When we received our bids, they were handed to us in an envelope. The person that handed me mine told me Kappa Delta saw me take money from one of their apartment members drawers and they wrote me a letter. They told the other kid getting his bid with mine that a girl accused him of slapping her on the butt and they wrote him a letter also. It wasn't letters it was our bids. They clearly wanted to psychologically and emotionally emphasize/anchor us on how serious their fraternity was by lying to us using those stories while we received our bid/invitation to be in it. When we received our pledge pins they gazed us then too. They had us dress up in suits, get into the chapter house stair way, and made us blindfold ourselves with our ties. Then they made us walk down the hallway yo the chapter room while threatening to hit us in the balls. Once in the chapter room it was dark and all the brothers were chanting in unison. It sounded similar to yoga sessions I've been to out in California when ending the practice with an Om lol. They had us recite some lines as if it was a vow of marriage. Luckily there was no prenup and I took half in the divorce lol. Then they gave us our pins. On our big brother ceremony night they made us bring duct tape, and a trash can. They made us play Edward 40 hands. It's a game where they put two 40oz beers in each of our hands and duct tape them there until we finished chugging them. They told the five of us who ever finishes last will have to do it over again. Obviously since a human stomach will only hold about 32oz it was a mess of vomit to the finish. Then they announced who our big brothers were and had them hand us a pint of Mad Dog 2020 to chug. One of the guys in our pledge class had heart problems and he didn't look so good during the latter part of the ordeal. I yelled at all the guys and alerted them of the heart problems. Then they tried to blame it on him for not speaking up sooner. They were constantly asking me to DD for them when I had work. It got so bad they were asking me to call in from work. I told them to get their priorities straight. Another hazing incident involved stripping into our underwear and strip/grind dancing on Kappa Delta sorority members. The fraternity had the five of us pledges climb through one of Kappa Deltas members apartment window. We met one of their girls in the room and she had us proceed into the living room/kitchen for the stated activities. I had to work later that night so I was completely sober. It was so awkward and intimidating because there was seven guys (two members of the frat) and around 80 females with way to much estrogen and frustration (we all know how large groups of females are). The ironic thing about KD being the sorority DTD kept the most close relations with, is that DTD fraternity had the lowest grades on campus and KD sorority had the highest on campus. One morning at 9am the fraternity called me and started barking orders at me to come clean a party house because they wanted to day drink. I had worked the previous night until 5am. I told them they could get in serious trouble for the things they were asking us to do if I told the university. The guy I was talking to was previously in the military and didn't respond well to my "threats." I'll let you decide which prideful branch he was in. I had a sit down with the fraternity president, treasurer, and pledge educator. They asked the stupidest questions. "Do you really want to be in the fraternity? We can't have you causing trouble for us. What will you do if times get tough while your trying to accomplish something? Fraternities aren't for everyone." I told them if the thing I was trying to accomplish wasn't for my greater good I would quit. They didn't like that. The review is finished in the photos of their review due to character count limit. Also, you can look up Greek life organizations 990 tax filings on the IRS's exempt organization search. Fraternities and Sororities are non-profit organizations which are considered businesses. That way if anyone ends up in a similar situation you know a reasonable amount to ask for in a lawsuit based off their assets. Unfortunately, Charlestons DTD had less than $50,000 in assets so they do not have a proper example of a full 990 form. If you do a search of them in other towns you can get full examples. Happy searching and good vibes only! https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/allSearch https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/detailsPage?ein=371112555&name=DELTA%20TAU%20DELTA%20FRATERNITY&city=CHARLESTON&state=IL&countryAbbr=US&dba=&type=EPOSTCARD&orgTags=EPOSTCARD
