However, once he saw my family member paying with an EBT card, his attitude noticeably shifted. The warmth and friendliness disappeared, and we felt treated differently after that moment. No customer should feel judged or treated unfairly based on their method of payment. It was disappointing, especially after what started as such a positive visit. She asked me what I was making and I told her the two dishes and she walked with me around the store and made helpful suggestions based on my shopping list. She even asked about a few items which were not on my list because I already had them at home. She wasn't upselling or anything... quite the opposite.
