I stayed in the 8-bed mixed dorm. Couples tend to stay here and a few solo travelers. Felt safe.
My observations (plus pros):
-Located in a uppity, quiet residential neighborhood
-There are 2 S-bahn stations and tram stops that require a few minutes of walking.
-Nearest small grocer is a 5-minute walk.
-Hot showers
-There is 1 public computer available for use.
-One shower is setup to accommodate the handicapped
-Small kitchen that has comfortable seating for 7. Here is what I found: a toaster, portable hot water, microwave, refrigerator, coffee, tea, cutting boards, silverware, can opener, pots and pans, and a few other utensils.
-Jim and this other guy was there. They are both very nice and willing to offer help. Only there 3 times a day, no 24/7 service. They, however, leave their contact # in case you need something.
-Lockers come with hangers
-There is a plethora of restaurants within walking distance.
Dislikes:
-Not really a social hostel. There isn't anything done to bring foster interaction. People stick to themselves.
-Pillow is horrible!!! Needs to be replaced/refilled. Just useless.
-no ac or heater. The comforter does provide enough warmth for the month I was there.
-They only clean first thing in the morning
-The showers are clean for the most part but I can see bits of mold/mildew on the corners of the shower tiles. Needs some bleach read more
