Greenfield Landscapers came as a referral from my real estate broker and a great one at that. But unfortunately I never got the estimate this owner claims. I did actually call and I was told "we're working on it and will have the estimate to you within the next week" - this was 2 weeks after the estimate was supposed to be emailed to me. Fortunately I did find wonderful contractors who did actually come to my house twice, once for the initial consultation and once more to double check the ascetics before finalizing the estimate- this other company I ended up hiring and was very happy. The job was $47,000 and this other company did a beautiful job.

I couldn't sing him higher praises. He is honest, reliable, professional and provided the highest quality of service. This major project began when I hired a nightmare contractor who took tens of thousands of dollars and left my house as a complete demo zone. Joe and his crew came when I was in despair and repaired all the damage, put up the walls, new roof, new deck, sanded and refinished all the hardwood floors, installed a brand new kitchen and 3 bathrooms, and painted interior & exterior. I am so happy with the finished project. He relieved my head/heart ache.

I hired GODOY Driveway Company to redo the driveway at my small East Hampton cottage. Their…read moreportfolio looked beautiful, and although their price was extremely high (around $30,000), I decided to move forward hoping for quality work that would last. While the steel edging for the gravel area was done nicely, I was surprised to be charged an extra $1,200 just to sink the existing Belgian block to match the new ones. That should have been included in the original price -- it made no sense to leave half the driveway uneven. Communication was also very difficult. None of the workers spoke English, so I couldn't communicate simple requests, like asking them not to urinate in my bushes. They cut stone directly in front of my new gate, coating everything in dust and never hosed it off. At the end of the job, I requested a few stepping stones to connect the front steps -- a small addition. They charged another $2,700 for just a handful of stones that were roughly placed directly into the soil. When I pointed out the scratches and poor workmanship, the owner refused to come see it and dismissed my concerns, saying "they are natural stones." When I asked again for him to come inspect the work, he became aggressive and threatened me -- saying that if I kept complaining, he would destroy my house and "rip up my front yard to make a mud pond for my kids." His tone was violent and unprofessional. I felt unsafe and contacted the police to make a report. This has been the most unprofessional and upsetting experience I've ever had with a contractor. The owner is largely absent, overcharges for basic work, and becomes hostile when questioned. I strongly caution anyone considering GODOY Driveway Company. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau to help protect other families from going through this.
