This an above average welcome center. The counter had not opened yet as I passed through here before dawn. The other information available was very interesting and useful. I love maps and the lobby had two large ones on the wall for viewing. It wasn't until I looked at their map that I realized I was in Illinois and had passed Terra Haute since it was pitch black outside. read more

This rest area has to be one of the freshest and safest rest stops ever. Very clean. They also had plenty of literature on display of the area. Maps, pamphlets, and coupons. Also several vending machines at good prices. Good drink and snack variety. read more

The restrooms wer sort of mediocre - not terrible but as clean as theose usually operated by the state in these highway rest areas. The welcome center attendants were great - very personable, talkative and very helpful. read more

I spent the night here sleeping in my car. I felt safe and the bathrooms were clean. It was your typical rest stop. Thank you for making it available. read more

Just pulled in here to look up directions on the phone, but these Illinois rest areas are fairly expansive compared to most of Indiana's rest areas. Some playground equipment is included and parking is a bit more ample. Did not enter the building so I can't comment on the quality of the facilities but what I saw from the outside was a quality rest stop. read more

If you want a nice, cool drink of water, try out the inside drinking fountain. Tasty! With ample parking on both the passenger vehicle side, and also on the truck & RV side, this rest area sits atop a hill and affords a nice view. The building has that old-time charm and houses not only the restroom and refreshment facilities, but during normal business hours they have a welcome center for the tourists that stop in. I have been stopping here off and on for decades and the whole rest area is always well-maintained and a welcome place to visit. read more

The Rest Area was nice and clean, easy access to everything. Convenient handicapped parking in the back.
