Not only was I treated extremely well and compassionately in all areas of care, the level of skill and dentistry involved was really A++. Their approach is truly client centered. Their office is run with a real team level of cooperation and integration, from the receptionist at the door to the assistants and doctors. The procedure I went through with them (dentures) was life changing and difficult for me. But they adeptly guided me in my choices and worked hard to assist me through this difficult transition. Today I enjoy smiling again, I wear a full set of dentures comfortably; and I consider myself lucky to have found them, and therefore able to write such a good review. With my really bad tooth he numbed it then checked with the cold test and I could still feel it so he put even more Novocain in it and I didn't feel a thing during the procedure!!! I had a series of bad dental experiences in another state that scared me off. I went to Dr. Jim for a consultation and scheduled my appointment for two weeks later. It was nice to know what price to expect (by attending his consultation first). He is friendly and personable and works efficiently. I fully trust his skills- I think he loves what he does and he is very good at it. His staff was also very nice. They were sensitive to my TMJ and let me rest when I needed to. I was in a private room and got to watch television while my crown was being made. I recommend them 100%.

My primary dentist referred me to Dr Fergus for a root canal - she did one for me in January and a second last week so yeah, lots of dental fun for me recently. I'd never had a root canal before and to say that I am terrified of doctors and anyone who might stick me with a needle is an understatement. Both Dr Fergus and everyone on staff here went out of their way to put me at ease even though I was a giant baby about the whole thing. And in truth - both root canals were painless. Even after, I really had no discomfort than an ibuprofen couldn't handle. They do offer nitrous gas and my advice is to DO THAT. It helped my overall anxiety and made the procedures way better for everyone involved. I'm finally pain free for the first time in a year (no joke) and I'm immensely grateful to Dr Fergus. If you need a root canal, she's the one you want doing it.

Dr Gainey was excellent, patient and quick on his root canal. However, the office staff did a bait…read moreand switch. I chose them over my regular dentist for the root canal because they took my dental savings plan and it would be almost half the price of what it would be at my dentist with my dental insurance. After calling them and telling them exactly what plan I had, confirmed with the savings plan they were covered. I had the appt, paid cash after again talking to the person at the desk, the same amount she confirmed with the savings plan cost. Months later I get a bill for the remainder telling me that they don't take that savings plan, the desk person is no longer there and now its my problem to deal with. The new staff I talked to said I had maxed out my insurance which is a lie, its not even half used and I hadn't used it there and they didn't have my insurance info. Lesson learned, I guess I have to have the desk person put it writing that is what they are doing rather than take their word. Unfortunately, it soured me and I am not going back.

I was…read morevery nervous, as my husband has had a couple root canals and both had failed and hurt him a lot, so I didn't really want to have one done if I could help it. In fact, I was ready to pull the tooth instead of get the root canal! When I got there, I feel like the receptionist who checked me in was quite cold, which didn't help my anxiety while there, but I was quickly seen and taken to Dr. Ferris' room for the consult. Dr. Ferris, I have to say, was amazing. He not only came in to look at my tooth and the x-rays during a thorough exam, but he also spent time with me going over my fears and anxiety over root canals. He told me that my root was inflamed and that is what was causing my pain, and that a root canal would definitely be the way to go. He confirmed what my referring doctor had said that pulling a healthy tooth was not in my best interest, and would be much more expensive. The final thing that he told me that convinced me he was right was that he told me he could perform the root canal from start to finish in 10 minutes tops and it would be painless. He was so confident, and so knowledgeable, and was genuinely concerned about my health that I agreed. And he was right! I was done in 10 minutes and didn't feel a thing! He explained that my husband's root canals probably failed because my husband's general dentist had done them instead of sending my husband to a specialist. They are specialists for a reason! TL;DR: If your general dentist says you need a root canal and that they will do it for you, I'd recommend going to a specialist instead. Dr. Ferris is amazing at his job, and I highly recommend him if you need one done!

They tried to do the procedure in the dentist's office, but they weren't able to get me numb enough, and referred me to Capital Endodontics. I was nervous going in - the experience in the dentist's office the week before had me convinced this was going to be a painful procedure. Dr. Landwehr immediately put me at ease. His chair-side manner was amazing, and the first thing he explained was why I experienced pain when the dentist tried to do the procedure, and how they would numb me so that wouldn't be repeated. He then went on to explain what was going on with my tooth, why I needed the root canal, how they would do the procedure, and why it was the right solution. The procedure itself was comfortable and quick. Dr. Landwehr was thorough in explaining what was going on the entire time - what I would smell, hear, and feel - which I greatly appreciated. I think one of the most notable things about the whole experience is the absence of any post-procedure discomfort or pain. My jaw is slightly sore from my mouth being open for so long, but the tooth and surrounding area feel fine - no sensitivity, no tenderness. I had my procedure around 2:45pm and by about 6:30pm all of the numbness was gone and I was able to eat a (relatively soft) dinner without any pain or discomfort in the tooth. I highly recommend these folks if you need a root canal, and from the other reviews here, looks like you can't go wrong with any of their practitioners!

He is the only dentist that we have gone to that we have never felt a shot before any procedure! Dr. Jim and his amazing staff make everything go so smoothly that you're done before you know it!
