Convenient hotel in the city center. Staff is courteous and helpful with city information. Room we stayed in was spacious with a large tub in the middle. Door to the room felt paper thin and we could hear everyone walking by. This hotel is inhabited on a constant basis. The constant rotation of guests shows on the carpets, walls and beds of the rooms. Built by the Teutonic knights, this castle is also known for hosting the biggest storytelling…read morefestival in Europe - 19,000 tickets sold every April! To be honest, my average rating is just because I am not such a fan of castle tourism, but I am sure it is a fine example, and is now a cultural centre for the Flemish community. There is also hostel style accommodation available, and wonderful grounds and fields to walk around, with the village of Bilzen (population 1000) a couple of kilometres away.
