Their beauty first caught my eye, but when I asked where they were crafted, and found out it was by artists in East Coulee, Alberta, there was no way I could pass on a purchase - the latter was a stones throw away from my lady's birthplace and childhood in Drumheller (and let's just say, a good many moons ago!!). There was little hesitation on my part, one definitely had to go home with her (and as I love rock rattles, one had to go home with me as well). As I had not actually visited their studio, there was some hesitation on my part to post this here as a review .. but wanted them to get more recognition of their lovely work than just a passing comment made on a purchase made elseshwere.

The Welcome sign greeted us and you bet we stopped and took a lot of pictures. I can tell that it is a laid back town. No bustling traffic noise. No group of people crossing the street. Admission is 5 CAD or for the Americans roughly $3.70 USD It's open 10am -5:30pm. We almost missed the opportunity to climb the 106 steps for the view, and I was about to be heartbroken but the kind lady let my sister and I be the last group to go up for the day. They only let one family up at a time in the dinosaur head and for good reason. I could feel the head sway a bit. The views from atop are beautiful! It is a short journey so make sure you tack on other places rather than making this your primary destination.

I don't get up here enough. I miss hiking around the West End. Nowadays you might find me down there trying to fly fish, but when I was a wee tyke this is where I'd run in the tall grass, play in the Bow River, toast a marshmallow, chase cows (or get chased by them), hike down to the spring and get a drink of cool water, or lay on the ground and watch a meteor shower. I only get up here once a year (sometimes less), but I have many good memories. I can't wait to get up there again---hopefully soon. I want some bannock burgers!! It was a…read morevery popular choice for this May Long Saturday afternoon; meaning it was busy and crawling with families of all sizes and ages. The displays were nicely organized and beautiful but there were a few that may have been an issue for people with mobility problems to see. But most of the offending displays were obviously aimed to entertain children. The displays were also clearly marked and I spotted a few people who were wearing auditory tours. Parking in the main lot is a freaking zoo and I highly recommend skipping it and going straight to the auxiliary lot which is bigger and has a better layout unless you have mobility issues.
