Rudy sold his services as a General Contractor but didn't do anything to actually manage the project other than organize some subcontractors. I had to PM most of it myself. He passed on his subcontractors' pricing without ever questioning it. He brought down his quotes several thousand dollars after I called different things into question. He did nothing to educate me on things that needed to be done such as sealing the marble tiles on the shower floor. I spent $25k on a bathroom renovation and the shower floor looks like crap after just a few weeks. Spare yourself and hire a different contractor! Who knows what it'll cost me now to fix it, but it won't be with Rudy.

Communication is their downfall - from the time I ordered and was told to expect it to the actual…read moretime of delivery (delivered way later than they first said they would); to them confusing me with another customer; and to having sent a different brand of materials on the day the products were installed. In any business, I expect complete transparency and they have fallen short on that. If my husband didn't pay attention to details, we wouldn't have known they had given us materials different from what we had actually ordered. If we didn't call them out on it, they probably would've never told us about it either. Another thing is, when they sent us a quote, it included removal of the carpets. When I told them that we had already removed the carpets and staples, they still did not adjust the price. They came back and just said that the original quote was already "discounted". They never mentioned which one was discounted from the previous quote. We asked them about it and nothing specific was being said about which item was actually "discounted". Again, a flaw in the communication chain. On the day of installation, even though the installers did a good job, it would've helped a lot of one of them can actually speak and understand English. They had the radio blaring. I had asked them to turn it down but I don't think they even understood what I'm saying. My husband works from home and is having conference calls all day and I'm homeschooling my kids while I'm working on my desk. And these guys doesn't seem to mind talking loudly to each other and crank up their radio. To the owner, please look into this as not all the residents you service are Spanish-speaking. I didn't want to ruffle feathers and didn't want them to take it out on me and do a poor job if I call them out, so I sent my kids outside. It's a hassle, to say the least. As much as I hate giving this kind of review and rating, I'm also obligated to speak out the truth as it is. And I hope positive changes will come out of this review.

It was so beautiful, but the walls just didn't sit well with me. The colors didn't pop. I contacted a company my friend told me about first because she had been using them for years. I did a test run with the walls in my bathroom and the cabinets. I was so disappointed. The color was not what we agreed on and it took them two weeks to finish due to different issues popping up. I was fed up and contacted T&J Renovations after a quick google search. I sent them a message to get a quote and got a response within 5 minutes. They came out the same day to look over everything and we scheduled something for the following day. They were on time, friendly, and finished the same day...which is what I had expected from the previous company, but anywho...they were great! This company really turned my frown upside down. Even their prices were better than the previous company my friend told me about. Fast, friendly, efficient...what more can you ask for? My only complaint is that the floor installers after me telling them not to use my neighbor's water hose, still use my neighbor's water hose and mine. Hours after they left, my neighbor called to tell me that her water had been running on full blast for who-knows-how-long, because they had left hours before she called me. The only way she realized it was because there was water flooding in the street. She told me to go check mine and yes my water hose was still running on full blast hours after they left. That was so inconsiderate of them. There were about five of them working, and they did a lot of work that day so I gave each a $20 tip. They did not say thank you, which seemed a bit rude, but I still think they deserve to tip because of the work they did. They did leave a few things undone such as not painting the shoe molding to match the floor, but I called Donnie and he had a different worker come over and finish up the few things that needed to be done that next day. Overall, after the whole process has finished I am definitely happy with my flooring. I just wanted to be sure to give an honest review of my full experience. I definitely would recommend this company. I would say the work is quality and beautiful.

There was nothing wrong with our bathroom before, it was just outdated. They did a decent job, but now we're noticing mold growing all over the cabinets. We've never had a mold problem before. Mold is growing under the sink, in the drawers, it's especially growing on the pieces of wood where it's been cut and the edges are rough. We told Mark about it, he came out and said maybe the cabinets are sealing too well so he put cushions on the cabinet doors and drawers. He also re caulked the sinks, and put on wall penetration covers. He took moisture readings behind the vanity and said it was saturated with water and proceeded to cut a huge hole in our hallway. Upon inspecting all the pipes, there was no sign of any leaks. We didn't do anything different in the bathroom, but there I was having to scrub mold off my new bathroom cabinets. The only thing that has changed in the last 7 years of having this house is the new bathroom cabinets that we had Gulf Coast Builders build and install, and now there is mold. Now Mark wants $350 for repairing the hole he cut in my wall. We didn't ask him to cut the hole in the wall, and he didn't tell us beforehand that he was going to charge us $350 to repair. Now he's not responding to us since we told him we shouldn't have to pay for the wall damage he created. We've called and texted him and no reply. Attached are all my moldy pictures and the big hole in my wall. I wouldn't recommend this company.

Unlike other contractors, Saul is present at the job site performing some of the work. He presented me with no surprises with the billing. He was pleasant to work with, takes pride in a job well done, and has none of the arrogance I've encountered with other contractors. I gave one of my neighbors (an engineer) a tour and he was amazed how quickly and expertly the work was done. He exclaimed, "My contractor took 6 months and the craftsmanship does not compare with Mr. Cabrera's".
