This is how I will rate my experience: Sept 2009 - five stars for fun, kept dinosaurs appearing as real as possible. Makes me want to take more pictures with the dinosaurs which I did. July 2026 - four stars for fossils only showing various types of dinosaurs. I find it somewhat boring. Lots of updated signage. There are a lot of valuable information regarding dinosaurs, Alberta, and climate change. There is a café and gift shop which we looked around, but didn't find anything to buy. Now it was Treaty Day, and they had a few events here, so maybe this is the reason for the washroom sloppiness (there was a talent show, bbq, and 10k run---I was too late for all of them) :( But yeah, last year I was in awe. I noted some shortcomings, but I assumed they'd get remedied after a year or so of operation. Unfortunately, not much was different. Museums should be dynamic and ever-changing. We came here by making a reservation and had the guide take us through every display in detail. Very knowledgeable and very passionate about the material, you will learn an awful lot about geology, dinosaurs and evolution. It should be clear when you come in that it's presenting from a Biblical creation model, but as I'm sure many people discover, that by no means isn't scientific or not based on evidence. The museum is very small (no bigger than a small house) but the tour is quite elaborate. We spent about 4 hours going through everything and never felt bored (and that's considering I've spent less time at Tyrell and gotten more bored). The displays are very professional, very informative, and the layout is very user friendly. It only cost each of us $5 (prices vary by demographic/group) but the tour is really worth way more than that. All of us thought the presentation exceeded our expectations. It should be noted that the many negative reviews found in various places (here, tripadvisor, Yelp, etc) are commonly made by people who never set foot in the museum (the owner and guide confirmed that). It's a long way to go but it's a tour that's great for families, Christians, skeptics (he's had quite a few) and anyone who likes to be challenged in their thinking. Would recommend this to all my friends and family. :)

The world map is filled with push pins from visitors from every obscure corner of the world, and you will be warmly greeted by Lauren, the daughter of the museum founder, who regales you with many fun stories. Definitely a fun and light-hearted half hour stop along the way to Tyrell Museum in Drumheller, it's 100% worth the trek.

School Of Yesterdays! We love this museum so much! There is…read moreso much history within the walls of this old school, and so many memories as well. We were fortunate a few years ago (during one of our trips) to meet one of the original classmates who happened to be touring as well. He was a lovely man and I wish I could remember his name as we got a picture of him but forgot to write his name down. I think he was with his daughter or granddaughter, but he was so sweet and it was so magical to see the school through his eyes. I can't help but think of him every time we visit. This really is a special place if you love to take a walk back in time.
