I've been suffering with symptoms of nausea and vomiting for no reason for 4.5 years. I've had scopes, swallow studies, scans. Nothing found by 5 different medical specialists. Then I decided to try something different. I found this group of alternative doctors and am so encouraged! Dr. B started me on something for my vagus nerve and my digestion. Then a parasite test showed that I have a tape worm!! Yuk. But now I'm on a med recognized to kill it. So, I'm so hopeful! Last year my husband & I both had a brain map evaluation at East Valley Naturopathic Doctors. Unfortunately, I don't recommend this business. The one person I would give 5 stars to, however, is Sheri, who does the brain mapping evaluation. She was extremely helpful, kind, and easy to contact. I decided to try the FSM (Frequency Specific Micro-Current). I had 2 sessions but it didn't work for me, and it took a few months to feel back to normal. One day after this treatment, I was feeling strange so I called asking to talk to Dr. Porter for just 3 minutes, but they refused and said I had to make a regular appt. Also, Dr. Porter and the other doctors don't get emails personally, so we have to send it to his staff ("patient care") and he responds to them. There were quite a few conclusions on my brain map that just weren't accurate. Dr. Porter even told my husband he suspected pre-dementia and he should get an MRI, which he did and it was normal. An unnecessary $2500 that his insurance company paid. Now they are raising their prices! After a year pandemic and people losing jobs, they're raising their prices? $300 an hour is just too expensive for most people. This company is too impersonal with their email communications, questionable results and their prices are too high. read more

‼I'm giving this a one star, zero if I could‼ I was a patient of Doctor Casey Seenauth at 5416 E Southern Ave, Suite 110, Mesa, AZ. This doctor was absolutely terrible. I was in for a TRT. He had informed me that I was pre-diabetic even though, according to his charts, my glucose level of 94 was in the normal range from 70 to 99. I'm currently in my 60s. My PSA was high, but he is comparing my levels to younger men. When I advised him of my age, which he should have known from my charts, his recommendation was to have me see a specialist immediately before going on. He also stated that I would eventually need to start dialysis which prompted me to want to get a second opinion from other medical professionals. I checked with two other professional doctors and both results came back just fine. Both stated that we can address the issues that I had with vitamins and supplements. Both also said that I did not need dialysis nor am I pre-diabetic. Just be careful with Dr. Seenauth. He was wanting me to go see all of his specialists and professors. It seemed like he was trying to do some networking. I would recommend seeking out other medical advices than coming to him. read more

My experience here was unlike anything I could have imagined. Typically, the doctor office has a whole process to kind of weed you through. Dr. Nevels came to retrieve me herself from the waiting area and really took the time to listen and learn about me. At one point, she made a comment about us being a team for my health and that really resonated with me. I felt at that point that she actually cared about my Well being and isn't that all we really want in a Doctor Patient relationship? It is unfortunate that my insurance didn't cover the visits and that me taking charge of my health will have to be on hold until I can find the extra change to make it happen. I do hope that day comes soon because I'd love to see her again sooner rather than later. read more

Don't bother trying to make an appointment. The website is terrible, and the instructions they sent to you via email don't make sense. Oh, and if you want to call to make an appointment, ask questions, etc. you can't. For some weird reason, they will not allow you to speak to anyone, they screen their calls with an answering machine and then just don't ever call back. I have been trying to make an initial appointment since last week and still haven't gotten anywhere. The appointment request I made online got declined with no explanation as well. If this is how bad the appointment setting process is, this may just be a bullet dodged. Going somewhere else - I would rather drive to Scottsdale and give my money to an office that actually cares. read more

Dr. Nevels was highly recommended to me 3 years ago by a patient who had amazing care and outcomes with her. I started seeing Dr. Nevels 3 years ago for overall health and an issue that many doctors were ignoring. Dr.Nevels listened to me and sent me for proper testing and imaging immediately-- she found the major issue through many tests/imaging, which many other doctors did the same and disregard/ignored the results. She has literally been a lifesaver for my health, and I now have 3 friends that see her and they have had many issues resolved that other doctors dismissed or tried to mask with medicine. Dr. Nevels is by far the BEST naturopathic doctor I have ever been to. She is extremely caring, supportive, genuine, knowledgeable, and takes a holistic approach with everything. Front desk staff is so rude and unwelcoming. When you walk in they just stare and don't even greet you. Haven't had a chance to meet with my doctor yet but as far as the front desk girls go my experience with this place is negative. If your standard of front desk is that low I would hope the standard everywhere else isn't the same. Customer service matters and when I left the building I wanted to just cancel my appointment all together. The frustrating part of this clinic is that doctors do not directly communicate with patients and by the time front desk passes the messages and get responses, it's so much time wasted. No idea why they charge $350 consultation and cannot provide a portal whereby doctors can answer quick questions that won't take so much time. Misty was so kind and responsive with all my questions and concerns establishing ourselves as new patients, and really showed compassion and care for us. EVND really seems to understand how hard and stressful it can be navigating all the different opinions and avenues out there when dealing with chronic illness. I got a brain scan from them and it showed pre-dementia. That was totally inaccurate. I got an MRI and it showed there was nothing wrong. He also stated that I may have problems with reading comprehension. Nothing could be further from the truth. The MRI was totally unnecessary and I wouldn't have gotten one except that it was encouraged by Dr. Porter. I will never come back here. read more

What can I say. I contacted EVND solely out of interest in the neurofeedback therapy they offer. A huge debt of gratitude goes to the individuals who operate that program, as well as the microcurrent therapy program. I am a fairly new patient of Dr. Nevels and this is the first time in years that I have seen a doctor who I feel truly cares about the patient. Most doctor's offices make you feel like they are just herding you through like cattle and listening for the "cha-ching" as they prescribe medication instead of actually trying to heal. I went in to get testosterone levels checked out because I was feeling some of the symptoms of low testosterone. Turns out my testosterone levels were ok, but a yeast infection was identified and treated, and I was told that it is possible that this treatment could increase testosterone levels and eliminate some of the symptoms I was experiencing. I was prescribed medications and supplements that cost over $300 a month, and 2 months later my testosterone levels actually dropped. Aside from the expensive office visits and medications, they used Labcorps, which is out of network for my insurance company.. they should have used Qwest. My 2 lab bills totaled over $1200. So, after spending a total of over $3000 on treatment to kill a bacteria infection and the testosterone was dramatically decreased. read more

I started coming to EVND a year and a half ago for chronic migraines which have increased over the last 23 years. Over the last 12 years I have seen various Neurologists and have many tests done producing no answers. I have been on numerous daily maintenance medications as well as acute medications. These medications have done little to even ease my pain. Before coming to EVND I was having headaches and migraines up to 27 days out of the month.
