Decided to skip the middle-of-the-night trip to do laundry since I wasn't in the mood to be hassled for my laundry change. Showed up around 6:30AM instead... and there were still a couple groups of people piled in the corner sleeping around the table. It's unsightly but at least this group didn't give off the, 'give me your quarters or I'm going to stab you on your way to the car' vibe. After I tossed my laundry in the dryer I drove to McDonald's for an ice tea and upon returning noticed two of Athens' finest outside. Apparently the owner had seen a Yelp review and decided to have them check in from time to time. They asked them to leave, offering to drive them to a shelter... so I didn't feel like too much of an asshole. They've stepped it up. Therefore I've stepped my rating up. read more

I'm a volunteer laundry person for a 150 member touring music ensemble. We wash their uniforms approximately every week to ten days. It's a huge task! This laundromat is amazing. Many, very very high quality, high efficiency machines. SEVERAL change machines so that we don't run out of quarters or access thereto. Yes, that happens. Comfortable (ceiling fans!), several tables with chairs, plenty of folding space, sufficient number of carts/baskets for us to do our work but not hog them all from other customers. It's immaculate, including the restrooms. Owner very friendly and grateful for our business. Wonderful customer service with the owner on site. This is the best laundromat we've ever been in and we see them all over the country! read more

I'm absolutely thrilled with the drop off laundry service at Eastside, the rates are very reasonable, the location is perfect for my trips into Athens (I live on the far side of Oglethorpe County) and the staff is very nice and are truly professional. Great, big facility. However, they lock the bathrooms which is a huge inconvenience when the other businesses are close.

Staff is friendly and helpful. They do a great job keeping it clean too. I use their wash/fry/fold and my clothes always come back smelling good. read more

I hate going to the laundromat, so I always have about a months worth of clothes to wash when I go. This means two very full standing baskets of clothes. Anywho, that's besides the point. I have been going to this laundromat for a while and haven't had much trouble. It's kept clean and the machines are great. Today however, was not such a great experience, hence the two stars. I know better than to go do laundry on a Sunday (I've made that mistake only once), but I was up early and wanted to just get it done. With Spring Break around the corner, I didn't want to fuss with laundry, so today was the day. I was up around 8am and was ready to get laundry packed up, but my stomach had other plans. So...two hours later, just after 10am I was finally out the door. I saw that it was already getting busy when I pulled up, but went ahead with it anyway. I go in, use the large $8..machine, everything was fine. Then about the time I'm ready to put my clothes in the dryer, it was getting crowded & there were only 4 dryers available. Maybe even 3. There was 2 large (which is what I needed) and 1 or 2 small ones available. I wait patiently for one lady to check the dryer (below the one I was waiting for), for dry clothes, pull them out, then restart her dryer. I move in, put my clothes in the two dryers as quickly as possible to get out of the way, and go sit down. Both of my dryers were set for 30 minutes. I'm on my phone (most people are...it's boring at the laundromat) and I hear one lady commenting. All I heard was "...she....get clothes out of the dryer". Well whoever or whatever she was talking about, it got my attention. I glance over and see my dryers stopped. I grab my change, head over and check my clothes. One wasn't quite dry, so I added six more minutes & the other was ready, so I pulled them out. I then sat back down after that. I'm a bit claustrophobic so I chose not to stand there & wait. I got on my phone again and was deep in searching something, as I look over to check my clothes I see they were still tumbling. Moments later, it felt like, I glance over to check again...yep still tumbling. I continue my research on my phone...at some point, I can't tell you how long, but it didn't feel like more than 4 to 5 minutes, I glance over again only this time, I don't see my clothes!!!!!! There appears to be a man loading in HIS clothes!!! Steam was coming out of my ears, I was thinking who would do that! I was prepared to speak to this man about handling people's clothing. I go over to the dryer & my clothes are nowhere in sight. I stand there staring, wondering if I was literally going insane! I know I'd had a VERY rough week & have been stressed to the point of missing brain cells, but geez louis there was no way I had gone THIS mad! Standing in front of me was the employee, who had a table full of folded clothes & was still folding. I said to her "uuhhh, my clothes are missing?" She said "oh, if they're missing then they're over there in that bag". I looked over to where she had pointed & there sat a huge bag full of clothes, on the nasty floor, in the corner next to the storage closet. I said to her "you couldn't have told somebody? You couldn't have let me know??!!... I was sitting right there!!!" as I pointed to the table clearly visible from the dryers and where she was standing. She replied with "yeah, we didn't know who's clothes they were.....when it's this busy and the dryer stops, we just take the clothes out". I huffed and went over to grab my clothes. As I did this I noticed a huge hole in the bag. I'm talking, a hole the size of a basketball! I was raging mad!! I stopped by her table again & asked if ALL of my clothes were in there and she replied with "yes, I always rotate the dryers to make sure all the clothes are out". I bet she didn't check the floor! I have yet to put my clothes away, so I don't know yet if anything is missing...or still wet for that matter. I do not appreciate this at all!!!!!!! I don't want ANYONE touching my clothes!!! I'm sure anybody would feel the same way. I can't believe she did that while I sat right there. She didn't even give me a chance to come get my clothes out. Didn't have the respect, decency, or smarts to see there were people sitting, waiting for their clothes, & announce the dryer number to give the person (me) a chance to come get them. OMG I'm still pissed off. I don't know if I'll ever be back to this laundromat or not. IF I do, it will NEVER be on a SUNDAY again!!!! Another note...the lady working there, was doing laundry which means she was doing drop-offs. WHY?!!! WHY are drop-offs being done on the busiest day of the week, during the busiest hours!!! She was taking up washers and most importantly DRYERS that were much needed!!! This should not be taking place at the busiest times. I am still furious. It's not like my clothes were sitting in there for 20 minutes. She must have pulled them out minuets after they were done. She was careless at that! read more

I literally just went over to preview Eastside Coin Laundry.. It's been years since I was in a laundromat and wasn't sure if it was cash only and what type of soap I needed. Well, I didn't even get through the door before two, what appeared to be homeless, men started to approach me. I stopped in my tracks and looked at the two guys and they moved in front of the door so I turned and left. This was at 3:00 PM in the AFTERNOON! Going to check out the place by Krogers. I want to feel safe and not be part of a shake down just to wash my work clothes. read more

Clean and convenient place to get my laundry done. The washers were big enough for my blankets and there were a lot of open dryers for me to use. Staff was friendly and the floors and bathrooms were clean. I will be returning to this business in the future. read more
