I have been in search of the best smash burger in San Diego and Eat Crispy Burger is among the best. I have been a regular a Regent's pizza for years and have walked past this place many times without giving the place much notice, and now I wish I had given the place more attention earlier. The checkout was easy and quick, you add your order a kiosk and then get a text a few minutes later telling you when your order will be ready for pick up. I tried the double original crispy burger. The burger is simple and well executed with grilled onions, two smash patties with melted cheese on a brioche bun. My favorite burgers are the simple ones that don't overwhelm you by combining too much on sauce with unnecessary toppings. This burger hit the mark by combing great taste with a crispy patty and minimal ingredients all for a reasonable price. I will be coming here again very soon. read more

Pretty average, not bad in any means but nothing amazing about it. Biggest issue was the amount of sauce they covered the burger in, as they say a little dab will do ya, notice how it's not "a big ass glob will do ya". Kids loved this one in Carlsbad so glad one opened up closer to us. The hamburger was juicy and big for a double. You could customize it and stuff. The sauces were a hit for my kids. The French fries at crispy level were great and I would say using avocado oil is such a rare thing these days. I got an original burger combo (burger, fries, large drink) for $14, and I think the value of it was pretty good. I added lettuce to mine (can also add onions and peppers for free). Burger was big for a smashburger, fries were a nice portion, got a free sauce, and they had lemonades/jamaica/horchata as other drinks along soda. Open kitchen design so I saw them cook/fry everything fresh. Burger patty was seasoned well, smashed for the crispy edge, and the center still had some meat to savor on. The brioche bun was toasted and soft, but super big and hid the patty flavor a bit. My preference are smaller buns like potato rolls because it allows the patty to shine, so it would have been nice to have that option. The grilled onions could have been cooked a lil longer for the browning and caramelization, because mine lacked a bit in flavor. Overall, chill spot if you are in the area and want a savory smashburger. Inside is super clean, and I super appreciate them for making everything fresh given I came at a random time. The two people working were so friendly and nice. Also given this place is family-owned, I appreciate that they have been able to keep the prices good while using good ingredients. They fry everything in avocado oil and that stuff is not cheap. Nothing in the burger felt "cheap" or trying to cut corners. The Eat Crispy Burger empire is growing.  I started eating at Eat Crispy Burger back in 2022 when the first location opened in Encinitas.  The delicious burgers and the warm family atmosphere was a winning combination.  I was happy to see the 4th location is within biking distance and there is bike parking in the parking lot. I ordered a double burger with bacon, lettuce, and tomato.  Beef was tender and had a nice char which accentuated the mild beef flavor.  Bacon was crispy with a smoky flavor.  Lettuce and tomato was fresh, adding some moisture to the burger.  Very good tasting burger. Onion rings had a crunchy outer layer and was full of fried onion flavor.  Fries were crispy and had a tasty fried potato flavor. I found out they make their own lemonade here.  Strawberry lemonade had a mix of sweet strawberry and sour lemon flavor.  Mango lemonade had a mix of sweet mango and sour lemon flavor.  Both were very good.  Much better than the lemonade I've tried from soda machines. 2nd visit I ordered a Monster Burger.  There are a ton of flavors from the hash brown, beef patty, sausage, ham, and eggs.  Awesome breakfast with the ham being especially tasty. Great restaurant. Hate the parking. Unfortunately it's located in the same parking lot of Regents Pizza so it gets tough with parking. When you first walk in, there is an ordering kiosk on the left. I love the kiosk option because it allows me to explore the menu without feeling panicked to order quickly. Got the impossible burger and crazy fries. For my burger, I added an egg and jalapeños. Unfortunately however, I didn't get jalapeños in it. The burger itself had good flavor. The bun to meat/filling ratio though was a little off. I felt like there was a little too much bun. But now I know how to order it next time because the kiosk has a a lot of modification options which I love. Tried this place with wifey on a whim (initially planned to go to Rubicon Deli next door but this caught our eye) and absolutely loved this place! Place is nice and clean, and they have kiosks for ordering or you can go up to the front and order. Wifey ordered the OG single which she loved and I got the double Cowboy Crispy Burger. Patties are nice, juicy despite the smashed texture and has the crispy edges you are looking for in a smash burger. Toppings on it were delicious. Service was great, they call out your food and the server asked me if I wanted sauces ahead of time already instead of me asking which I appreciated. I love a good onion ring and I feel like places have given up on it because it's so difficult to get right. This is no exception. The fries are like fresher Burger King fries; I think they may batter them or add starch but they are crispy AF. My first order the onion rings were very bread-y and fried deeply to the point of burning. My second order was less breaded and almost perfect. I've loved the original location for a few years but made my first trip to this location yesterday; it's quite possible I had the best burger of my life. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and in today's economy the prices were very reasonable. We ordered the all American with fries and the OG with rings and everything was amazing and bordering on perfection. Properly seasoned, crispy-lace edged patties, fresh veggies and the perfect amount of condiments. The fries and rings were also spot on, just the right amount of crunch, served fresh and hot. The best part of this visit was that I see a brand growing and hitting the mark. So many places expand too fast and service or quality drops, that is not the case here. Let's start with the burger. I got the triple patty and added the hash brown in the middle! No lettuce, tomato or raw onions. Just the cheese, onions, and sauce. Sometimes those veggies tend to drown out the meat flavor a bit and I wanted more of the meat flavor and crunch to be present in each bite. The burger had amazingly balanced flavor and I liked the thinness of each patty which had a little crispiness to it. The thinness did a good job of capturing the flavor in each patty and the hash brown was a great addition for my personal preference. I'm thinking I need to add the fried egg next time for a perfect compliment to the meat and potatoes!!! Ok next up, the chicken sandwich. I ordered no pickles, but it came with them anyway. Not a big deal, I picked them out of the sandwich. The hot honey sriracha was a great sauce for this sandwich!! Loved the flavor combo and I did dip a couple of bites into their ranch. Yum! :) Lastly, the fries and the onions were golden, crunchy and flavorful! I even took them to go and they stayed crispy and didn't steam into softness. They gave me a couple of ranch sauces on the side and this was the right sauce for practically everything. LOL This is definitely a place I will be revisiting with great frequency and probably mixing up the flavor choices and seeing how much more enjoyable it could be.
