Was recommended so even though it is a drive from us, we kept our appt and got tires at a great price, with warranty and some tire service perks for the life of the tires. We got a call when everything was done. No tire alignment so had it done at another service center nearby. Card fee for credit/debit card use, not for Checks or cash. Can wait in the location but it's also walking distance from a Starbucks, or other eateries a bit further away which we opted for. read more

I had a flat. AAA put the spare (donut) on. I went to Eastern State. He REPAIRED the tire. He determined the exact type of Michelin it is (there are several models. They put the repaired tire back on. He told me how much tread his left on it. Awesome professional, friendly service. All the employees are nice. ( Paying cash saves you 3%). Went in to purchase tires and have an oil change. Staff was friendly and helpful. They now charge a credit card fee ( which is ridiculous for a large business and seems to be the new thing in Rockland County). They had an incorrect address for my account, the tech did not reset the oil change reminder, and damaged a tire valve stem which I had to pay to replace (part only). My wife took a chunk out of the sidewall of her tire when she cut too close to a curb. She called the tire shop and checked with George about availability. He said it was in stock and would be $175 installed plus tax. I met her there and another gentleman said he wanted to see the tire. He walked outside with us and said, "Good news. The chunk you took out is from the curb protector, no cords are showing, so nothing needs to be done". Wow! I was speechless. He certainly did not have to tell us that. We were ready to replace the tire. His honesty was so appreciated. We will continue to go to Eastern Tire for all our tire needs. Thank you! read more

I have been a long-time customer of Eastern State. I have always purchased my tires from them and used them for other repairs. I have always just stopped by and dropped my truck off, and they call me later in the day to say it was done. I have never needed an appointment prior to yesterday. I am not sure what has changed here but I went in on a Saturday to have my tires switched to new wheels, a relatively simple job. I was told that they couldn't fit me in, despite me being there 1st thing at 8 am. In addition, Joe kind of had a bit of an attitude that I was asking for something extra. I left saying I would take my business elsewhere. From their parking lot, I called Mavis around the corner and asked if I needed an appointment? The manager said no, and I went there straight away. Long story short, yhey did my tires and the mechanic found out I needed brakes also and I spent over $1000. That is money you lost out on Eastern. Goodbye. read more

Before getting into details, let me begin with. I do NOT recommend this company. I had a very similar experience to many others. Dishonest and liars. I have a 2016 GLE400 that we've NEVER had an issue with. It came time to get my tires and brakes changed and like I always do I was going to go direct to Mercedes. Some of my coworkers said don't go their take your car to Castle Auto they are fantastic. Unfortunately, Castle couldn't take the vehicle as they didn't have the equipment for my year of Mercedes. They referred me to Eastern State, I should have just went to Mercedes and been done. I took the vehicle to Eastern State to save approximately $900. They took the vehicle in promptly. Gave me a phone call that there was some damage to the rims that they didn't want to be responsible for. Which they shouldn't have to be. My wife banged them up. They ordered the tires and parts that I needed and turned the car around quickly. This is when everything went south. After about a week and half of driving the vehicle, it started making a horrific metal on metal noise from the back right tire. So bad that I called the shop and they told me to immediately stop driving the car and get it to them immediately. I live in Westchester county, approximately 21 miles away and had to get a tow truck. Eastern State told me they would cover the cost of the tow truck assuming they did something wrong. I would say metal on metal noise that was so loud that everyone driving near us was pointing at our car and honking for us to pull over on our 1 mile drive home is something they did wrong. We had the car towed for $190, two days later I get a phone call that the car is fine and they they didn't find anything. They said that they also took it to Mercedes to have a second opinion. This is where I call BS on the situation. First, for anyone that has owned a new vehicle you can't take it to the dealership without a record of service or inspection against the Vin #, none can be found. 2nd, the gentleman driving the tow truck stated that he had never heard a noise that bad coming from a tire or break system. Eastern State claims that there was no problem when the car was brought in?? Rather than just admitting they had made a mistake and covered my $190 towing fee and my $45 uber fee to get there to pick up the vehicle they stated they did NOTHING wrong. They are liars and crooks and very dishonest individuals. I would not recommend this business to anyone that is looking for an honest business that will take ownership of their work. The car appears to be fine now but I'm out anther $235. Let my $235 extra in charges be a lesson to everyone out there to AVOID EASTERN STATE TIRE!!! read more

