We hired Monte Carlo for our son's wedding at Terrain Gardens at DelVal and paid an exorbitant amount expecting a professional, high-quality performance. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The sound quality was poor, the energy was lacking, and the singers looked visibly unhappy--texting during the performance and scowling throughout the night. Several guests even commented on how bad the band sounded, which only added to our frustration. After the event, my ex-wife contacted the management company and received a response--not from management, but from the drummer--claiming that Terrain Gardens wouldn't allow them to use their own sound system and that the singers were upset about it. If that was the case, they should have been upfront about it or declined to perform under those conditions. I'm extremely disappointed that we paid full price for what was clearly a discount performance. At the very least, we deserve a refund for what was an unprofessional and unacceptable experience that cast a shadow over a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. read more

I've had two amazing experiences. First, DJ Jon was the DJ for our wedding. He was extremely kind, spent time talking about the type of music we want, collaborated on playlists, and played an awesome set. He was excellent. I was also lucky enough to see Pop Philly at my sisters wedding. Holy shit. That band is outstanding. My stepson and his beautiful wife were married this past weekend, 6/13/25, in Hull, MA. When the couple first told us they were going to have a band play instead of a DJ, we were kind of disappointed. We were thinking, "But why? DJs can play everything and bands are so limited!" Well, all that changed when we saw the band! The group that played were called Rio, and they were out of PA. My stepson and his wife said that they had been at a wedding last year and saw Rio play. They asked them if they would travel to their own wedding in MA, and the band agreed at once! When I tell you this was by far, hands down, the absolute BEST band I have EVER heard play at a wedding in my LIFE (and I've been to A LOT!), I don't even do it justice. From the second the happy couple were announced in at the reception, the party was ON!!! The immense talent and energy these amazing 12 people showed throughout the whole night was absolutely unbelievable!!!! Every single song they played sounded even BETTER than the original artists! Song after song was so incredible, and the musicians playing were just as perfect as the singers!!! Their talent was evident with every song they played. The band as a whole never took breaks all at once. If some of the group did take (well deserved) breaks, then there would ALWAYS be other members who continued to play, so there was never a lapse in the party! Not only is this group's talent unmatched, but what made them even more wonderful were their smiles that NEVER left their faces as they played. They were interactive, engaging and they honestly seemed genuinely happy to be there and play. As the blonde female singer said to us, "And we get to do this EVERY weekend!" We all knew she was 100% telling the truth. All the people in attendance, including the staff working the wedding, just raved about Rio all night, and everyone is STILL raving days later. I may be sounding a little "overboard" with this review, but I have not exaggerated one bit, not for a single second. Music always makes or breaks an event, and trust & believe, if you book Rio for your wedding, party, or another event, you won't regret it. There truly isn't a better band out there! We originally planned to just have a DJ but after chatting with Ben from EBE, we instantly connected with him so when he offered his personal hybrid band, The Vegas Experience, which consists of him as DJ and 4 instruments, we knew that would be the best option for the party we were looking for. We also got ceremony and cocktail hour music as part of the package, which was great. Ben is incredible to work with. Communicative, helpful, thoughtful, personable, etc. Wedding day went off without a hitch and our dance floor was so lively and the guests had a blast. What I most appreciated was that I missed Love Story because I was changing and that was my TOP request, so a friend asked Ben to play it again and they happily did so, and it was my favorite moment on the dance floor with my husband! Stop reading this and book EBE. Just do it and you'll life will be easier... We didn't just get a DJ, we got our entire wedding day mapped out on an agenda. It was worth it. My wife is crazy and was extra crazy during our wedding planning. We had just about everything we needed, but we just couldn't find a DJ with a personality. My wife was recommended to EBE from a friend of ours and she spoke to Brian. I don't know what they discussed, but next thing I knew, we had a meeting at their offices. I think the only negative thing I can say about EBE is that it took me a few minutes to find their front door. After that, it was nothing but positive things. We met with Brian and Ben, who would become our DJ. We sat down in their conference room and discussed what we were looking for and what EBE offered. I liked what I heard and we hired them that day, we didn't go home to think about that. That rarely happens, but I knew I could work with this team. EBE stood out by planning our entire wedding ceremony. At this time, you walk out, at this time, a few songs and then salads, then some dancing, then entree. We had almost the entire mapped out in 15 minute increments and our wedding was so organized because of that. I've been to plenty of weddings that were chaotic, but ours had a positive flow. EBE spoke to our venue and worked with them to ensure everything was occuring based off of the schedule. Ben provided music and microphones for the ceremony outside and also set up inside for the reception. People loved the music he played and his emcee work was entertaining. We also got their photobooth, which wasn't as much of a booth as it was a curtained structure. This was so much better than a booth, because we fit so many people in there. EBE Events & Entertainment is in my opinion the number one event organization in