This place is a complete joke. I would avoid it at all cost, recently my fiancé had her car repaired here and it was nothing but delays and excuses. I understand that we are dealing with shipping delays but the guy running the show literally gave 5+ dates as to when her car would be ready. RIDICULOUS! I honestly do not understand the great Yelp reviews. On top of this when we got the car back he did not properly hookup important sensors in the vehicle and we ended up at the dealership paying $400 more dollars out of pocket just to avoid dealing with this shop. They'll paint your shit alright... but at the same time they will fuck it all up too...they'll remove things on your car that are not even getting worked on and deny tearing anything up...They'll have it forever too... THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF YOUR VEHICLE WHILE IN THEIR POSSESSION!!!! Personally they've done my car twice and both times they had my car for months and when I FINALLY got it back I STILL had to take it back several different times to get little things done, put back on and corrected...plus my back seats were suuuuper dirty with boot prints all over them with splashed plaster marks all over them as well. No one sits in my back seat... My interior 3rd brake light cap was broken off and it looked like someone tried hiding what they broke with clumped up glue on it and I've never even had to remove that cap ever.... But long story short DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO EC AUTOBODY IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA. If you do take your car here make sure you take my advice and take plenty of pictures inside and out to prove the condition of your vehicle before taking it there.... I stopped by EC Auto after scraping the entire side of my car because it's close to my house. I'm so happy I did, and now I have my permanent go-to auto body shop for any future needs. The owner, Alejandro, explained the process with my insurance, went over what he would need to do, and overall was super friendly and helpful when I was feeling bad about messing up my car. I had to leave the car for a week, during which their office was very communicative about what was happening and when they'd be done. When I got to pick up my car, OMG, it looked like it was totally new. He not only fixed the horrible scrapes including replacing 1 door entirely, but he fixed some other scratches I had previously - so he went above and beyond, making my car better than when I dropped it off. Plus, he aligned the wheels as they were off, and the car was beautifully cleaned inside and out. I was floored about all the extras they did. My worst fear happened the day I bought my 2013 Honda CR-V!! : [ You guessed it, I got into a car accident damaging my newly purchased car, and with a parked car at that. *emoji side face* and dented the fender and part of the passenger door, preventing it from opening completely. As you can imagine, I was devastated. Luckily 20 minutes (probably record breaking, (emoji cry face) prior to that, my insurance agent e-mailed me my temp insurance card and luckily had one less thing to worry about. So, there I was, dealing with my first car accident. I was scared, anxious, worried about what was to come. I had never got into a car accident and had not a single clue about the process and even what I was entitled or liable for. Luckily I happened to find EC auto body one night I was driving past. This was even before I had filed my claim. I walked in and talked to Alejandro about the damage and the insurance process. He was super kind and helpful, he answered all my questions and I knew this was the shop when he said "you can take it to any shop you choose". IT did not feel like he was trying to sell me anything he was just stating facts. Days later, I dropped of my Honda at EC auto body and two weeks later it was finally ready. It did take longer than expected but that was because of insurance approval delays. However, EC Auto Body communicated the entire time and delivered on the day they said they would. James, the young man who does his magic with the paint did a fabulous paint job. The color of my SUV was unusual, it is hard to tell what color exactly is it. Looks like black/grey/greenish with a tint of brown. The official name color is "KONA". Whatever the heck that is. Due the the nature of the color, it was extremely difficult to match it, but James did an amazing job on the paint. Not to mention the auto body team who worked on the assembly and dents. They also made the rental car process extremely easy. All I had to do was get picked and wait for them to pick up the car when my vehicle was ready. The best part is yet to come. Parked near a Church that was getting painted and got paint drippings on my car. I called my insurance and they referred me to EC Auto Body to get a full paint job. Roberto was the one who took care of me. First star for coming to my house to pick up/drop off my car because I had to go to work. Second star for fixing 10+ previous dents for free. Third star for throwing in two brand new fenders because the dents were too deep. Fourth star for keeping me in touch with pictures on how my car was doing during the 2 weeks. Last but not least, fixed the rusted metal from a previous crash that was inside my car(which surprised me because he didn't tell me about that, thanks Roberto!) and also cleaned the inside of my headlights. I was recently in an accident where some lady missed her stop sign and hit the back of my car. Luckily nothing, except for my car, got too hurt. Called insurance and went through the whole process, had a really frustrating week trying to get my car repaired. I went to a couple shops trying to find one that seemed trustworthy and professional. I had a friend refer me to one they went to and so I gave it a shot. I can definitely say I'm pleased with the service. I went in and was greeted instantly, (it was Lisa and Alejandro at the time I went in). They went over all of my questions and anything else I wanted to know. They checked the damage and explained what they were probably gonna do. After leaving my car with them, I was called a couple times during the process and they checked in with me, which I really do appreciate. Totally made everything less stressful. EC Auto Body - The completed paint job! Just waiting for the new trim to be added. - Body Shops Near Me - San Francisco, California

