Unfortunately, we chose the less expensive "Buy My Eye" design service, and we felt as though we wasted quite a bit of money on it. This was during 2021 and Hilary had no insight into what retailers we could shop from to avoid supply chain nightmares. She would bill us for our time, including the time she spent waiting for her iPad to charge before she could begin using it. Then we had to wait for various websites to load, as she never arrived with a bunch of links and images ready. We received almost no useful advice from her. The only rug that we bought due to Hilary's advice has been shedding for a year and we are finally replacing it because we're scared that our 1 year old is inhaling the fibers from it. Truly a nightmare. My sense is that Hilary's full services are likely terrific - especially when she is local - but for the version we paid for, we truly regretted the experience. I also think it might have been easier to work with someone local.

The store is very cute - a small size, but with a lot of options for finishing your house. I initially went in because I am refinishing some funiture and in the market for unique knobs and pulls for the drawers - through the window of this store I noticed they had TONS of options ... not only are there perhaps 6 pillars full of knobs and pulls and handles, there are various boards with different selections located all around the store. Even though I haven't even begun thinking about refinishing cabinets and countertops in my newly-purchased house yet, I couldn't help but browse their selection. House Splendid has a great collection of quality countertops and cabinetry, and I picked up several pamphlets. To top it all off, the owner, Lia, is very sweet and welcoming - she makes sure to say hi and is available for any questions, but she also lets you browse in peace. I will definitely return to this store for my home finishing needs.

How was a dog left roaming inside of the store freely and greeting a customer in such a belligerent way? Beats me. I chose to leave the store right away in protest. Approximately sixteen years ago, Bonnie created custom window treatments for our kitchen, dining room, living room, family room and master bedroom (with sitting area). She is currently making new window treatments for our family room. (I will definitely add photos once they are up). The remaining window treatments still look great and the fabrics have held up beautifully. We just had our entire home interior repainted and will be rehanging the others soon (all were dry cleaned without any problems). Not only is Bonnie Rubino very skilled and creative, she is easy to work with. I highly recommend her company.
