I've been a customer of Rockland Trust for almost 20 years now & what used to be a convenient small…read moretown bank is a large company that no longer provides good customer service at any level. Telephone banking service has gone downhill. They made multiple errors on my account last year (resulting in over $500 in erroneous charges) which took them over a month for them to fix. Had I not found the problem, escalated the problem to multiple people at the bank, it would not have been resolved. When I provided the back-up paperwork to them, I had to send it multiple times. They are not accommodating to their customers any more. I am reluctantly moving my accounts to a larger bank, that can provide me with better service and hopefully fewer errors.

We require two signatures on every check. They would not allow me to transfer from checking to savings because they said our rules required two signatures for that. When I pointed out that our rules clearly only require two signatures only for third party payments I was met with blank stares. Finally had to force the manager to do the transaction which should have been a teller function. When we want to add a new signer they require us to have all signers, even existing signers, submit sign a new signature card. The only reason is to make it easier for their Bookkeeping Dept. to to their job. Other banks solve this problem with software and systems. This bank has no clue. Their online banking application is unable to display check images half of the time. When I reported the problem they eventually came back and told me that it seems that check images for checks that clear the Fed on Friday are not being captured. OK great. Now fix it! As of today the problem is still there.

Our loan officer Alex Boyd was worse than useless. My complaint to his supervisor and even to the bank President went unanswered. So many better banks to choose from.

As Citizens Bank has been a great Bank, maybe this these are recently hired and did not realize that the transaction they were working on took a long time! Even the Stop n Shop employee in front of my was out of work and commented on the long wait without either teller looking up. My Rockland Trust debit card information was stolen and used by someone in another state to make a…read morepurchase of nearly $1,000.00 I was sent a text message from Rockland Trust on that day asking me if I made this purchase, to which I replied "NO", and the card was subsequently frozen and my account was given a provisional credit for that $1,000.00 fraudulent purchase. Fast forward 3 months later, and the provisional credit I had been given was then RESCINDED by Rockland Trust, and I was told they had been given "proof" by the merchant where the fraudulent transaction occurred that it was not fraudulent, despite the fact that the bank itself CONTACTED me that day when the purchase was made as they suspected it to be fraudulent. Now Rockland Trust is telling me there is "nothing more we can do", despite having already being able to provide me a credit for the fraudulent purchase that they TOLD me about the moment it happened. I will very likely be taking my business elsewhere entirely and never banking here again because of this complete failure, on Rockland Trust's part, to protect me and my financial security despite every indication and piece of evidence they had to do so.
