The result? oh we will look at it and fix it, must of missed it, because when you walk in -- Mavis Discount Tire Nanuet actually work on appointments. So hey we fixed the flat but you need brake pads (indeed i did), we fixed the flat but you need all four new tires (Indeed I did). We will take a 3 day later, closer look why the tire sensor went off again, oh and you need new shock absorbers the current 2016, 8 year old original shocks need replacing they are leaking (Indeed I did). I drive this car 70 miles a day RT #Brooklyn NYC on the FDR. This coming weekend I will be happy motoring to the Cape and Islands, MA truly w/o doubt, worry or fear thanks to this team at Mavis Discount Tire! Highly recommend. I don't have / need any insurance at all, not even car collision. But when it came time for four new tires last Oct. 2023, I DID GET the tire insurance and you should too! all those three slow leak flat tires repairs were free! I am worth any additional cost. Skilled crew did a fantastic job with no issues. Owner arrived while I was waiting and proactively said hello, asked how everything was going so far and was very courteous - you can tell he takes pride in his business and actually cares about the customer experience. I'm not an active reviewer but when someone exceeds my expectations I am thrilled to be writing a review as soon as I got home. Will be bringing all my tire business to this shop going forward - fast, convenient hours (I arrived at 8am on a Sunday and crew all rolled in at opening time), reasonable prices and most importantly it is clear they know what they are doing and have all the right equipment to get the job done right. I have used literally dozens of tire shops across the Tri-state area for various repairs, tire swaps, TPMS changes etc for a large fleet of cars. I like the independent shops since they can do the one-off requests with no issues (try that at some of the big tire shops and they will argue with you, have you waiting for hours behind a line of other customers, will tell you they won't change less than all 4 tires at same time, etc.). This will now clearly be my go to shop - highly recommend.

Junior mechanic here, and I STRONGLY do NOT recommend this shop…read more For context, my girlfriend got a flat tire and had to be towed to the nearest repair shop because I wasn't available to fix it myself. Unfortunately, that happened to be this place. She was told the repair would be done first thing the next morning, yet a job that normally takes around 20 minutes wasn't completed until the afternoon. To make matters worse, they charged her roughly 50% more than the going rate for a simple tire repair. The most ridiculous part came afterward. They automatically sent a follow-up email telling her to return so they could "retorque the lug nuts & bolts." As someone who works on cars, this is one of the most absurd recommendations I've ever seen for a routine flat tire repair. Any competent technician torques the lug nuts correctly before the vehicle leaves the shop. Sending automated emails like this comes across as nothing more than an attempt to get customers back through the door for unnecessary service. Between the excessive wait time, inflated pricing, and questionable business practices, I have zero confidence in this shop. I strongly recommend taking your vehicle literally anywhere else.
