The food is delicious, the service is attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is great. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Ordered take out and was told to pick up at 5:45. I arrived at 5:50 and had to wait until 6:20 to get my food. The pasta dishes sat around for 15 minutes while I waited for the pizza. The pizza was supposed to have basil, hot oil and honey on it and they left all off. The only positive is that they took the pizza off the bill. read more

After hearing mixed reviews from friends, we ended up giving ECCO a shot with a party of 8. Our server Tony was awesome...knew the menu well. We were advised by friends not to get the arancini. Tony said we should get the arancini and that he'd pay for it if we didn't like it -- it ended up being great. Terrible service, delicious food. This is the 4th time I've been and each meal exceeded my expectations. However, I gave it 3 stars because each time the service just got worse. They don't take reservations for parties under six but it was a Tuesday evening so we figured we were safe. We walked in & it felt like we walked in to a party we weren't invited to. The staff were running around, super busy/stressed,(probably short staffed like everyone else) & when we finally got the hostesses attention, she would not seat us, & told us to go to the bar. We really wanted to sit & enjoy a quieter atmosphere & meal, & there appeared to be plenty of seating. When I asked how long we would wait to be seated, she literally said "when someone is done eating !" We said we'd wait, then she said there was a waiting list- so we asked to be put on the "list." She said we would need to sit at the bar. She kept repeating that we needed to eat at the bar. I was about to leave and say let's find another place, Then a manager or someone who wanted us to eat happened to come around and say we could be seated at one of the open tables. Good timing?! It was a weird experience. The waiter had little interest in making any effort, but he got the job done. We were in no rush, & thankfully had time to kill. Oh, my, so loud. I had to cup my hands into a megaphone to be heard across a two-person table. There are too many hard surfaces. We ordered one tapa and one meal. Eggplant rollatini was mediocre with nothing special about the red sauce and lots of cheese. Bucatini Short Rib dinner was not sparkly. The mushroom gravy and thick pasta noodles were an unexciting goulash. The chianti was good. The waitress was attentive and sweet. read more

went for the first time saturday night. first the food was excellent. service not so much, forgot our drinks and he was never anywhere to be found. had to send 2 out of 4 drinks back because they were so sweet you couldn't even drink them. took them back to the bar myself because didn't want to wait another 20 minutes and the bartender pretty much told me i was nuts. the place is so loud you can't even talk to the person across from you and if you are there at dinner time forget finding a parking space. have to wait for one to open up. all in all not going back read more

Never know what you are going to get at Ecco. Several great meals that were prepared to perfection- Cascio e Pepe was amazing. Desserts, almost all, are abysmal. During my last outing here I had the fettuccine bolognese. The sauce was amazing. The pasta hugely overcooked rendering it hard and chewy. I am giving one star because of acoustics. You can not hear yourself talk or think...AT ALL...The staff were fabulous and the food that we got was delicious. We took it home because we wanted to get out. I am in my early 60's So I thought...I'm just getting old...until I went our side and numerous young people were all complaining as well. Their prices are far from cheap so you go out to dinner you want to relax be served accordingly ...Anxiety sets in with the noise level. They have to make up their minds CLUB??? or dinning? Asked us to leave as soon as we paid the bill because supposedly other people were waiting to be sat. Very disappointed...poor service, food seemed like it was frozen, the mozzarella sticks are something out of the frozen section at your local grocery store. Meatballs they say are fried...lol they were like eating sponges. Pasta is pre- cooked then re-heated to serve ...the rigatoni came flat and over cooked. Vodka sauce had no taste. Went on Friday night, 5 bar tenders and couldn't get attention while sitting at bar. Too busy making drinks with bubbles or in smokers. Finally ordered an App to share, never got extra plates. Mussels were amazing tho! Ordered 2nd App to share, still never got plates. Calamari was room temperature and not very good altho batter light. I'm still waiting for my glass to pour my bottled beer. Trumbull didn't need another over priced restaurant. I could go to Stratford, Milford or Shelton to get same food at half price. OverpricedItalian didn't work in Trumbull Ctr why will it work in Long Hill? WHEN DOES SOMEONE OPEN A NEIGHBORHOOD SPOT IN TRUMBULL??? I've been waiting so long for this place to open! The decor is awesome. I love the industrial look with black & gold on the walls. The bar is huge and there are both table and booth options. It looks like they built a patio, so I'm hoping they'll add outdoor seating once it gets warmer. We started off with rice balls and a burrata board. It was DELICIOUS! The rice balls were a bit plain, but they were fried to perfection. For my lunch I got chicken parm (I'm Italian, so I need to try the sauce and pasta at any new Italian spot I go to). The chicken was HUGE, but delicious. The sauce was also pretty good but the best part was the pasta. They make their own pasta in-house and you can definitely tell! For dessert I got tiramisu which I'm pretty sure is made in-house as well. Our server was friendly. Only minor issue I noticed was that there was no sanitary napkin bin in the women's restroom. Had a reservation of 4 for today at 1pm (12/26, Sunday). The receptionist, a tall and very slim blonde lady brought us to a tiny square table near the entrance with wind blowing to my knees every time the customers coming in (the table # is 62 on my receipt). She gave me an excuse for not to assign us to the nearby larger table with a semi-circled black leather area. She said they need to assign larger group to there. But she brought a group of 4 Caucasian ladies to that semi-circled leather seats after a while. Later on, she brought another group of 3 people to another black-leather semi-circled seat. From her facial expressions I understood that she did it on purpose. This is my first time to meet her. I don't know what I did wrongly to make her treat me not as fair as can be. I didn't complain about her at the time because I didn't find managers anywhere inside the restaurant. I also didn't want to spoil the atmosphere that I would like to have. But she made my experience a huge minus. Besides the incident, the foods are delicious; the decoration is elegant; the price is fair.And these are the reasons why I want a second time to be there after attending a birthday party there just two days ago! They would not make a reservation because our party was too small. In addition, they were very rude on the phone and did not apologize for not being able to make my reservation. Went there for the first time last week. Decided to go early (5:00) on a Saturday to beat the crowd. Hah! Already packed! Somehow snagged two seats at the bar. Great, friendly service from the bartender. They were able to seat us about 20 min later. Attentive service from our waiter. Delicious homemade pasta, fresh Ecco salad and yummy tiramisu. On the pricy side, but the food was very good and the ambience is classy with a NYC vibe. Will definitely be back. read more
