eminence (Rivers Edge, various B&Bs). The accommodations were always Spartan and it was almost impossible to find any restaurants that offered anything more than "Fried something" or hamburgers. All that has changed with Echo Bluff State Park Lodge. The Lodge has accommodations that are orders of magnitude better than what can be found in Eminence and the on-site restaurant has really good food and a menu that is large enough that one could eat several different meals at the Lodge without having to repeat and entree. There is a beautiful creek behind the lodge (about 150 yards) that you can put your lawn chair in, sit back and enjoy the cool stream water and the absolutely gorgeous view of the Bluff.

Since we were the last ones there we were stuck on the pull out couch in the basement. I honestly can't complain though! It was very comfortable and I slept great! There are a ton of amenities on premise. Tons of fridge space (I think there were at least 3 refrigerators), a full kitchen with a double convection oven, a huge "mess hall" for feeding your crew, a hot tub for relaxing...the list goes on! There is also a boating dock area for access and swimming in the lake. You can also use the kayaks and canoes as you wish too. One thing I will say though. The owner of the property lives directly next to you. I'm talking same house just separated into two. Think like a massive duplex. We did see the owner and they never really got in our way but it did feel as though they were sort of watching us during the week we stayed. There is no cell service at all but there is WiFi (thank you AT&T WiFi calling!) so be prepared for that. Definitely would recommend if you have a huge event that would require housing a lot of people.

With moreland working the Covid unit at work and finishing school, and Blake having knee surgery, neither were able to come up before now to start making plans. Let me just say, I am very disappointed that the woman won't give the deposit back from Bonita Valley Dance Barn and wedding Venue. The pictures on Facebook make it look spectacular, but in person it is a dump. I get you are in the country and it's a barn, but who knew we were going to have to drive past a makeshift mobile home trailer with what looked like a junk yard parked outside, with campers, tractors, chicken coops, all around. The barn itself was covered in cobwebs (although they said there was a wedding there last weekend) yeah, right! And the chairs and media equipment had inches of thick dust. The netting draped through the rafters looked yellow as if they hadn't been changed in years and they were infested with bug carcasses. The light bulbs were scantily present and as you walk in there is a trap on the ground. The owner said it was for a "skunk " that was loose in the barn. Gross!!! Along with the skunk, there were rabbits running around loose in the barn. The smell was indicative of something either living in there or had died in there. The kitchen was a joke. If a caterer came in there they would run the other way. There was no oven and a refrigerator not big enough to hold a gallon of sweet tea. Walk outside and the grass is knee high and around the wooden cross were wooden pews that were rotten, gray and dilapidated. The furniture in the "bride's" dressing area was a couch dated back to the 60's and the fabric was so dirty, I was afraid to touch it. The tables to serve on were pallets nailed to four wooden posts. They were uneven and rough. I could go on and on, but I don't want to seem like a bride momzilla . I just want people to be kind and give this young couple their money back. Oh yes, and she said to make sure that I added that the cost was $710 for a 2-day venue...Thursday and Friday... well, Now we all know why...we were paying for SHIT and shit is cheap! I would be embarrassed to have family and friends come to this place!

The location is perfect - right between Echo Bluff and Eminence-really easy to find! Doc and Susan, the owners, are beyond friendly and did everything they could to make our stay perfect. The cabins are clean, freshly remolded and really nice and prices are very reasonable. The beds are so comfortable, along with everything else in the house! The view from the back porch was beautiful and peaceful. They had everything we needed for our weekend stay - we wished we could have stayed longer! Already have our next stay booked and we cannot wait for it!
