I've visited the Ealing branch of Five Guys about three or four times now so I suppose I ought to…read morereview! I have very mixed feelings on five guys, this branch in particular. My food has never been fantastic, more like slightly better than McDonalds but much more expensive. I ordered the hotdog my second visit and honestly, I've been put off hot dogs since. It was swimming in grease, almost to the point of being inedible. The burgers are tasty but for the price I could have proper service and a better burger at GBK literally across the road. The best thing about five guys and it's gained it an extra star, is the amazing drinks machine. It has so many flavours and combinations, with almost all options being available in sugar free/diet varieties. It offers so many drinks that can usually only be found in the US.

When it comes to burger chains I must say GBK is doing it right. I find it hard to pick between…read moretheir burger selection as they are all delicious and always quite filling. Their chips and drinks are great as well, so you should make sure you go with an empty stomach and enjoy everything properly. Many find it hard to finish their food as I have seen. Considering there's several restaurants around London you will be able to find one of them to try out but I must say the Spitalfields one is a good option so you can have a walk around the market as well. In terms of price I find it quite reasonable but I have also seen that they do have a lovely menu deal consisting of their standard burgers, chips and a drunk all for under £10. I am quite eager to go back and try all the different burgers available as I'm sure they have to be equally awesome.

The cod was HUGE, juicy and can be eaten even without tarter sauce. My friend who lived in the area said the price was amazing for the size and quality compared to other fish & chip places. My other friend got chicken wings and said they were really good.

I believe the owners are a married couple as well, which I appreciate. I had the battered sausage and a large order of chips the first time. I split the large chips with a friend, so it came out to £2.10 for me. Everything was wrapped up nicely for us. When you unwrap your food, it is quite greasy but that's what I'm looking for really when I'm eating sausage and chips. It was perfect as it was, greasy but delicious. I only regret not having some sauces. At the counter, they do have some sauces like ketchup or mayo and I wish I had taken that to go somehow as well. Second visit I had the classic fish and chips. I knew from before that Bert's portions were huge so I ordered the small cod and small chips. Again, quite a hefty takeaway for maybe £5. The lady added oil and vinegar. You could really taste it on the fish and it was perfect. Extraordinarily filling. Would definitely recommend, but perhaps on an infrequent basis, as the food is obviously not the healthiest.