I'm so happy to have a chance to review such a great company. Joe and Justin were amazing. I had gone to Mavis first but computer system had gone down. I landed here with no appointment I was taken right away. These men couldn't have been more helpful. It turned out that Mavis had put 2 truck tires on my Honda Odyssey. Joe actually sent me back to Mavis to have them put two new correct size tires on. When I went back to Mavis they couldn't find any of my prior visits/information. I'd say that was very convenient. 1st visit: 12/13/14- bought new tires because they had the best price around, come to find out upon that day, sales guy quoted me incorrect price!! Had no choice but to leave my car & agreed to pay, as I needed new tires before winter hits. He gave me a $7 discount per tire but sadly could not honor the price he quoted me on the phone. Then alignment computer was down so he adv I return the car & they'll honor $99 price. 2nd visit: 1/10/15- scheduled alignment as owed last month. They said it would take an hour, they're 1man down so I will wait longer than expected. Another excuse that disrupted my schedule; a bad experience to make an easy decision NEVER bring my cars or give them any business again!!! Stopped here after I had an issue with one of my tires. The staff here was friendly, efficient, and professional. I bought new tires, and they did their best to fit me in and install and align them when they were extremely busy. I've stopped back there twice since I purchased the tires with other issues and they have always been more than happy to help me. read more

I have been a longtime loyal customer with Eastern. They provide tire access and basic auto repairs. I have purchased over $2000 worth of tires in the last 1 1/2 years. I came to them recently with the 5th tire purchase for my car in about 2 years - I asked Joe for an accommodation to help me out on the cost - Tire retail was $455 !! - I felt that with all the business I have given them, I earned this ask, as difficult as these times have been for all. At the time of payment, he told me the owner would offer a $5.00 discount and an additional $10 tire coupon. I was totally blindsided that I felt compelled to give the $15 back. I never felt so insulted and demeaned. An excellent local customer for years and he throws me a $15 discount off of a retail list price tire. Joe told me the owner would only offer the $5 and coupon for $10. If it was my business, I would not have wronged a good customer, that in the past had never asked for consideration. Terrible customer relations from this business. To lose the potential revenue from this customer for another 5% makes no sense. These guys give ice in winter. Have always thought this. I started using this place because Mavis tires has the most obnoxious salesmen and the wait times are ridiculously long. Eastern tires while not cheap provided a little quicker service when I bought tires in the past. Today I came in with a flat tire and was told 30 to 45 minutes. After waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes they finally took my car in only to tell me the tire was not repairable. It's obvious they put me on low priority because of the low cost of the potential job. Stay away, especially women going in solo. They tried to convince me there were at least 5 absurd things that needed to be fixed ASAP, and I didn't believe it but the guy started to get rude. It got to the point where I, a young adult, had to call my own father to talk to them because they were being so disrespectful. Instead of having them return my car he agreed to let them only replace a gasket, which after four days started to leak; none of the other issues they were arguing so persistently ever came up from any mechanic after them, or even the dealership. After getting it back and taking it to a more respectable mechanic, it turned out the car just had some bad gas in it from sitting for a while.. fancy that. read more

Typical auto shop nonsense. One of my CV boots had worn out, so I needed the front axle replaced. I brought it in and told them, and they told me that it would be $240 flat. Fine. The guy took my name and refused to correct it after grossly misspelling it. A few hours later, they call to let me know that it is, in fact, the CV boot, and to confirm the $240 price. I authorize the work. An hour later, they call again to tell me that I need an alignment. I do some research on the Internet, and find that this typically isn't necessary. I call back and ask why it's necessary, and if I should drive the car first to see if it's out of alignment, as replacing the axle typically does not require adjustments to the wheels. The guy tells me that it 100% needs it after this type of work and that he has his best guy working on it (yeah, right). Well, if it was 100% that it would need an alignment, why not tell me that from the beginning? I ask how much the alignment is, and am told $110. Knowing I can get an alignment for half that price elsewhere, I say no thanks, and he abruptly ends the conversation and hangs up. I go to pick up my car (to their credit, it was ready on time), and take it for a spin. Sure enough, there is no problem with the alignment, and it would have been a complete waste of money. I understand that this is the game that most repair shops play, always trying to upsell you on services you don't need. But it will be the last time I take my car there. I will not give my business to places I cannot trust, and clearly they are not honest with their customers. I'll give them an extra star for getting the work done in a timely manner and at a reasonable price, but will look elsewhere next time my car needs work. read more

