Specialties
We treat our patients as we would our own families, and as a result our patients are our second families.
We try to make your dental appointment a relaxed occasion: have a cup of coffee in the waiting room, or a massage in one of our massage chairs.
We see everyone from babies to adults, and do all aspects of dentistry including hygiene, restorative, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, and implants.
We are preferred providers for Premera, Regence, Guardian and many Cigna, Aetna and Metlife plans. We are premier providers for Delta Dental. We accept most other insurance plans except Apple Health, which we are unable to take at this time.
History
Established in 1958.
Eastgate Dental has been family owned and operated since 1958. Dr. Ellen Reh bought the practice from her father Dr. Donald Stewart in 2000. Shortly after Dr. Julie Johnson joined the team. She was a fellow classmate of Dr. Reh's in dental school and they share the same conservative outlook on oral care. In 2014 Dr. Elizabeth Smith, Dr. Reh's sister, joined the practice.
Many of the members of our team have been here for a decade or longer. We joke that once you are hired, this becomes the office that you will retire from. You are sure to be greeted at your appointments with familiar faces.
Meet the Business Owner: Ellen R.
Dr. Ellen Reh has been a part of Eastgate Dental for most of her life. While still in high school, she worked in the office as an assistant. After graduating from dental school at the University of Washington in 2000, she purchased the practice from Dr. Stewart, her father. Many of Dr. Ellen's patients are members of families who have been coming to see her and her father for decades. Dr. Ellen's patients say they value her compassion, dedication, and sense of humor, and trust her to treat them as she would her own family.
Passionate about helping others, Dr. Ellen has spent hundreds of hours volunteering in poor and underserved areas, such as Kenya, Uganda, and Jamaica, and she is a board member of the nonprofit International Smile Power Foundation. Recently, she has decided to focus her efforts more on the need in our own community, so she has started organizing free clinic days for the residents of Tent City.
