There is a collection you should check out. Crafting? Creating? Building? So many great ideas!! Now I have a burning desire to figure out what to do with the circular 1m diffusion covers for light fixtures. Cold Frame? Hmmmm. The folks here are super friendly & always helpful. There are rooms full of salvaged items and new vintage looking items. Whether your in need of some old doors, cabinets, lighting, fixtures, theatre chairs, windows, stone, nuts/bolts, handles, sink, toilet, furnace, fireplace, baseboard, barn board, shelving, and the list goes on. And on, and on. The fellow who owns the place is super friendly and great to talk to. It would be a miss if I didn't mention Murphy, the adorable store dog who wanders around like he owns the place. I secretly think he does. Make sure to say hi to him while you're there. It's worth stopping in here every month or so, because their stock changes regularly and you never know what you'll find! Happy treasure hunting!

You could easily walk by this store, but don't! It's totally worth taking a peek inside. They only…read moresell items from local makers and it's wonderful. I've found so many unusual gifts from jewelry, to sweaters, to plants! It can be on the pricy side... but it's local and handmade and worth it. Did I mention I love all the things? The girls inside are super friendly and knowledgable (and passionate) about all the things they sell and everything local. There is a space at the back that I never noticed before and was advised they use this back room for individual classes. They host so many cute workshops! Build your own terrarium or learn calligraphy. If you have a group big enough you can choose a date and they will arrange a workshop just for you. I'm so into everything this place is doing. Who wants to learn calligraphy with me?

But recently, on my quest for some chocolate from the Violet Chocolate Company, I finally stopped in. The shop is super cozy and has this rustic feel. All of the products carried in store are handmade and produced in Alberta. There is a decent range of products; from chocolate to more household gifts.. and they are all nicely organized by producers. This is definitely the perfect place to stop if you're looking for an offbeat, more unique type of gift! The staff are quite friendly and excited to chat with you about various products. There is a really nice homey feel!

Stay away from this company! I had a repair person come to my home to look at repairs to an old…read morecoffee table from 1960. The estimate for the repairs and refinishing was $370 and would take two weeks to complete at the shop. 2 Months went by and I never heard anything from this company so I call and ask. I'm told the table will be done by the end of the week or early the following week for sure. Also it was taking this long because they are trying to keep the cost below $250. I thought OK $120 savings from the original quote this isn't so bad. A couple a weeks pass and still no table. I send an email asking if the table is done as I was informed it would be done a couple of weeks ago. The reply sent to me was a short note stating; The table is not done yet if you need it go pick it up at the shop these things take time! This sparked a phone call to head office who were more then willing to look into the matter and get me some firm answers. Head office gets back to me and informs me that in two weeks the table will be done. Almost 3 weeks later I e-mail head office to ask where is this table? Again they look into it and said yes it should be done this week. Two days later it was delivered. The top was refinished and looked nice and I could live with the fact that the top was now a different colour then the rest of the table (lighter) but the bill shocked me. Original quote $370 estimated time to complete, 2 weeks. Original quote dropped down to $250. Final bill $565 Total time to complete 3 Months.
