Lover's Paradise in Sherman Oaks!…read more Kreepy Halloween in Sherman Oaks is the spot for everything spooky! From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by an incredible selection of costumes, decorations, and animatronics -- it honestly feels like Halloween heaven. They have something for everyone, whether you're decking out your home, office, or throwing a full-on haunted party. Prices are fair, and there are always great deals to be found. I was impressed by how easy it was to find exactly what I needed -- from last-minute costume accessories to large-scale animatronics and detailed décor pieces. The staff is friendly, and the store layout makes browsing fun and effortless. If you love Halloween (or even just like to decorate), this place is a must-visit. You'll definitely leave feeling inspired -- and probably with a cart full of spooky treasures!

Spirit locations…read moreare generally larger, but this particular location is where Joanne Fabrics used to be, so it is quite huge and the building itself is filled with all sorts of options. Parking is also extremely easy, it's attached to a small shopping center with a free parking lot right in front. The staff was fairly nice when we entered, but we did not see anyone during our entire time in the store aside from entering and exiting. They really do have a lot of options, and it would definitely be a place to check out for a costume hunt. Pricing did seem a bit high, and it was a bit disorganized in parts, but overall I would recommend.

What a waste of my time. Walked in today at 11:45am and for a minute felt SO overwhelmed by…read moreeverything. First, the size of the store with all those dummies, ugly masks and costumes. All put in the wrong places. All at the same place. Not organized nor prioritized. Store is very big. Didn't get a nice welcome from anyone. Earlier yesterday when I called, the guy that I talked to was very curt, dry and barely let me speak. I wanted to know if they sold a black color leotard, and elastic black color pants with some sequins on them that shine bright like diamonds. He said yes, we do. So when I walked in this morning, I was basically on my own. Tried looking for both-- the leotard and the pants. What he didn't tell me is that they had tiny, small leotards for kids. In light blue and pink. I asked someone and he walked away. Every now and then I like to dress up for Halloween and I have a Yelp event coming up soon; and they want us to look as dramatic, spooky as possible. So looking fwd. to it. So I ended up buying a UHU Glue Stick, a pair of round gray earrings, and a cute mask like I am going to a mascquerade or a ballroom event. I also got a nice black wig, with a clip-on comb. Prices are crazy, service is not very helpful nor friendly. They have a parking in the back and on the street. This is a year round store that sells: wigs, costumes, make up for every occasion. They have their sister store one block down that sells: books, toys, props, some art-crafts and gifts. I don't think I will be visiting either one of their stores again. Plenty of other stores that sell almost the same things--if not better with more affordable prices. Good for nothing. I don't know what kind of business do they do, being open year round.

Some of you may recall that Party City stores across the country shut down and went out of business within the last two years. My wife and I happened to be in the area, so we decided to visit this store for nostalgia's sake, since we used to be big fans of Party City stores. Upon entering this store, the first thing I noticed was how fully stocked and well organized everything was from end to end and side to side. There was so much to see, so many colors of various types of merchandise and balloons everywhere. I grabbed a shopping cart and off we went. We walked every single aisle and were happy to see many of the same types of items we had purchased in the past when hosting numerous themed parties and school activities that required them. We added numerous items we wanted to use for our daughter's upcoming high school graduation and upcoming birthday. Sure, we could have possibly ordered these items on Amazon and saved a few cents, but I still like to touch and hold the items I wish to buy in my hands and see them up close for myself, instead of simply viewing everything on a computer screen and/or on my cell phone. Call me old-fashioned As we paid for our merchandise, the cashier explained that the reason this store and four other Party City stores still existed in Southern California was that they were independently owned. The bankruptcy of Party City recently forced all stores to close; however, independently owned stores were not impacted. This was a positive shopping experience, customer service was great and I am happy that Party City lives on.

I was fortunate enough to chat with Lily! She asked me exactly what I was there to receive, and I told her I needed a fun costume, without spending tons and tons of money. We went through a catalog, and then we took a walk to see what costumes were lurking. I found a cool costume, and also another one. We were both pleased that at least we narrowed it down to just two. We came to the consensus that although one may be a bit more lively, the other would be more comfy for an all-day event. I sent a picture for approval, and I was told everything worked except the Hat. Forunatly, We knew that if we switched the hat, we could still have a great look. She got me two potential Hats from a very high shelf in the back. And I couldn't quite decide, so I ended up purchasing both! I knew that I didn't want to take any more time in analysis paralysis, but Lily was very patient with me, and she knew this was important to me, so she was right by my side the whole time! Once I got home I noticed that there was a stain on one of the hats that we just didn't catch, so I came back to make a note, and Christina, her boss, was kind enough to take some baby wipes and make it looks spick and span. It's funny because once the stain from the silly hat was gone, I said, " ok good, now I feel confident wearing this!" Both Lily and Christina were very kind, pleasant, and helpful. I highly recommend visiting them for all your costume needs! And I look forward to returning someday. Maybe even Halloween season! Thanks so much for your patience and kindness!!!