DISHONEST. I called ahead of time to check if my tire was in stock ($140). They tell me they have the tire in stock so i drop the car off. When i return to pick it up, they claim they didn't have it and try to charge me $220! I wouldn't have brought it if you didn't have the tire, i could have waited. I also but Road Hazard on every tire, every time, yet when i come for service, EVERYTIME they try to tell me magically the tire i am coming for does not have the road hazard. I then have to convince them to look into their UNORGANIZED records for 20+ minutes until they do in-fact see i have road hazard. I have also been standing right there at the counter and hear the manager behind the desk chuckle and laugh about how they are going to charge another customer an hours worth of labor for replacing the small cap on the tire where you put the air in. TOTALLY DISHONEST. I have said it multiple times and yet i have gone back under my fathers recommendation. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

My husband & I came here to purchase 4 tires, that we needed for our SUV. Mavis didn't have the tires we needed for 2 weeks. Upon our arrival here, we were greeted warmly & told they'd call us when the car was ready. We went to have lunch at the diner & before we left the diner, we received a call that the tires were on & our truck was ready for pickup. If it took the guys here 1 hour, that was too much. Their service was great & best of all we didn't waste time waiting all day for our truck. We paid & left feeling satisfied! I would definitely come back! They gained us as new customers. WARNING! Don't Go Here! They are VERY DISHONEST! Most if not all of the good reviews are FAKE! Everything I said in my review of them previous is all TRUE! When they write that much to respond to a bad review, they are trying too hard to convince you that they didn't do wrong BUT they did! They charged me TRIPPLE THE LABOR on each thing that they were supposed to do! While I was driving my car, in the middle of driving, my steering went out on me because of this place! It was right after I left there! I can go on and on! I don't make up things, everything is absolutely TRUE of what I said in my previous review! I disputed the charge and WON and they couldn't handle that so they sent my mother a summons to appear in court because the car is in my mothers name and because I WON my dispute and they didn't get paid for "trying" to cheat me! AND It is "my" credit card! Who does that by sending someone who owns the car a summons because they lost a dispute with someone elses credit card!! The people that work there are crazy! Went in for tires and the price was pretty good. Not cheapest but comparable. The folks are pretty nice and wasn't pushy trying to get you more expensive tires. Time to install was about 1.5 hours which does seem long but other than that all was good. Would definitely go here again. read more

Ordered a tire on Tuesday since they weren't picking up there phone on Saturday. Was told the tire would be there Thursday..well on Thursday the tire "missed" the truck...Must have gotten up late or something..and it would be there Friday..Friday comes same thing..tire missed the truck..guess the tire doesn't want to go to work then the weather is nice...My husband calls and they now tell him maybe Monday, and JOE proceeds to yell at him saying listen we told you Thursday or Friday..well I guess now Monday is Thursday or Friday..and my husband started to talk back and he hung up on him. Worst type of professionalism if I've ever seen any. What they should have said was the tire was never put on the truck because obviously someone didn't do their damn job. So inconsiderate. These guys are the best. I have been using them for many years. They are extremely honest. My first trip there I made an appointment to have my breaks done because the garage that did my inspection stated I needed them done soon. Eastern state took a look and told me that my breaks wouldn't need changing for another 15000 miles. They could have just done the work and I would never have known. The only reason I gave the one star is because they were able to take me the same day other than that would NOT recommend this place, one of my tires had a slow leak so it was time for a couple new tires anyway so I took my car there, they came out and looked at all four of my tires, I told the salesman about the tire that was leaking (rear tire) he told me that the two new tires had to go on the front, I said that's fine just put one of the tires still in good condition and replace the leaky tire. He told me don't worry about it your car will be ready in a few hours, I returned just before closing $454 later for two new tires and an alignment, got into my car and turned it on and come to find out the rear tire is still leaking air...... what tire place doesn't at least check the pressure before they release the car back to you?? Isn't that a basic check that should be done?? They closed after I left so I couldn't go back, looks like my rear tire want even touched and the valve cap was missing....... just seems like it's hard to find an honest business now a days.