Philadelphia. I've been to weddings that have contracted bands from EBE and they were excellent. I'm not a huge "wedding band/singer" fan, but when contracted through EBE I've always been impressed. I contracted EBE for my wedding DJ. I spent slightly more money to hire Matt Ostroff, and I could not have been happier. Matt took time to take notes during our initial meetings to make sure he knew what we were looking for. The day of our wedding he reviewed his notes with us, just to double check, and we had an excellent night because of Matt. Everyone danced the entire time, it was so much fun! Family and friends have been complimenting the DJ ever since. Matt was definitely worth the extra money, and in all fairness the cost was still extremely reasonable. I used EBE for our family event and I was really thrilled with their amazing level of service. From the piano player at the cocktail hour, to our amazing MC Josh and the DJ everyone made this event fun and fantastic for our guests. The kids had an incredible time on the dance floor with their dancers and watching them was almost as fun. Also the adults didn't find the music too overbearing or annoying, and they played a mix of today's music for the kids and yesterday's for the adults - ever aware of pace and mood of the room and fitting it to a tee. Their photo booth service is a fantastic add on too. The ladies running the booth never questioned you if you needed 9 copies of a picture with frames. They gladly provided not only some incredible photos and memories but a level of professionalism that was admirable. So friendly and easy going that it reflects in the finished product. All told every bit of the party's success has a lot to do with who you choose as a DJ. If you're in the market for one call EBE and you will not be sorry. We used EBE for our wedding entertainment and couldn't have been happier! We had Matt Ostroff as our DJ and he nailed it! Our wedding was relatively small, 92 guests, and consisted of a lot of people who don't usually dance. He let us create a "no-play" list to eliminate some tunes we didn't want, and worked with us on the pronunciations of our wedding party, which were French and a little tricky when rolling off a native English speaker's tongue. Furthermore, Matt had my dad, my mom, and even the older guests on the dance floor all night long and it really created a lot of fantastic memories that we'll have forever. Speaking of memories, we also used EBE for our videographer. The videographer put a mini mic on my husband during the ceremony at the Cathedral and it caught everything! He was able to capture the most important parts of the receptions without a hitch, and I think in retrospect that having a DVD from the wedding will be one of the wisest investments we made. We hired EBE POPPHILLY for our wedding back in early 2019. Unfortunately, due to covid, we ended up having to move our wedding a couple times. Pop Philly was super accommodating and understanding and lucky for us, we were able to keep Pop Philly as our EBE band for our wedding last weekend. EBE POPPHILLY was absolutely amazing! The band leader (was Corey, now is Renee) was super easy and a pleasure to work with and EBE POPPHILLY was exactly what we were looking for for our wedding. We hired EBE for our wedding reception (DJ) and ceremony (Piano/Violin) DJ: DJ Mike Noble was excellent. From our initial consultation to the day of the wedding. He was professional and friendly. He listened to us but at the same time gave us his honest input based upon his experiences. (glad we took his advice when it came to certain songs that would/ would not keep the crowd dancing). EBE did a great job with the uplighting (we had a small venue, the lighting balanced the dimension of the room). Mike was able to keep the crown dancing non-stop. At the same time, he was not annoying/overpowering like some DJ's can be. Mike played all the songs that we requested. (and he didn't play any of the songs that we did not want...... no Chicken Dance, Hokey Pokey or the Macarena...... thank goodness). Mike had great transition from song-to-song. Piano / Violin: EBE had contracted Jim Holton http://www.jimholtonmusic.com for our pianist. In the beginning, we had some lack of communication problems with Jim but they were resolved. This company ruined my entire wedding. I would give them 0 stars if I could. This is the feedback I submitted. The manager spoke with me on the phone and told me that the DJ was in the wrong, she would be so upset if it was her wedding, and he was the wrong dj for me, then refused to give us any $ back after talking to corporate. The DJ told us he felt it was a good reception therefore he didn't care what we felt. He also responded with inappropriate comments and told me he didn't play any of my music because "I wasn't on the dance floor" at certain points when talking to family and guests Feedback submitted: I just want to follow up on our conversation from last night. (Husband) and I are extremely dissatisfied with the services you provided throughout the entire ceremony, happy hour and reception. When we had spoken several times prior to the event, we made it extremely clear what our preferred genres were, what genres we did not want to hear ANY of (even going so far as to make a list of do not plays as advised by you), and very specifically- that we did not want ANY requests from ANY ONE. You had been advised to only play certain songs during dinner service. It is absolutely ludicrous that your playlist should be reflected by whether or not I was on the dance floor or not. With less than 30 minutes left of the reception, you had played 2 singular song from our playlist. When asked why, you had stated that "I was not on the dance floor" and you "were working though the list of requests from our guests"- we specifically requested to not take ANY requests at all and you had confirmed you would not. You did not play the requested song for our cake cutting at all. Aside from the music selection, the format, transitions, etc were lacking and did not reflect your promise of a "New York style wedding." Finally, during the happy hour you had a list of popular songs on strings that were not played at all. These errors affected the entire wedding that we spent a year and countless hours planning. We didn't get to celebrate the way that we wanted and due to this, we request a full refund. I don't believe there was any miscommunication in our agreement. I have never complained about a service before and I do not take it lightly- this issue has left me very upset about my wedding night. read more

