Not too much nice to say: server grumpy, salad came with no dressing, appetizers were over done, took forever to get food.

Well again in Petawawa, ON about 2 hours north of Ottawa. Kelseys is right next to the Quality…read moreInn, which for a QI is really pretty nice :) . They have a selection of about 8 draught beers and I was there this week on business. I love Rickards Red beer (spelling?) and have it every time I go. The restaurant reminds me a lot of Logans or Applebees or any of the rustic places for casual dining. They have tables, booths and a good size bar area. The people are friendly and it is a stand-alone restaurant with plenty of free parking. I was with a group from work, all guys but one (because this is the nuclear industry LOL). I ate there maybe 3 months ago and had a burger which was awesome and really filled you up. This time I tried the potato skins, wings, and nachos, which I did not try but see the pic.. they looked pretty good and my colleagues loved them. The potato skins and wings were some of the best I have had... They always give you plenty of food and with the exchange rate, it was even better. Honestly it is really not any different than a USA Logans or an Applebees... a great casual place to meet with friends and have good beer and drink at a reasonable price. I will go again next time I am in town and I give it 3 for the type of casual dining and the quantity and quality of the food. If it had a really unique theme or something that made it stand out it would be a 4.

I used to go to Good Eats regularly when they were in a smaller space on Albert, close to my work…read more I'd wander over once every week or so. This location has as much character as the old one, but of course in a different way. The first thing I noticed walking in was the colourful floor tile. It made me happy. They still have a simple menu with good choices: soups, sandwiches, bowls and baked goods. Service was pleasant and speedy. It was a beautiful spring day so we took advantage of the large patio to enjoy some sunshine. Food was as good as I remember. I had the salmon bowl while hubs had a chicken squishwhich, basically a grilled sandwich. Happy to have re-found Good Eats.

I usually get a latte there but decided on a regular one, that was a mistake. Their food did taste good, and their chutney was still delicious but the service was a bit gruff. They weren't rude by any means but I was ignored for 10 mins just waiting to ask for a takeout box. I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed and probably having an off morning, so I didn't take it personally. But when I'm paying $30 for one breakfast bowl and a coffee, I'd expect more than 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and a few mushrooms in it. The food is delicious but you're definitely overpaying and 50/50 on the coffee lol
