Merrifield Park is a unique park in the area. The rest (north side) of the park has several shelters, a large elevated playground with towers and slides, and a public access ramp to the river. The grounds were in great condition other than it could use a bit of watering on some of the lawn areas. Lots of parking and open space for running around or organized games that need space. I also noticed a lot of trees that had been carved into wooden sculptures left in place around the shelters. All have been coated with a rust colored treatment to preserve the images. Most feature some type of animal though one has a female image with the word Princess carved at the base. It's a nice park if you have a specific interest in swimming or skating, or just strolling along the river. Review #3101

Plenty of parking, lots of shady spots. There are some permanent structures with restrooms and space for concessions. On this sunny afternoon, a number of amateur baseball and softball games were underway and a few were getting set up to begin. The stadium was built and opened in South Bend in 1987, and after a series of name and ownership changes, became the South Bend Cubs in 2015. It holds over 10,000 spectators as well, making it good for outdoor concerts. I especially LOVE that they saved an old synagogue from demolition and spent 1 million dollars on renovating it to their Club Store. The building was actually designated as a National Register of Historic Places in 2013. A short film about the renovation of the synagogue won an Emmy in 2013. The South Bend Cubs didn't win the game on the day I visited the stadium in September 2026 but it was still a good time. I do wish that the stadium offered more diverse food options (I mean, I couldn'tfind coffee or tea anywhere!), kept better care of their bathrooms, and had more places with shade on the very sunny day I went. But it's minor leagues so there's that.

The game activities are fun and they constantly keep the crowd going with games and music and all kinds of Activities. The field is beautiful and the game was awesome. In addition, there is tons of food and drink throughout the stadium. An area for kids to play, shops to go to, bars, activities and concessions. All kinds of things like Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches, barbecue sandwiches, popcorn, hotdog, burgers, pretzels. All kinds of baseball food. The baseball was great, the crowds were great, the whole experience was great.

We've been to a ton and this ballpark holds its own, even compared to AA and AAA ballparks. The Parkview team does a tremendous job with the friendly entertainment, excellent service, great food and drink options, and an overall enjoyable MiLB venue... From Thirsty Thursdays to Friday and Saturday night games, Parkview Field offers something for everyone. If you're coming through FW, Parkview Field is a must stop.

Bought a sweet hoodie and hat for about $100. Not a bad view in the entire park; obviously they have some suites and some cabanas along the outfield that are nice and private/ shaded. I imagine when it gets hot out, you just cook like their delicious hot dogs in that sun! (The hot dogs were really good!) They also offer a kids zone that you have to pay for and it's nothing too great. Bunch of blow up things to jump on and slide down. Beer garden is no garden. It's just a building in the outfield dead center that serves beer and backs up to the hotels. Will say, dang good beer selection. Yuengling and some Michigan brews too! It's a very comfy little stadium downtown. So much going on it can be hard to follow the game though. And, their food lines are atrocious! Takes FOREVER to get anything of substance food- wise. Two innings or more for a hotdog. Overall it was enjoyable and I'd make it a point to take in a game if headed that way in the country.

Being a cards fan, I'm super happy I got to catch them play the cubbies on the Friday before 4th of July. If you remember correctly, the cards beat the cubs by 16 runs, but I digress. Wrigleyville is an amazing area, and it was really cool to go through this experience again while watching the game. We sat at the bleachers with our $18 beers (yikes, yet typical) and had the best time. It wasn't super hot this day due to a storm (thank goodness) but definitely recommend taking some sunscreen, glasses, and a hat if you find yourself there when the sun is blazing. It's less crowded and for what you pay everything is included. The unlimited food and drinks which are not cheap there. They have Chicago style hotdogs, burgers, Italian beef, snacks and beer and wine. The views on the rooftops vary but ours was nice and the weather was great. We took the el this time and it's so convenient to get off right at Addison. They beat the Pirates 12-2 and we had a great time!

You get such a great feeling of history in this historic 1950s ballfield. They have real dugouts for teams, plenty bleacher space, a scoreboard with scorekeepers (by hand scorekeeping!) And a cute sandbox with buckets and shovels to keep little ones busy. Also, a snack shack with very inexpensively priced beverages, food, and sweet treats for your family. The volunteers who run this place are amazing and really pleasant! We happened to go to watch the older boys play an all star game memorial day weekend and they had some extra fun activities going on. There is a parking lot, but it is small. You can also park on some side streets. It is definitely an enjoyable time!
