I have…read morelearnt many workouts & movements that I haven't seen / tried before so using muscles that I haven't used much before really helped my fitness & starting to get into shape (this is despite having been a member of other gyms / studios etc). I know I tend to slack off with treadmills by myself. The best thing about Fitbox is by enjoying new workouts & learning new techniques/ developing your fitness - you just naturally feel better & want more! Don't hold off because you think you don't have any boxing experience cuz you don't need it. Just show up & the rest takes care of itself. 1. Trainer - Ricardo is a great listener & leader who truly wants to support your needs. 2. Workout stations - I love trying each workout guided by Ricardo. Every day is something a bit different that makes it fun & interesting. It is not just typical 10 dumbbells rep etc but just adding that extra spice & challenge. 3. Studio - I like the studio set up. You won't get distracted cuz you're purely just working out on yourself. Everyone has a great positive attitude & it helps you. It's not like a typical franchise gym where it looks big/ fancy but I can get distracted then slack off. You'll be surprised by how much you will enjoy Fitbox.

I've taken classes taught by every instructor -- their instructions are clear and they always put an emphasis on safety and care. The instructors quickly troubleshoot each student's execution of the techniques and provide individualized tips or customizations to accommodate individual strengths or weaknesses (e.g., a less flexible back, etc.). Often, the instructors will demonstrate the technique 1:1, showing how a correct execution should feel -- super helpful. I've trained with many other students so far, and I've experienced that same caring energy and focus on teaching from each of them. The techniques are also available online with great emphasis on detail, which further eases and accelerates learning both before and after class. The sessions are simultaneously challenging, enjoyable, intellectually stimulating, and a great workout. Also big thanks to coach Ben, with whom I've trained the most -- a fantastic teacher! NAK2 is an excellent team to train and learn BJJ with, and I couldn't be more excited about this gym and their classes.

Sure enough, the very polite person on duty turned to the computer, punched a few keys (no pun intended) and then told me I was good to go. What? Why couldn't I do this over the phone? It makes no sense. All I can imagine was the upsell. They tried to upsell me into buying individual sessions. No thanks. Again, great people but poor business practices. Took one star off of my 3 star rating. Here I am now (June) doing a few bills online. What's this I see? 9Round charged me for June? Huh? I see charges every month which stopped in May but then picked back up in June. Odd. Minus another star. I won't be going into the facility to cancel again.

The space is always clean and well organized. Russel has been the only trainer I've worked with so far and he's great. He is super friendly, but also brings a level of joking that makes you feel like you've been coming there for months rather than days. While he is nice, he's also there to make you work. He pushes and motivates you to work harder. Maybe more importantly, his playlists are always on point. He has been very helpful whenever I ask what a move is or how to do it, I have never felt nervous about asking for help like I have in other places. I've been stuck in a funk where I've missed all the mid-day classes at most gyms and would have to go home, disrupt our evening routine to drive somewhere else, then get back to a delayed bedtime for my kid. 9 Round is the best because there are no class times. I pop in right when they open in the afternoon and get home right when the rest of my family does. I've been bringing all my co-workers here. If you're on the fence, you should definitely just go in for your free first workout.

Because I trained with him, she apparently told people at the gym that I was also homophobic and disrespectful. When I arrived, people were giving me dirty looks. Alex confronted me and accused me of talking badly about Cappy's on Facebook. When I asked for proof, her screenshots only showed the other boxer tagging me in posts. She then admitted that I had not said anything. Instead of apologizing and correcting the misinformation, she allowed everyone to continue treating me with hostility. I even felt pressured to disclose that I have a transgender girlfriend just to prove I was not homophobic. I should never have needed to reveal personal information to defend myself against something I did not do. I came to train, not to be publicly judged and humiliated based on someone else's opinions. In my experience, this was handled unprofessionally and without accountability.

Alex, the owner of Cappy's, had an issue with one of the boxers because she believed he was…read morehomophobic. I signed up for sparring, and that boxer trains with me. I simply train with everyone--I do not involve myself in other people's personal opinions. When I walked into the gym, I immediately noticed everyone giving me dirty looks. Apparently, Alex had already given a presentation to everybody portraying me as homophobic and disrespectful toward the gym. Think about how disturbing that is: the owner of a boxing gym publicly turned an entire room against me before even asking me what happened or checking whether the accusation was true. I smiled and shook her hand because I was excited to be there. She responded with hostile energy, stepping up to me as if she wanted to pull up on me. I was shocked and confused. She accused me of talking shit about Cappy's Gym on Facebook, so I asked her to show me exactly what I had done. She pulled up screenshots--and all they showed was the other boxer tagging me in pictures from Cappy's posts. She then admitted that I had not actually said anything. That should have ended with an immediate apology. She should have told everyone in the gym that she was wrong for portraying me that way. Instead, she allowed the poison, hostility, and hatred she had created among the gymgoers toward me to continue flowing. I was left standing in a gym full of people who had already been encouraged to judge me for something I never said or did. The most humiliating part was that I felt forced to disclose that I have a transgender girlfriend before she would "accept me." Basically, at Cappy's, you apparently have to prove that you are not homophobic--even when you did absolutely nothing--simply because the owner decided that you were. I did not deserve any of that. In my experience, Alex was egotistical, hostile, and completely unwilling to take accountability after admitting that the accusation against me was unsupported. Owning a gym does not give someone the right to damage a person's reputation, turn an entire group against them, confront them aggressively, and then refuse to correct the situation after discovering the truth. She appears to have bought the gym with her parents' money after only two years of boxing experience. Money may buy a gym, but it does not automatically buy maturity, leadership, experience, or accountability. What happened to me was not professional conflict resolution. It felt like public humiliation, social poisoning, and an abuse of authority by the person responsible for making the gym safe and welcoming.
