A two day music festival in Drumheller with a variety of music, great location, family friendly, you can walk about with a beer and everyone is super friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the weekend. I though it would be low key and didn't have high expectation but East Coulee just blew me out the water with blues, folk, rock, roots, and country! They have two main buildings with bands playing at alternating times so at every pint you had a band to watch, Lots of people were hanging on the grass outside in the sunshine and listening from there too as the rooms were damn hot.
The hotel we stayed at (Quality Hotel) offered a free shuttle service to the venue so you could really let your hair down if you wanted to. I was still loving that you can walk around with a beer, the last few Canadian festivals I've been to were very strict on the beer garden rules. Let me tell you this festival is what really rule. I'll be going back next year even if my husband's band aren't in the line up.
Another thing I didn't expect was the food! It was so good and lots of options, including chili and even have some vegetarian options and even gluten free. The merch room is next door and they have cool Spring Fest t-shirts that were only $15 and I thought it was the perfect way to support a small independent festival. I bought one obvz. read more