Was recommended by a great local shop after being waitlisted for months, but EC did a poor job; prep work, paint, and damage to many parts including irreplaceable rubber and stainless steel trim. Paid cash upfront, and somehow it took them 3+ months to finish a small sports car for just an external respray and some simple body work. Shop that recommended them felt so bad at the result, they redid some of ECs work to make it right. Quality is not their thing. Update: After reading the reply from the business, further details seem warranted. The shop that recommended them no longer does, and this was not as they state, 'beautiful showroom quality work.' This was not as they portray, an out of scope, demanding, and highly personalized project. It was a carefully orchestrated and expensive glass out respray, paid up front before work began. EC took it upon themselves to do extra work beyond the original scope - without asking for permission; they painted door jams and front/rear facia. In doing so, they removed and damaged door weatherstripping and mouldings which I had to replace at great cost (out of production parts). They made no attempt to prep the areas where they removed weatherstripping, so the car was delivered with glue stains and residue from the previous weatherstripping, now painted in the car color. They painted front and rear facia in a non-stock color with a rattle can. They demonstrated there was a need for additionally body work and I agreed to pay an additional $800 for that work. However, when finished and delivered, paint prep was poor in several places where chips and divots were painted over with no body work, and while most paint surfaces were smooth, others were still rough - meaning that all panels were not sanded with the same finishing grade paper. They also damaged expensive front and rear glass weatherstripping and stainless steel inserts when replacing the glass after respray. The rubber weatherstripping actually had cuts in, and the inserts were dented and scraped. Screws and fittings were lost or damaged which I had to replace and, they pulled out a long microphone lead from the top header (attached to the radio) and left if dangling on the dashboard and left a flap of headliner fabric hanging out on the top header - on the day they attempted to deliver the car as complete. To this day, the microphone no longer works. The car had new upholstery - less than 3 months old in perfect condition, fresh from the upholstery shop, but even though there was no interior work to do on the car, they somehow managed to puncture a hole in the seat bottom of the passenger side seat. They "fixed" it with couple of drops of crazy glue and somehow, didn't bother to mention it. When putting the front bumper back on after the paint, they scraped a 2"+ deep scratch in the fresh paint. Like the puncture to the passenger seat bottom, they somehow didn't notice it and it had to be pointed out to them for sanding/prep and repainting. Included in this expensive job was door alignment. They did not do this work at all, and had no memory of agreeing to it. I had to contract with another shop to finish their work, then I returned to car to them with leftover paint to finish the job. They did a poor job painting and it was clear that a touch up was done with little regard for quality. Am I demanding consumer? I thought not, but the experience was so poor overall, I had to advocate repeatedly to get so much of it corrected. My experience was not good, and I stand by my remarks that quality is not their thing. I could say a lot worse. Perhaps with other jobs they do a better job of painting, assembling and quality control, but not this time. They single-handedly lowered the value of my little sports car. They complain they lost money on the deal. Money lost on this job was the direct result of all rework they did to repair their mistakes. And as the consumer, I lost money as the value of car dropped significantly as a result of the sloppy work. read more

I have used EC Auto Body on 2 occasion's to fix accident damage to my cars. On both occasion's Lisa and Alejandro helped me thru the entire process. On the first occasion I paid out of pocket for the damage but the second involved Allstate. But both times I experienced a seamless, pain-free and stress-free experience in their hands. They were both easy to get a hold of for updates/explanations and/or questions and kept me appraised of progress. They provided a fair estimate of damages, walk thru of the work involved and costs. Considering the quality of the end products both times I could not be more pleased. The first "fix" involved entire bumpber redo on a GTI as it was rear-ended. It came back looking like new and I was unable to tell it was replaced. The paint matched perfectly the rest of the car. The next time around involved dent and scrapes to the passenger side door/wheelwell and guard of a XC90 SUV. Here too I was unable to see any evidence of previous damage or the new matched coat of paint. If anyone has to get work done on their cars/Suvs, it is usually never expected/planned or wanted, and typically the work of finding the right body shop and hoping for good results can be stressful. So to anyone researching body-shops and reading reviews I want to say I would recommend EC Auto Body. I would go there again for any future work to my cars and will be confident that I will be very happy with the process, costs and definitely the end results. read more

Started off good sound like it was no problem they don't take care of everything But two weeks later when got car back didn't do the wheel alignment but said they did had another dent N my door. broke my back window with defrost lines in them and replace it with a regular window left my car dirty didn't even puff out the dent scratches that insurance paid too read more

My recent experience was by far the best experience in customer service I've had in some time, I brought my 2015 Lexus IS250 F Sport which was side swiped and Alejandro let me leave my car so that my insurance agent could come down and visibly see the car. When my 2005 Chevy Tahoe got hit in early February in SF, I told the insurance company for the driver who hit me to have my repairs done at E.C. Body Shop, mainly because it was close to the local Chevron that does my oil changes and the mechanics there recommended the shop. I met with body shop manager Cy, he assessed the truck and gave an estimate. When the insurance company tried to reduce the cost by claiming some of the damage was not caused by the driver at fault, Cy went to bat for me and proved to the estimator that the damage was indeed a result of the collision. The shop fixed my truck on schedule and Cy's staff did a perfect paint-matching job, plus he buffed out the entire body. They did a great job and my truck looks better than ever. read more

EC Auto body has my trust when it comes to my car. I had just bought my Honda when I got into a car accident and the left side of the front bumper was half way off. A friend recommended this shop so I figured why not...I took it in just to get a quote but ended up leaving it that same day. Alejandro was so helpful with literally everything. I didn't have to deal with anything as in going back and fourth with my insurance, which is such a headache, he dealt with it all but still kept me updated on everything that was going on. When I picked up my car it was like brand new again!!! I found the business on City Search and checked Yelp to see if they had any reviews... nothing. They are located close to my workplace so I got an estimate from the shop. The owner , Roberto, who is very personable and professional explained to me that his work is dealer quality at a much better price and his work is guaranteed for life. I left the bodyshop and called my insurance and they said that I should go to a list of bodyshops that they guarantee their work.. I was confused and called Roberto at E &C to tell him that I had to go to the a bodyshop that my insurance recommends. He told me that I had the right to take my car to any bodyshop that I choose and that the insurance company has to honor my decision not theirs. I felt empowered to make a choice that supported a small business and gave Roberto my car which was fixed before the promised date, exceptionally done and he even fixed a ding that was not part of this insurance claim on his own time and dime.
