Oscar's Grill - I found the Santa Fe Salad was not fantastic.

WTF Sudbury!! what a big disappointment…read more We went out for a nice dinner and saw this very appealing place called Oscar's and we thought we'd try it. we were directed towards a table and were served by Anthony who was very nice. He assisted us with a good choice of wine. We ordered our foods and got our soup in due time. It was good. Then we waited and waited and waited. We inquired about the main course and 1.5 hours later they had not started on "fish and chips and Caesar salad"?? People that arrive after us had food served. We cancelled the main course and the manager was not very accommodating nor sympathetic towards our situation. We paid and left. I cannot recommend the food as we never got it, but the service needs adjustment. Good luck... businesses like this don't last very long. it's too bad as Sudbury really needs to up their eatery establishment.

We chose this place because the night before we walked by and the front wall was wide open. The…read moremusic and atmosphere were lively and fun. The general feeling was really cool. But we had just eaten next door. So here we are ready to people watch and enjoy the music. But no. The 'windows ' were closed. The ambiance was subdued. We inquired about the difference and was given a snarky response about the heat and humidity and that maybe later they would open things up. Food*****The El Diablo.... (Dang it!) EL FUEGO.. got mixed reviews at our table. Two of our party ordered it, and one inhaled it, while the other was disappointed that 'jalapeño bacon' wasn't the same as 'jalapeño AND bacon'. I made the same mistake while reading the menu. My husband ordered the ribs, and couldn't stop going on about how good the slaw was. So much more than cabbage, if you have never tried it you should give it a go. I had the Santa Fe salad. With descriptions like 'roasted ' and 'grilled ' I expected a warm dish with the flavor profiles of SoCal-Tex-Mex. I was surprised when I was served a ice cold chilled dish that consisted mostly of quinoa tossed in a very sweet vinaigrette. (****edit: looks like they changed the name and description of this menu item. Eliminating any confusion) No worries. My lunch the next day was left over Santa Fe with added corn, chickpeas, more cilantro and fresh lemon juice. (There are no leftovers). If you go there at the right time the windows are wide open and prime for fresh air and people watching.

I had lunch today at Swiss Chalet…read more I ordered the half chicken dinner with corn as my side. I usually order mashed potatoes but went with the corn today because I'm now on Weight Watchers and corn is zero points (mashed potatoes are five points). The corn wasn't great but it was okay ... though it was hot, it seemed like it was previously frozen and sitting around for a while. The chicken was good. My entire meal was just seven points (no skin). I'd get it again. Brittany was my server. She was pleasant and took good care of me.

2 stars because the fries were good…read more Went on a Sunday of long weekend at one, mall lot was full of cars, pulled in the Swiss chalet part and it was almost empty. 5 cars. Walked in, saw a couple of tables occupied, which was odd. Any other Swiss chalet would normally be full. Its brunch time. My mom and I ordered the same thing. What we always get. Quarter chicken dark with fries and gravy on the side. So one time we went to a different swiss chalet and they had run out of chicken. God I wish this would have happened here. So we ordered 2 quarter chicken fries, got 1 quarter dark, one light. I took the light because I could see it was partially burned black and didn't want my mom to have it. Placed in front of us and my mom announced , after the waitress walked away, that 'this chicken has been around a while' So my mom normally loves the bun. We had a big laugh when it was so hard she couldn't cut through it with the knife and could barely rip it apart with her fingers. So, the fries were fresh. My chicken. Burned charcoal wing. So dry it was hard to choke down. Thank god for the gravy? Omg the gravy. Obviously gravy is super expensive that they have to water it down and thicken it up again with flour or something like that. It tasted like powder, was grainy, and also tasted a lot like broccoli. Weird and really gross. We will not be going back. Felt really gross after.

Came here on a whim while attending an event in Sudbury, and had a pleasant experience. I ordered…read morethe Egyptian pasta and it was a very unique and tasty dish! The flavours all complimented each other really well and while it seemed like the lentils and chickpeas would be a weird combination with pasta and rice, it all came together really well. Service was really good, and they gave some bread and garlic butter while we waited for our meals. I do have to warn that the prices are a bit steep - my bf and I were tempted to pass on getting dinner from here when seeing the prices but decided to stay and try it out anyways. He ordered the lobster ravioli and it was around 36 dollars and was only 3-4 pieces of ravioli which was definitely not enough for an entree, but this is common I find with lobster/seafood dishes so I am still going to give 4 stars because my meal was a large portion and was very delicious.

So it's a cute little place with some pretty good food, but the dinner price is outrageous. The…read moreEgyptian pasta was good and the portion was more fair. But the Lobster Ravioli was $36 and you get THREE pieces of thing ravioli. Had to go get more food after eating it. 3 pieces!!! I could buy a whole delicious lobster for that price....or at least a big juicy tail with sides and very nice restaurants. Come on...this is Sudbury, what's up with that?