I attended a company party at Winterthur and EBE was the entertainment. For cocktail hour - the first song I heard when we arrived through the doors was a brass instrumental of Nikki Minaj "Starships". I then went to the ladies room to freshen up and met one of the 5 vocalists (FIVE! 2 guys, 3 gals) who was super-sweet. They played softer music during cocktails and louder pop and a few oldies during the party. The also played "Happy" by Pharell 3 times. (That was a bit much.) Ben was extremely professional, came ultra-prepared, and was a complete pleasure to work with. I initially met with Jonathan who listened to what we were looking for in a band and was expert in helping me choose the right one - Imagine! I met with Janine, the bandleader of Imagine!, before our wedding, and she was not only thoughtful in helping choose the right music. As for the day of, the ceremony and cocktail hour music was so lovely, and our guests could not have had more fun during the reception. When the night was over, they requested, "ONE MORE SONG!!!" and the DJ who was scheduled to stay on happily obliged with a set, keeping the energy up. All my friends are getting married and I have heard many Dj's in the past few years. DJ Ben is by far the best DJ I have ever heard. Matt Ostroff was our Emcee and he brought with him a DJ and drummer. The combination of the three of them created an awesome and exciting atmosphere at our reception. Matt did a fantastic job of "steering the ship" as he calls it. From the time the bridal party enters the reception Matt gets everyone up out of their chairs and on the dance floor to get the party started on an incredibly high note. The drummer added such a unique element and brought such energy to our party. We had a lot of guests who enjoyed that element of our wedding. We also used a pianist who worked with EBE, Anil Veeraraj to play the music for our ceremony. He started playing a half hour before our wedding began during the arrival of our guests which added a nice touch. John has amazing, infectious energy that kept people on the dance floor but never felt overbearing. The choices of songs, the pacing, and the transitions between the songs were all perfect. They played songs we requested, and many songs we didn't request but loved. Everyone -- even the friends and family who had sworn they wouldn't dance -- ended up on the floor having a great time, and person after person came up to say how great the music was. This was the first time either of us have seen our parents fast dancing! And one of our cousins said the same thing about her parents! The whole process of working with John and EBE was flawless. They had the entire crowd dancing from the moment we were introduced right to the final song (which was Baba O'Reilly; sounded like a rock concert and was awesome). It was well worth the evening to meet with everyone and pick the Emcee that will be suit your style of wedding. We worked with Anthony Yates aka DJ Soul who was perfect every step of the way. He worked with us on all the small little things we wanted to incorporate into the evening to make it perfectly ours and he nailed every single one of them. Everyone was on their feet having an absolutely wonderful time for most of the night. Song after song he chose kept everyone on the dance floor. During the consultation process with Tom, we could tell that he was very attentive to creating the event that we wanted. He asked us how involved he should be with guests, what the overall vibe we wanted was, and specifics about whether we like line dances, what traditions we're observing, etc. Overall his approach and his awesome DJing really helped make our wedding a huge success! We had booked with EBE because my sister had an incredible experience with them for her wedding 3 years ago. Unfortunately, our wedding was scheduled for this coming weekend, amid the Coronavirus pandemic, and everything had to be cancelled. Because of the economy and the uncertainty of our futures, we cannot reschedule the wedding we want due to finances. EBE is our ONLY vendor who is not willing to work with us around our deposit and getting money back. This has been quite frustrating because we are in a national state of emergency. We did not choose to cancel our wedding, we did not choose to have a wedding scheduled during a global pandemic, we did not choose any of this. For a company to not work with us, especially during such hard and uncertain times, really shows their true colors. We had even asked to have a smaller band play at a smaller venue, for the same day, just earlier, and the answer was No. They simply would not compromise or offer any other options, besides rescheduling, which we are not doing. I just spoke to a representative from EBE to discuss potentially working with them for my wedding. It is the worst call I have had in a long time. They were incredibly rude to me when discussing MY vision for MY wedding. I am British and my fiance is from NJ, so I wanted to do a mix of British and American. Whoever I spoke to told me my wedding would be a disaster and wouldnt listen to any of my suggestions. After 15 minutes of insults I finally had to cut short the conversation as there was no way we could possibly work together. We already knew we wanted EBE for our wedding after they did such an amazing job at my brother's wedding. Unfortunately, my brother's DJ was out of our price range, but DJ Mike was fantastic and we felt very taken care of. Not only did Mike listen to what we wanted and ask good questions about our families beforehand, but he had some great ideas that we loved! There are some DJs that use their platform as their "show" but with EBE it is ALWAYS more about the wedding with no shtick. I also really appreciated that Mike checked in with us re pacing in between dance sets. I would recommend them in a hearbeat! read more
