We ordered the Lamb Gursha and it did not disappoint. Hours later, I'm dreaming of that thick, luscious, viscous gravy, tingling on my palate. SO INCREDIBLY GOOD. The teff-flour injera was soft, spongy and melted in the mouth. The gomen (collard greens): served hot in a stone bowl was perfectly seasoned and not overcooked (I detest overcooked collards). Now to the lamb: it was melt in your mouth, fall off the bone tender. It was encased in the rich, viscous berbere "gravy". Oh my! This is because the coffee beans are roasted fresh, ground, then slowly boiled in a traditional black clay pot to extract all the flavors. Back in Ethiopia this gives time for family and friends to socialize and enjoy each other's company as the coffee is getting ready. If you're in a rush then this isn't what you're looking for, but if you have some free time and want to hang out this is perfect. Be warned, Ethiopian coffee is STRONG. If you're sensitive to caffeine and really want to try some I suggest eating something here (they have a lot of different snacks and Ethiopian food) first and then having some traditional coffee so the caffeine is released into your system slower.
