We arrived at night and as soon as we rounded the corner and pulled in all three of us said "wow". It was that beautiful! A steamboat designed hotel inside and out! There's a small lake with ducks, a playground, a fire pit area, and a nice seating area. They have a restaurant on sight, but we did not eat there. They also have a small gift shop. They did a great job at keeping things looking clean. The free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch. They had the place beautifully decorated for Christmas. We plan to stay there the next we are in town. We have already recommended the place to several people!

The continental breakfast is a joke and the front desk staff showed me how to turn the juice dispenser on and off so that I could get water and said "Sorry to put yo to work." For $267 a night, I don't want to work or breathe in mold and I'd like to watch TV, and I'd like to be able to connect to WiFi.

Largest complaint was being woke up at 8:30am on Sunday morning to contractors moving furniture, banging tools and loud music. Noise was so loud it shook the walls. Was told by one of the housekeeping crew that we should have never been placed on the 3rd floor that is was under renovation. Renovating is understandable but hotel should have never placed paying guests on the same floor, let alone in a room right next to ones that are being renovated. Upon checkout, early by the way, other guests must have experienced the same dissatisfaction because the staff placed a sign at the front desk regarding renovations. This should have been disclosed prior to booking room!

Each room is decorated with a variety of Victorian furniture and named after something musical. This is the place where we discovered their very yummy hot apple cider! We usually come up to Lancaster to go to our favorite restaurant there, Dienner's Country Restaurant. While we were here, we also got a chance to visit Jennie's Diner, conveniently located right across the street. There are no TVs in the rooms, but we enjoyed that idea it gave us a more intimate setting. We ended up playing cards and with the chess set available in the nicely decorated living room (we were there during Christmas time). They were kind enough to take some pictures for us near the fireplace and Christmas tree. This time, like others, we went In December, and was able to enjoy our short time here. Sheets and pillows were clean. Pillows did have enough comfort that I didn't wake up with a sore neck. Bathroom was clean and towels . Caulking around shower was clean. Bad: They need more thorough cleaning, Dusting, Microwave, corners of the carpet. Furniture is showing age and needs replaced or repair to look better. Hairs from house keepers on things and comforter. Bad Ceiling repairs. Damaged blankets. Stained Lamp covers damaged and needing replaced. Bed was stiff. Ac is loud Bathroom exhaust fan needs replaced. Now after seeing all the bad I understand you may think no but if you can get a room for a good price or there are not many options available this place will be fine. I didn't wake up feeling nasty and I did inspect for signs of bed bugs and there was none, also they did have proper bed covers for the mattress and box springs. Keep in mind also I used to do this stuff for a living so I will notice a lot more then your average person.
